What a great look at your garden, Angela! I love your big, wooden trellis. I just might need to build me one like that! ☺️
Yes, soil prices keep going up and up. I like to make my own soil, with compost, broken-down woodchips, and aged chicken manure. I put branches, leaves, alfalfa pellets, and food scraps at the bottom of containers and beds, too. Works really well! But yes, when you're building new beds or filling a bunch of grow bags, sometimes you definitely need more! 😎
Your Oak Leaf Hydrangeas should do fantastic in that location! 👏👏👏 I planted one last year and love how it's leafing out fully again now. The colors in the late summer and fall were gorgeous! ❤
Glad you're finally doing your fence - that will be so nice! You'll *love* being able to keep the deer out of your garden!
My son is rebuilding my back fence in a week or two. I'm so excited because it's really old and definitely needs replacing. ☺️ Fortunately, he worked as a fencer for a year, so he knows how to put in a good cedar fence.

Im pretty new here and looking forward to watching your garden journey. Personally I would never buy soil for growing in, Compost is what you need. You seam to have the space, so I would suggest venturing into making your own compost. Save yourself a fortune and your plants will love you for it. Happy gardening. 🌸
