    My stepmom has recently gotten into air plants and you’d be surprised at how many varieties there are. She’s even had some bloom for her. Great job on the tank, he looks like he loves it. ❤️

    This is amazing! My gecko is turning a year old soon, and this video gave me a ton of ideas on how to customize a new background for her tank, now that she's growing and I'd like some more areas for her to explore. Thanks for this, and all the great care info you provide on your channel-- It really helped me out as a new reptile owner!

    Air plants do just amazing indoors. But it is best to hang them outside is mostly or partial shade. If you implement some kind of natural grow light inside the tank near the plant the air plant will be fine inside there.

    • @KerpooHater
      @KerpooHater 6 років тому +4

      i'll add my own air plant quirk, you can use the dirty water from Diego's water bowl to fill up a spray bottle and spray the air plants to feed them.

    • @Silberschutz
      @Silberschutz 6 років тому +1

      One major tip to "air plants". In Nature they rarely live on a Rock, or dead material. They love a living/dead plant,tree,stomp as underground to attach to.
      The microclima is whats suits them the best.
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epiphyte
      Just throw a Bark in there, but 2-3 air plants together on it, and they will do better. Mine a more shadow dweller since 2 years in my Crested Gecko tank, so iam not sure about direct sunlight.
      Either way good video

    • @kenjiro2676
      @kenjiro2676 6 років тому +1

      Silberschutz they will appreciate some morning sun when you give them a good soak or spray. But your plants will be fine.

    I am so glad I watched this video! My leopard gecko gets anxiety after I spot clean his tank, so I was looking into bioactive for him to minimize spot cleaning. I looked all over but only this video that I have seen so far has mentioned a gecko dragging their tail after cleaning. I was scared he was preparing to drop his tail! But I feel better now knowing that is normal for such a situation. You described everything he does after I clean, and now I can relax knowing he's fine.

    I have the same hide for my Leo Diego and I always hate it when he would crawl into the tree trunk and it made some pretty cute pics when he would poke his head out but it was so frustrating trying to find him and being scared half to death and so I blocked off the bottom and put in some of my substrate and now I put in a plant and it works beautifully!❤️

    Hello Rebecca, I love it!. Even though my little ones are in clear plastic containers I have things they can hide and crawl around on too.
    So funny to watch them crawl through the cute fake log to go into their moist hides even when they don't have to. So I know they love their apartment setups.
    Looks like your little one is enjoying what you did for him too. It is so amazing. Upgrades are fun.
    Jessica's Animal Friends loves doing them too. If you never have checked out her channel you should. I think you have though.
    You both have the same love for leopard geckos. How can we not.
    They never stop smiling 😁.
    God's blessings to you and yours, Lin

      Leopard Gecko , you will love Jessica. Tell her I sent you. She has 20 something special needs geckos. Plus other little ones. All have been rescued. Or from craigslist.
      I also wanted you to know my little ones "apartments are large ones. They are longer than high. My husband had to carry them downstairs because they were to big for me to carry safely.
      Just wanted you to know that they have enough room. The pet store that I volunteer at to hold the reptiles to tame them a little.
      The one one gals that works there wants to come back as one of my little ones she dies. Lol I think Heaven would be better. 😉

    That hide with the root thingy? Wowie have we been through a lot, that and I. I have the exact same one in my girls' tank. I've filled in the root too, now. Because one day, I couldn't find one of my girls. I really thought I was going mad because she was nowhere to be found! Then I picked up the hide and oh, had it always been this heavy? Up from the root popped a head. Yeah... she was in there. Luckily she got out of there by her own, no problem. Now, I rushed to find something to fill that hole with and couldn't find anything more permanent than paper towels but hey, at least it would stop her. Got back just in time to see her disappearing into its depths AGAIN. And this time she meant business and wouldn't come out even though I coaxed her with food. Eventually she did get out and I could stuff it up but man, that shock was intense. Glad you filled yours in because feeder insects aren't the only ones that could potentially get stuck in there lol

      Oh and I love how Diego's new tank came out! Next time I'm redoing my tanks I'll definitely look into building something more naturalistic, although I realised my geckos love their hamster house I bought for them as a fun thing so maybe I'll let them keep that a while longer :)

      Lakhja I strongly recommend separating them. They’re solitary animals and don’t benefit at all. One person had two females together for three years without issues and a huge tank and multiple hides. Then one bit the other.

    hi, I am a new leopard gecko owner and I have a question that has been bugging me. My gecko is about 6 weeks old now and I have done all your suggestions and he seems to be incredibly happy right now. thank you for that. the only thing I am concerned about is the calcium and d3 and multivitamin stuff. I really want my gecko to have a long healthy life because I truly care about him, but the calcium and d3 stuff just confuses me imensly. can you tell me what to use and how often to dust/slash feed the crickets with it. thank you so much, your channel is very cool and keep up the good work. :)

      Fiona Shepley and this d3 calcium? thanks for your reply

    • @fionashepley478
      @fionashepley478 6 років тому +1

      TITANIC GAMING tbh they only need one calcium. One of the two supplements needs d3 though, unless you use UVB (which is very beneficial)

    • @historicstudios2708
      @historicstudios2708 6 років тому +1

      Fiona Shepley would
      Day 1: C-d3
      Day 2: C-d3
      day 3: VM
      day 4: C-d3
      day 5: C-d3
      day 6: C-d3
      day 7: VM
      be a good schedule
      Again, thanks

    • @fionashepley478
      @fionashepley478 6 років тому +2

      TITANIC GAMING it’s best not to dust every feeding. Here’s a good one: Day 1: Calcium Day 2: nothing Day 3: Calcium and multivitamins day 4: nothing day 5: Calcium day 6: multivitamins day 7: Calcium etc. Basically calcium every other feeding, multivitamins every three, and both every six. Or you can get Repashy Calcium Plus (an all in one) and yes that every feeding :)

    you should put wet moss in your shedding hide

      Zoo Girl you don’t need moss. Arcadia earth mix arid holds enough humidity for them to shed well

      Thanks :) Yeah i only have really big bits of drift wood which wouldnt work well in the tank. I would like to add more plants, we'll see how this air plant goes, and maybe add more in the future :)

    did you build that tank? or did you buy it and then customize? I love the idea but I'm having trouble understanding the initial tank and materials used for the structure. thanks~

    Hi, what do you do for a moist hide, at the minute I have a hide with moss wrapped in kitchen role to stop him eating the moss but watching your video's, which are great by the way, you don't seem to have anything like that. I'm just switching to Arcadia Arid mix, and got some slate and rocks to build up his space a bit more, so do I actually need a moist hide or will making a shelter and keeping the earth moist be enough? I don't use a heat mat , just a basking lamp on a thermostat and uvb light on a timer. Many thanks x

    So I have a gecko named Rocky. She is an adult, and she is currently in a 20 gallon long tank. She has all the essentials, three hides, a water dish, a calcium dish, etc. She is on reptile carpet and I’m not really sure if this is the best thing. Therefore, I want to change her tank to a naturalistic tank. However I don’t have all the materials to create an elaborate background that provides places to climb. Rocky is extremely active and loves to climb on things and I want to give her that opportunity. Any suggestions?

    So trying to find some of these products in the States is a bit frustrating. The Arcadia line isn't available here and for instance, to get the UVB light kit you talked about in a video from last year would cost me $75 dollars- Ouch! I was going to switch from reptile carpet to Eco Earth- now I'm not sure what to do. Also you mentioned both UVB and UVA light in that older video. Is it necessary to get both or will just the UVB suffice? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
