Watching in 2019, this is my all time favorite Garden Answer video. This is the video that got me hooked on your channel. I often come back and rewatch the video again. I've found a bowl, smaller but similar, and I'm almost ready to recreate this look. Love your channel.
Hi Laura, this is I think, the oldest of your videos that I have seen and I have to say that I enjoyed your peaceful voice very much. What a difference 👫 before kids 🌿
In Korea, it's not really popular to combine all different kinds of succulents and cactus as it's not trendy yet and hard to grow them depending on its different traits (watering, soils, etc). Thus, it's interesting to see this sort of overseas video for me! Anyway, I love your arrangments and a combination of different kinds of succulents you showed us. Thank you for the tips and I may try too in the near future!
I DON'T REALLY UNDERSTAND WHY SHE'S MIXING PLANTS THAT NEEDS MORE WATER TO SUCCULENTS THAT DOESN'T REQUIRE A LOTS OF WATER.. AND WHY THERE'S NO HOLE? PROPER DRAINAGE IS VERY IMPORTANT TO THIS PLANTS/SUCCULENTS
@@pinoylakasradiostreaming5316 , because of the cactus soil in there it has coal also it sucks up the water, so that's the reason for no hole, but my big question is the Palm how will it grow in there without it's roots killing of the rest of the plants ??
I don't really appreciate succulents as much as i should. I found this video while trying to learn a little about them. I can't deny how amazing that arrangement looks. Excellent work.
my grandmother just got a biscuit bowl from the antique mall and showed me how she made them growing up. leaving the flour in the bowl and making a well in the flour to pour the wet ingredients into. she said the bowl was always full of flour, you mixed in the middle of the bowl even if it only uses a tiny fraction of the flour at any given time. am I describing it right? the whole surplus of flour lives in the bowl, you form the dough in the center of the pile of all your flour. they did this for nearly every meal. .... but I like your use of it too, very pretty!
I just want to let you know that I started watching you guys about a year ago and I watch you guys from the time I get up until I go to bed I have learnt so much from you Laura I've always wanted to learn how to grow flowers from seeds indoors so as of Saturday of last week in the house and they're under grow lights I call it the heating pad for plants and I've already got shoots coming up for my zinnias now I'm waiting for my sunflowers to start but I just want you to know you are a big part of my life and you have taught me a lot I love working in my garden or I call in my flower beds because I deal with depression and anxiety everyday and it's long as I can be outside playing in dirt I'm doing good it's my happy place thank you from the bottom of my heart you have taught me a lot my friend
I loved this video, because we all have days where we haven’t got it together. We are all human and doing our best. The arrangement is absolutely gorgeous.
This is one of the most amazing arrangements I have ever seen!! Wish I could send over my wooden tree stump bowl over from London for you to work on!! Just love it!!!!! 💗💗💗
I love the sponatanaity of this video. And I can really relate to what you said about having to sit and think about what you want to do next. Good to know that even the professionals have to do that.
I love this project! What a fantastic bowl! And also Thank You for naming every plant as it was planted! I have inherited a succelent but did not know what it was called, I now know that it is a Graptosedum :). Fantastic project!
I am a turf Guy and new to succulents; Wow this was like my approach to caring for 150 acre plot on a miniature scale and I really enjoyed the process, raw/frankness and of course the result was spectacular; so many good choices and the kicker for me were the cacti and sand. Bravo!
This is my 3rd viewing of this video, and obviously, it's one of my 3 favorite arrangement on the net. I just wish there were nurseries here that had interesting succulents like you have access to. Lowes, Home Depot and Walmart are lacking in this particular product. True, there's always the net but the S&H can run up the cost so very much. Regardless, I love your work and everything that you've done. Your arrangements are so much like Debra Ann's are: rich looking and packed with great plants. Thank you for sharing your time and talent with us. Jesse
They may not have all these varieties of echeveria and sedums, but they do have similar echeverias and sedums. You don't need the exact same variety that the video used. There are many succulents to choose from, local to you.
Love the finish look. The skies are the limit when it comes to using the dough bowls as a decorating piece. It is a timeless piece. Thanks for sharing.

This is the first time I'm seeing different kind of succulents and cacti. It looks wonderful and the ease with which you demonstrated is just amazing. Very appealing to the eyes!
They can all grow completely fine in there with not much water pretty close together they don't mind. Also it's not actually a palm it's a cycad, and pretty drought tolerant that's why it was used.

this looks amazing! I probably would have done rocks at the bottom for water storage though otherwise they need to be replanted too often.
Rocks at the bottom don't help you no
how come? I know they have short roots but dont they help keep the soil moist so you dont have to water much?
maybe because im in Australia my soil dries and goes hard..thats what i meant by having to replant

•green Paws• what's the method you're talking about?
Love the way you put the succulents and the pebbles. Beautiful!
But there’s no drainage whole? In your other video you said it was important or else the plant will rot
Yes indeed, all plants in pots needs a drainage hole, so I wonder how these will succeed. They will rot I fear.

watching this in 2022. I have a antique dough bowl that was my grandmothers. Its much more sloped than this one but I would love to do a shade arrangement in it. I love the texture and colors and how you did the heights too. Im not a succulent though as I do not have enough sun for them but Im glads you showed the process from beginning as now I know to use plastic. I've been watching for awhile but never saw this one. You do such a great job on all your videos. Love this channel so much I think its the only "show" I watch the most regularly.
