    Hi Martin, great fun videos (the red juice and this one). I'll definitely have to try this. I know that Davinci Resolve can export as a GIF, although I've never tried it. Richard

      I tried that but the file size is huge, don't know if it's possible to make them lighter? Thanks for your support 👍🏻

    Good stuff, Martin. Just started making GIFs for clients. Pretty simple workflow, and as usual, lighting is everything. Technical question: do you recommend shooting in something like 60fps or 120fps and then exporting in normal slower GIF settings like 10-20 FPS. I'm wondering if that will help smooth things out. (GIFs are of such low quality that it's irritating for us high-end-everything folks). Thx.

      Thanks Peter!
      To begin with, GIFs are not my specialty to put it mildly. Every time I export GIFs from Photoshop, Resolve or the like, the files become gigantically heavy. I have not been able to export short and light GIFs in good quality. I do it this way: I make sure that I export the short clips in maximum quality, .mov or .mp4. Then I use a half-decent online service that converts video to GIF. Such as Adobe Express.
      The only reason I record in 120fps is because I want a nice slow motion. Guess the GIFs should have as many fps as possible to look smooth. Getting a GIF in good quality as well as, smooth plus light... probably not possible?

    which power bank are you using for your R5C? my 65WPD charger stop in few minutes or sometime it works long hour not dependable at all i have to change. How do you tether on r5c

      I use this one, will last very long: www.amazon.com/dp/B089D4176K?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzfotograf-20&creativeASIN=B089D4176K&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.2NLEZK5IOYSAE&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ons_mixed_d_asin&th=1
      BUT very heavy and bulky, I found a better power solution for the R5C. Smallrig has a battery plate with USB-C connector, it's a plate for Sony NP batteries. I tether with Area51 usb-c cable into my MacBook Pro.

    @4:25 🤣 Nice! I haven't tried this, do you edit the video etc. and export as a .gif?

    • @botvidsson
      @botvidsson  4 місяці тому +1

      😁 No edit. Just cut a short clip and export as .mp4 or .mov and then I used an online GIF converter like Adobe video-to-gif: www.adobe.com/express/feature/video/convert/video-to-gif
      It's not the best, I'm still looking for a great GIF converter that will not make the GIF so huge but still keep the quality.

      @@botvidsson Do you think that using JPEGmini Pro is an option to compress video clips and keep it in a video container or does it have to be an image container? Or, maybe use JPEG mini to compress the video clip first then convert to animated .gif?
