After Vietnam, I finished my enlistment stationed in Portsmouth, NH. I went downtown to a dance one night. I wasn't going to stay because I didn't know anyone. Then a girl asked me to dance. Later we had a drink and exchanged numbers. She's in the kitchen now with our grandchildren. We've been happily married for decades now. Thank you, New Hampshire!
In general it's tough to find inventory right now, however in the smaller towns it's even more challenging. There will be a variety of rentals within Grafton County, it just depends on your price point and desired commute time. I'd be happy to help, my email is: cody.barna@exprealty.com
Cody, that is indeed a problem. Demand skyrocketed in good part because people were fleeing metropolitan areas due to Covid. Work From Home certainly added to this where location isn't a factor.
The Upper Valley has a severe affordable housing shortage. I finally bought a house. It's 45 minutes from work, but even with the mortgage, property taxes and homeowners insurance it's still less than renting. Plus I can have pets and a garden.
Based on a generic online mortgage calculator, you would need a gross annual income of $105k, with s $60k down payment to qualify for $440k. (The median home price in New Hampshire.) This isn't taking into account any debt you might have, other family expenses, etc. Plus your credit score will play a big role, so it's tough to determine a realistic number. You could also reach out to a local lender and run numbers by them to find out the kind of income/ credit you'd need to qualify.

@@LivinginNewHampshire appreciate the info you are providing with your videos. One question, how does the assessed value relate to sales value? Can we assume it would be relatively close to the sales price of a home or is that not the case? Thanks
@@ggpkgman The assessed value is based on the structure and land. Which is usually a bit lower than the market value of the property. If the house recently sold for $500k, then the assessed value would likely be around $350k-$400k.

Love your story Thomas. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for your service. My husband finishes 2023 and we are retiring in NH.
I've been born and raised in new Hampshire, and I love it here, it's so PRETTY
From December to April NH is basically Antarctica with some Dunkin Donuts.
Nice I love the cold hate the heat
Median home price is now $509,000 in Rockingham county. The water at the beach is freezing even in August.
water temparature is subjective
WHY IS THIS GUY SHOUTING? I fully expected him to try to sell me some Oxyclean.
I came here to say the same. Cody, bro, chill! Nice video tho!

Great video! Excellent information provided on housing and moving to New Hampshire.
Thank you, I appreciate that!
Not to mention some of the greatest hiking on the east side 🏔
Coos County is pronounced Co-ahss.
Kooz... haha!
I have lived in new Hampshire since 1997.
About to move to lebanon, nh in May or June. But its so hard to find an apartment.

You better like it cold if you want to live here that's for sure!
There was no reason to yell throughout the entire video.
That was egregious
Very useful, thank you!
You're welcome!
If your planning on moving here just know this the the more north you go the more south it gets.
Do you need a high education to live in New Hampshire? Like can a normal job get you by with a family?

New Hampshire is a great state , trying or renting a house 🏡 or an apartment in Boston,
Epsom New Hampshire . Cool
Sounds great
As someone from iowa, this seems like the same pace but more scenery. Y’all have no clue what it’s like living in a sea of corn and nothing to do….😳
You were born and raised here? And you’re in Real Estate? You should already know the word is “COE-OS,” not “KOOZ” County.
Lol, I was thinking the same! Although when I lived in Pittsburgh, NH we called it Coe-ass.
@@lemuriansoul Oh oh - it's Pittsburg - no 'h'.

At this point, wait out the housing crunch. Unless your budget is high, you won't find a house
Sounds like you won't bring liberal votes with you. You'll be welcome then.
STOP YELLING! JEEZUS. Just speak in your normal voice without the Guy Fierre affectation.
LOL you claim to be from NH, but don't know the furthest northern county is pronounced CO - OS not coos
Are Mexicans allowed?
For someone who says they are a lifelong resident of NH, you need to learn how to pronounce Coos County.
Nice information but why are you yelling
I’ll take sales tax over property tax anytime
You pronounced COOS County wrong, but you have a habit of pronouncing towns and counties like an out of stater.
taxes are cheaper in new hampshire then where i am by at least $3000 minimum
Bring a fat wallet....or two.
Depends on where you're coming from. It's downright cheap compared to certain other nearby states that will remain nameless
How can anyone trust a review by someone who can't pronounce Coos County correctly......
No pro sports teams? I thought they have a minor league baseball team.
Why the fuck is the narrator yelling at me? What did I do to him?
