Fursuit 2 Progress - Eyes and Mouth

  • EDIT 11/26/2017
The species is a wildcat (bobcat/lynx). I made this in 2011 on commission for my school as a mascot costume. It was a very fun experience and helped me grow as a fursuit maker. I have made many suits since this and have improved tremendously, but love being able to look back at where I began, so I will be keeping this up!
This is in no way intended to be a tutorial, but a walkthrough of my progress as I was very excited to be making my second suit and first commission.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
Again, I had a lot of fun making this full suit and am very grateful for the commission as it helped me become the suit maker I am today.
    Toony eye tutorial: browse.devianta...

Yes, people (including me) do make these for a living ;)
A general fursuit head can go from $200- $900 and a full suit can range from $400- $1500 depending on a lot of details....
Although it is cheaper to make yourself, it does require a lot of thinking, skill, and time.
    I hope this helps!

    well, in that case...
what i did was gently bend the pallet until i saw the resin start to form air pockets underneath, then twist harder till it poped out. if that doesn't work, take a toothpick or a knife and VERY CAREFULLY poke the edges untill you see the air pockets and it should come out super easy.
let me know if i helped you, or what you came up with!
thank you for your question :3
    good luck

Just before I actually do this (I need permission), am I aloud to make a base almost exactly like that except build my own character with it? At my young age I suck at anatomy but I don’t want to just copy someone’s work.

Hey, ik that this is a 10 year old video but I’ve been struggling on how to make a fursuit as a beginner. I’ve tried doing those head bases in every head tutorial I’ve watched but they never work out for me. I’ve did it once and I wasn’t really happy with the result. But your videos look so much easier especially with the mask base and I’m willing to try using your methods, plus they look incredibly well done and I’m interested in seeing more if you’re still making them :O

Hi! I know exactly how you feel, this was my second suit I ever made 😅 it was very challenging, but with each suit I make, I learn something new to make it easier, even 10 years later! If you're interested to see what I'm up to now, check out my main Instagram at AcidRainCloud, and my fursuit portfolio Instagram, at faulking.fursuits 💜

    1. no, I do not have a follow me eye tutorial, but I do have a toony eye tutorial (link in description)
    2. no, you cannot see through resin eyes. when using resin eyes, you see though the tear ducts.
    3. you can find commissioners all over on youtube, deviantart, furaffinity and so on. prices can range from $100-$800 on finished heads and depends on a lot of details.
    I hope this helps

Very nice :) now for the teeth I see you using clay, did they stay pretty structured in the mouth and not break? I have seen others use a type of leathery foam so it's more squishy if something knocks it. Though not sure what that is. Do you know what else is good to use?
