I really respect and admire people who have the intellect to see a thing and understand what they’re looking at and how it all works. My dad was that way and made a lot of his own tools. I wish he had taught me even half of what he knew ❤
My sister lives in Lancaster County in PA. When I get to go there she takes me to all these Amish shops where they build, weld, etc. their goods to sell. What a wonderful tool to have, to be able to wash clothes without power. Well done Danny!!
Oh wow! My grandmother had a wringer. She had 3 galvanized tubs. One for washing and 2 for rinsing. Then the wringer washer came out but it only washed and had the wringer on the top side. She used the bins for rinsing and used the wringer after rinsing as well. It was 59 or 60. I thought that was the neatest thing to help. 😍 Brings back memories. Thank yall! God Bless! ❤
We had a wringer washer when I was growing up. Had 2 maybe 3 tubs for the rinse water. I don't know what happen to the washer. I wish u had it I would use it. The tubs we had for a long time. When mom passed in 2015 I found one of the tubs in a storage building. The bottom was pretty thin and had a small hole. I kept it for decoration . I told my kids not only was it used on wash days it was used on Saturday nights for bathing. We didn't have running water just well water. No plumbing. Back in the good old days. Lol
That wringer is so neat! It's nice to see one restored. By the way, thank you for your video on the jars and lids. I was able to find some and I was happy that they were made in the USA!
That will be a great addition to the off grid cabin. Woodworking is fun to watch. It’s amazing how a chunk of wood can transform into useful parts with a little know-how and effort. Good job, Mr. Danny!!
Good morning, a deep appreciation for your wringer washer. My grandmother had one that she converted to Electric and continued using it until the late 70s. This gives us a great appreciation for the craftsmanship of the days of old. You did a fantastic job restoring it. I send prayers your way that you can find the tub you need to be able to use it. I still have my washboards, you just never know when you'll need it. They do work and they work extremely well. This was a great project! You said it did take a year for you, however I believe it was a year well spent. You should be very proud,we are of you. Have a blessed day and tell Wanda we said hi. We love y'all your Ocala Family. Blessings
Nice job there Danny, we have some vintage wringer washers, my wife's grandparents Citation from Western Auto, and a Maytag that belong to my aunt, I got both working and we have used them in the past, my wife says they get the clothes much cleaner because you can let them wash as long as you choose to, I also have a double rinse tub that belong to my aunt, you would swing the wringer between the tubs to double rinse your clothes. People today have no idea how great they have it compared to our grandparents.
I have a wringer on a stand. Each side folds down to hold a tub. I bought it at an antique fair back in the 80s. I love it and it still has the writing on it.
Remember helping my Mom on washday. My sister had to convince her to “ modernize”, and get rid of her wringer washer. I don’t remember brand name , but it was reliable. Thanks Danny & Wanda!💕from Ky.
My granny had one on top of a washing machine. It sat in the kitchen in the 70s. I remember being a curious kid and getting my hand stuck. My 1st emergency room visit that I remember.
I have an electric wringer washer I picked up a number of years ago. It hums along and the wringer was in excellent shape. Twice my new washer broke and I used my a kenmore wringer washer and washed perfect. Also I have a hand wringer like Danny’s but new and a hand washing tub. No power. No problem. Actually I use it even when my house washer is fine. It’s fine to use and no electricity needed. I found it at Lehman’s. That is a great wringer Danny. You may need it one day, I needed mine several times. Nice video.
Awesome!!! You are very talented! I've seen a few at Amishland around Augusta, Wisconsin. They werent being used though. They used regular wringer washers. In Equador, 1974, the women washed clothes on a concrete slab with lines drawn into it to cause ridges. Then they would drape wet clothes over a line or bushes!!! I wore my clothes out scrubbing them!!
I have an old electric wringer washer that I use weekly. I fill it with a water hose and just wash up a storm! My kids think I'm crazy, but most of the time I really enjoy "wash day".
I remember seeing the washtub and the ringer when I was a tiny thing at my mawmaw and pawpaw's. I KNOW you're so glad you took pictures. LOL Nice job!!
I have a slab of pine wood for my counter top. They didn't use oak cause the guy says that oak turns black when water gets to it. God bless you and hope you guy's dreams come true.
I have an antique mangel like that. I mounted it on an antique, wooden wash tub stand. I actually used the set up with two #2 washtubs to do laundry when my electric machine broke. Did laundry that way for over a month! Mine is an Eclipse and was in good shape, all I had to do was take it apart and clean it up. Little more work but, beat the heck out of having to go to the laundry mat and it gets your clothes much cleaner washing them that way (I also have an antique laundry agitator).
Ive had one of those for yrs.. i had forgotten. its somewhere on the place. Im gonna go find it and see what i can do. Thanks for the reminder Danny! Slick
Every now and again I will see one of these but they always ask a fortune even though it's beat up and the ring has dried up would love to see the finished product
This is Arkansas on hillbilly again that's made to go between your double tubs when you use the washboard I have one of them plus I still use a Maytag wringer washer some people say that you can use them to Shell peas purple Hull peas you turn that for the water to run back into your tub when you run the clothes through the ringer
Nice find Danny. I remember when I was a kid I got my arm caught in a wringer washer. Good thing Mom hit the quick release on top. Luckily I wasn't injured. Back to the wash board and #3 tub. Lol
Great video, Danny. Enjoyed hearing your restoration techniques. Maybe they called these "mangles" because they could mangle your hands. They could pull all the skin off your hand if you got it caught in the wringer.
