Thank you for explaining this I was having a hard time and a lot of videos that I watched had a bunch of music in the background. Thank you for speaking clearly and explaining it with multiple examples.
I can’t thank you enough for your tutorials. I was on the verge of selling my cricut because it was so difficult for me to use. My cousin recommended one of your videos for a project I was trying to do and it literally changed everything for me. You explained it so simply that it took me no time to finish my project. Again, thank you for all of your tutorials!
I am so happy to hear this, Lori! And I am so happy you are enjoying your machine more now! Thank you so much for letting me know, that is so encouraging! Happy to have you here!
Thanks for explaining the contour feature. I kind of understood it and used it before but your video gave me a better understanding of how to use it. Definitely a great tool.
Thank you so much for explaining how to use the contour feature; this is so helpful with editing svg files. So glad I found your channel! I've subscribed and now I'm going to binge watch your tutorials!
I love your tutorials! I am wondering if ‘slice’ can also be used? I am new to Cricut and getting confused on some of the different features. Thanks so much!
Hi Pam! Yes, you are correct! Slicing can also be used to remove parts of an image! For this tutorial, I was just demonstrating contouring but you can definitely slice as well. There are times when contouring may be easier, based on the size or complexity of the image but you will definitely know which to use when you see the file you are working with! Great job recognizing that you can use another tool to achieve the same outcome!
Thank you for the explanation in your video. However, why would you change the colors on just a cut file? It's not like it's going to be printed in those colors. Can you help me understand this?
I cant' get my "contour" button to light up. I just typed my name and put an offset around it. In order to contour, do I need to select one layer or two? and question number 2..: Can you contour a flattened word?
Bethadilly I don’t see the contour button on my iPhone or iPad Pro, either. My iPad Pro is the 2020 version and my iPhone is XR, running the current iOS. There is a “Hide Contour” button but it’s grayed out and I can’t seem to change that. Unless I’m missing it on the screen, maybe Cricut uses Contour for large screens only? 😕
You’ll want to make sure you have a cut file open in your canvas before the contour button highlights. Also, some files aren’t able to be contoured so it’s possible that if you do have a cut file open in design space, it may just be a file that doesn’t contour. I hope this helps you in some way! But I believe contouring should be available no matter the device you’re on!
I think one of the updates change the ability to see what’s deleting in real time, as I can no longer see the deletes. It’s more like a guessing game now, which is a bummer!
That’s correct, and I mention as much in the video as well! It definitely makes it faster, and I decided to use the longer method for demonstration purposes as well as to show the zooming feature for smaller pieces that need to be contoured. Thanks for watching!

Changing the colors allows your software to know you want those pieces placed on separate mats, then just load the colors of your choice.

Oh and subbed.
Thank you for another great tutorial. My contour box doesn't show the layers on the side. I wonder if its because I'm using the android mobile app...
Glad this was helpful to you, Celia! I am unfamiliar with the Android app for Design Space so I’m unsure of the layout.

every time i contour i can't see what is deleting like you can. how do you get the contour screen smaller like you have

On the bee image, you can click “hide all contours”😬😬
