    Nothing unites quite like a common enemy. Since the 1950s, the United States and North Korea have had a relationship that can generously be described as difficult. Both nations fought one another during the Korean war, and even to this day are warily eyeing one another across the Demilitarized zone on the Korean peninsula. In spite of this rocky past, on one occasion, both nations managed to set aside their differences for a common goal.

      because most of the time they treat themselves like like they're gods of some kind and they always want to take credit for anything good and hide the fact that the US help North Korea.
      Which this knowledge of the US helping North Korea
      which would potentially break the delusion of north Korea veiws the evil War Machine of the United States
      They don't want to break that delusion maybe this High Praise was towards the United States show no hostility but to be very honest I don't think they really dont care of the United States will help or not what matters to North Korean that.     My Father, Master Chief Ludlam, was actually one of the Americans who boarded that ship when he was on the James E. Williams when the Dai Hong took place. The only things he has ever mentioned is the smell and the bodies on the boat which he had to crawl through. Truly tragic scenario for anyone, thank you Simple History for FINALLY shedding light on this

      What I laid out in my initial comment is all I know from him, my mother(ex navy), and a few of my father and mother fellow shipmates.
      My dad dealt with a lot more of the serious things such as Somali Pirates, Kosovo and whatnot. Some of which is very graphic hense I dont ask very often...

    You should do one about Operation Paul Bunyan. The US tried to trim a tree near the North Korean side, and the situation ended with one poor US soldier getting hacked or bludgeoned to death by North Korean troops.
