Ironically, both Viserys II and Jaeherys II were named after monarchs who had long prosperous reigns and had the seeming potential to be great monarchs in their own right, only for them to abruptly die early in their reigns. And both would be followed by monarchs that would have devastating effects on the realm.
For the Watch & The Lord commander !!!! Brother bittersteel!! We are 2 days away from season 2!! LFG!!!!! Such a tragedy at Summerhall, we didn’t have many Targaryens after that fire…
I really like Jaehaerys II. He may be one of the more lackluster kings but he was a decent man and most of his flaws were out of his control. That being his frail constitution and his son. The one that was in his control was the forced marriage of his son and daughter together could have made up for some political marriages with those two.
A decent man who would much rather bone his sister and piss off the tullys and tyrells with this decision, and then make his daughter marry her brother whom she disliked.
1st to take the Black for House Blackfyre🗡 I want to learn more about Jaehaerys 2 he is really interesting seemed like a good King for his short time But maybe a little bit obsessed with prophecy too

@lukebarroso449 I agree he's intriguing. He got his flaws but seems very determined he somehow kept some of his father's reforms, married the love of his life, and if I remember right, Jaehaerys was ready to lead the army again King Maelys Blackfyre even though he was sickly.
@@aegorbittersteel2154 The wanting to fight even while sick was truly badass. Reminds me of Baldwin IV since he was sick but still a good leader. Especially since it also says he kept his arm covered. Maybe he had a deformed arm or had affliction like viserys did. In the show anyway. Plus I like how Ser Barristan says good things about Jaehaerys. Much like Baelor Breakspear, if he had lived longer it may have been truly beneficial for the realm.
Something got me puzzled. Duncan Targaryen was betrothed to a daugther of Lyonel Baratheon, but when that went belly up, Lyonel rose in rebellion which only ended after a trial by combat, whereafter Lyonel was pardoned, and his son Ormund betrothed to Rhaella T, Not long after Jaehaerys was betrothed to Celia Tully, but broke that too, while Shaera was betrothed to Luthol Tyrell. My question is: What did Aegon V do to appease these houses and avoid rebellion? Neither house had other offers of marriage from House Targaryen afterwards, nor have I been able to find them getting titles, priviledges or a closer bond to the crown, not even a mention of fostering heirs in Riverrun or in Highgarden. Daeron was a Squire in Highgarden, so that could be related, but nothing has been mentioned of Riverrun.
Everytime a Targaryn born God toss the coin in the air and the world holds it's breath to see how it lands. Madness and Greatness were two sides of the one coin.

Sounds like King J II would have benefited greatly to a dragon bond had they survived the Dance.
