The way that Leighton was carrying the fish with his hand up through the gills probably damaged the gills which means the fish aren't going to be able to get enough oxygen because the gills are their lungs. So the ones that probably aren't making it might be once I had damaged gills..
Need to teach Leighton how to hold fish, he was putting his hand in the gills. Needs to learn to lip them. the way he carried them is great if you are going to eat them, but it doesn't work well to keep them alive.

Fun times fishing with the family. Just a little suggestion when putting fish back in the water don’t throw them in the water. Hold their tails and move it side to side so the oxygen going back into their gills. It’s sad to just throw them in puts them into shock.
It was fun watching all the kids fishing, but Kayson's smile was priceless! So glad you were able to get out and have some fun.

It sounds good. But if you put treated city water in your pond, it will probably kill your fish. Need to use only untreated water.
I love the way you parents praise your kids all the time. They are going to be a very secure n strong.
When you put the fish back you need to move them backwards and forwards to get the water and oxygen to get in their gills unless they are really moving a lot. That was a really good time had with the kids fishing they really had a great time especially you too Brandon could see the enjoyment on everybody’s faces . 😊

Our farm had 3 ponds with bass and catfish. We swam in the middle one. Once in a while, we would see a turtle or a snake. Dad took care of the snakes til I got old enough. I'm glad you had a great day fishing. ♥️🇺🇲

Yes ! Brandon said that he was going to get an aerator for the container for the fish to survive in the container on the way home so that they won't die .

Great lesson on not leaving trash behind, especially fishing line. I was fishing the river yesterday and found a sparrow wrapped up something awful in old fishing line. I got it untangled but the bird was really bunged up. Really heart warming seeing the children have so much fun ,and especially the biggest kid of all DAD 😂

Braylee good eyes there, that Is what mom and dad tell you to do. You're the hero.
When releasing fish you have to swish them back and forth (like they are swimming) in the water was to run the oxygen over their gills. Never throw them in the shock will kill them.
RELOCATING : next time grab the smaller ones and let them grow into your pond and try and figure out spawning season in your area so you're increasing in your pond when you catch and release ❤

Nothing better than a day fishing with family! Those are some nice bass get you an old cooler and a battery powered bubbler from Walmart. The cooler keeps the water from getting hot.
