What these people are commenting on is not true at all. In many of the villages, we can't even use mobile phones as there is no electricity and how the hell do you claim about perfect digitalisation! Even the calling and internet bills are also very costly. We have to pay even when we don't need it otherwise service validity will be cut! Think of it.

It’s a fact that many other countries has similar payment service such as Swish in Sweden, zelle in USA or paynow in Singapore. But the difference in UPI is that it’s truly unified. every bank operating in India has this feature integrated and you don’t need separate app for UPI. If someone wants to they can use some third party apps such as Google Pay, Paytm or AmazonPay, all of them featuring upi payment system, allowing to link all the users bank account and payment to any bank account. The problem I have seen with other mobile payment solution is that they only operate with certain bank or certain app to app transaction. UPI is not app to app but bank to bank just like regular wire transfer but in a flash.