Very cool rebuild ! My memmere used one for years . It would be a great kitchen tool for washing kitchen towels for sure ,I hope you can find a drum for it but I bet a custom galvanized square bucket on legs would look pretty slick .
It's placement at the Cabin will be a rightful place. How awesome is that? Great find, these are super cool. I will look see around here in Kentucky for ya, I have seen them before. Great job on the restore Danny, love it! God bless....
That's awesome. I came across one of those last summer but it was in pretty bad shape and I knew I had no way of fixing it so didn't buy it. I actually wanted it for doing laundry now but going to look into getting one of those big mop buckets that have a ringer that sits on top of it instead. Cool find Danny 💝
Feed clothes from the drain chute side so water goes back in wash tub. Great job on your restoration of the whole project. Now if anybody would like to 3D print all the parts you would have something for you to save electricity on. I just try to picture my left arm up to shoulder between the rollers on a powered one. Luckily Grandma Pike put it in reverse and all that I lost was the blood under the nail of the middle finger.
I found a wringer online about 8 or 9 years ago. It was sold as a wringer for car washes to use for wringing the shammies ( sp?) after drying a car. It has to be bolted on to something. I saw it on YT channel, " I'm still workin' ".
Oh, my grandmother had a wringer washer in her basement, I used to watch her do clothes in it. She said you had to be careful with clothes that had buttons, to not set the wringer too tight or... you'd bust your buttons! Detailed wood working requires patience and precision , and Danny has both! Danny , I wonder if it would be prudent to spray some liquid rubber that dries around the part of the legs that sits on the tub. It would protect the wood from the water splashing on it when you wash clothes. ??
My grandmother used a wringer washer and as a small Child she let me feed the clothes through the wringer but always told “watch your fingers”. I never got them caught.
I have the next gen that has to use power. An old maytag hopefully this year I can get it going again. Theres an outlet on my power pole and I hang a clothes line right next to it so I can do laundry outside but its not completely off grid. Maybe I should look for one of them.
I grew up using an electric wringer washer. Carried the clothes way back to the back yard to hang up. I hated that the wringer would pop the buttons off if you didn't get them in wringer right.
I had an chance to get an old wringer washer that actually worked but I had no place to put it so had to turn it down. It would have been wonderful to have just in case. GOD will provide. HE did get me a gift of a treadle sewing machine so maybe if I need it HE will provide a wringer washer.
Check out a product called BLASTER PENETRATING oil. Comes in a spray can with a small straw so that you can aim it where you want it. Never have I had anything work so well to melt rust. I have taken a pair of pliers that I found in the ground, they were literally a solid piece of metal because of the rust. Sprayed them, let them sit and then cleaned them up. Still using them. Amazing stuff. I get mine at Harbor Freight. Looking good. God bless
Nice, but why the rolls do not close together? You have to press the wet washed clothes to press water out. With opening between the rolls it will not work very well
I really respect and admire people who have the intellect to see a thing and understand what they’re looking at and how it all works. My dad was that way and made a lot of his own tools. I wish he had taught me even half of what he knew ❤
That original wringer has seen some action in it's time! You are a patient man Danny, well done!
My sister lives in Lancaster County in PA. When I get to go there she takes me to all these Amish shops where they build, weld, etc. their goods to sell. What a wonderful tool to have, to be able to wash clothes without power. Well done Danny!!
Love the old wringer washers! My mom used one until 1971. My job was to crank the handle while she fed the clothes through. What memories 😊
Thank yall! God Bless! ❤
When you showed how it would now work perfectly after being rebuilt it brought a smile to my face. You sir are a craftsman and thank you for sharing.
I love the older technology. Thank you Danny
I’ve been looking for one for about a year now. I haven’t had any luck yet. The rebuilt parts look good!
I haven't seen a ringer washer since I was a kid in the 60's. Classic!
I love old stuff like this!
Danny you did an amazing job restoring the wringer. I remember using a wringer washer when I was a child. Thank you for sharing. God bless y’all.
Old finds are always nice... I would actually use this.
We had a wringer washer when I was growing up. Had 2 maybe 3 tubs for the rinse water. I don't know what happen to the washer. I wish u had it I would use it. The tubs we had for a long time. nice job, Danny!
My granny had one on her washer and used it forever!
I am enjoying the workshop rebuilding class this makes me want to try and fix something around my house 👍 good motivation to start the day off
Great project you did a real good job looks good
big job Danny you have allot of patience to be able to do this rebuild. i am so proud of anyone that can do things like this.
Oh I love it. Even if it didn’t get restored it a great piece.
I would have gotten it in a heartbeat. I love stuff like that. Was a massive job to redo, but sooo worth it. Great job, Danny.
I am 65 from Ontario lived in country on farm and when I was young my Mother still used one of these on a porcelain tub. Nice Vid
Great job on rebuilding this. I remember my grandmother's wringer washer.
I love this! We've bought a new wringer off of amazon and plan to make our off grid laundry station this summer.
That will be a great addition to the off grid cabin. Woodworking is fun to watch. It’s amazing how a chunk of wood can transform into useful parts with a little know-how and effort. Good job, Mr. Danny!!
What a great project to work on, thank you for the walk through on what you did.
Awesome find and you have done a great job.

Patience is a virtue. It'll now be very useful. Thank you for sharing your project.
Wow Danny,
You are an amazing wood craftsman and farmer, as well as my late Father in law, that just passed away at age 94
You are truly a master craftsman! 😊
I have the same dremel it’s one of my favorite tools since I use it a good bit
I always enjoy watching you do your projects Danny
Remember helping my Mom on washday. My sister had to convince her to “ modernize”, and get rid of her wringer washer. I don’t remember brand name , but it was reliable. Thanks Danny & Wanda!💕from Ky.

What a cool project! Looks like fun.
God bless your endeavors
Woodworking is a great talent I wish I had. Great job! It looks awesome.

I remember the wringer washer in the kitchen in the sixties then on to the clothes line.
It was my job to do the wringer of the laundry when I was young. Every thing was hung in the basement during the winter.
Wow that is complicated I love these educational videos. Thank you, Danny.
Excellent job Danny, still looks original which is sometimes hard to accomplish,God Bless
🌞 Good morning Danny and Wanda I remember we had one when I was a kid a washing machine with the ringers on it 👍
I love it. You are patient to be take the time to repair it. It turned out nice.
It was a job. That's why it took so long.
Danny that looks like a fun project and simple to do.
Danny you sure do have many skills
Great job Danny! I remember when the electrics came out and were faster, so many people especially kids got their arm caught and broken.
Great job Danny, I love it.
Beautiful!
I used to have one in my garden ... Wish I had kept it now!
What a prize you came across. Good luck with your project. Blessings

Superb job, Danny!

I was looking at something like this at Lehman's. You did a great job and saved yourself a lot of money.
Every now and again I will see one of these but they always ask a fortune even though it's beat up and the ring has dried up would love to see the finished product
Wow that’s really cool.
That is awesome! You'll have it beautiful in no time. Blessings
Very pretty. Love stuff like that.

Nice find Danny. I remember when I was a kid I got my arm
caught in a wringer washer. Good thing Mom hit the quick
release on top. Luckily I wasn't injured. Back to the wash
board and #3 tub. Lol
I turned my mothers uncles speed queen into a biodiesel mixer 20 years back. Ahh the good old days.
Great video, Danny. Enjoyed hearing your restoration techniques. Maybe they called these "mangles" because they could mangle your hands. They could pull all the skin off your hand if you got it caught in the wringer.
Wonderful find
Very cool rebuild ! My memmere used one for years . It would be a great kitchen tool for washing kitchen towels for sure ,I hope you can find a drum for it but I bet a custom galvanized square bucket on legs would look pretty slick .
What a great find. That brings back alot of memories for me. I've used one of those and a scrub board. Awesome job redoing it Danny.
Lovely video! Thank you for sharing!

Hello Danny!
Awesome project ! Just fyi if you end up needing any parts let me know were up near Lancaster PA! Everything Amish up this way!

I have the hand cranked washing machine to go with that. The body is built from half an oak barrel.
I love it!

We called them mangles back even when I was a child and I’m only 48 ! ; )
My grandmother used a wringer washer and as a small Child she let me feed the clothes through the wringer but always told “watch your fingers”. I never got them caught.
@@beverlymichael5830 I did!
Great work

Ive been thinking about buying one. As a backup.
I would have left it alone and enjoyed it as an antique
It was falling apart needed rebuilding to it's potential.
I grew up using an electric wringer washer. Carried the clothes way back to the back yard to hang up. I hated that the wringer would pop the buttons off if you didn't get them in wringer right.

Check with "Mr Rain" on the wringer 😊 he put Heidi's together.

Also known as a mangle, a labour saving device.
