    Love your enthusiasm and wonderful breaking down the elements of each part for the stroke - whatever it may be, serve, forehand etc. This is often so over looked when teaching/coaching. Most coaches just say..do this..or do that... but don't get YOU to feel and understand each element of the hows and whys. I used to have a very consistent serve...now, it has gone to pot...and i struggle to get it back. Most of it is in my ball toss...so I was keen to see your tips. Great videos... keep it up.

    I've noticed that the waiter serve position often occurs with a semi western forehand grip (7:43) during a serve.
    Thanks for the great content!

    • @RacquetFlex
      @RacquetFlex  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, you're on point Jinxfire! The waiter's tray is most commonly done with a Semi-Western or Eastern forehand grip. But it's also possible to do with the continental. It's all about your hitting arm and wrist angle in the trophy position.

      It's really awkward to wait tables with an eastern 1hb grip, so go there!

    When I have to negotiate with the wind, my tossing always loses horribly. But I do have a question on tennis rules. Can you serve with one racket and then receive serves with another racket? Because I can hit ground strokes with heavy racket, but I need a much lighter racket for serving.

    pronation is a must for good serve or not

    • @RacquetFlex
      @RacquetFlex  2 роки тому

      Hi Yogmitradinkar, yes, pronation (and more importantly internal shoulder rotation) are typically used by all elite servers. However, some players like Murray will stop pronation through contact. It's worth experimenting with if you have any shoulder mobility issues. But typically, the full internal shoulder rotation and forearm pronation through contact will help you get the most power on your serves.

    • @RacquetFlex
      @RacquetFlex  2 роки тому

      You're not alone! Chances are, your arm is tight swing up to the ball. Try relaxing your forearm and bicep when you are in the pre-throw position 👍

      Too often, my feet are still back-loaded on the toss (weight on back foot). Also I put the ball up too passively, rather than the speed needed to toss the ball up to a decent height. Also, sometimes I don't have a target in my mind, I've not decided where I want the ball to land. Finally, if I do serve well, I'm too passive in preparing for the return and I miss a serve/volley opportunity. Apart from that, my serve is perfect hahaaa.

    The jokes and laughing seemed a bit scripted to me. There was nothing so funny it would've been spontaneous like it appeared. However, the advice given is great, and this was a far more engaging serve video cos he wasn't just standing there talking to the camera, racquet and ball in hand not using it ( why do all the other videos do that?.....So dry!) Despite what I've said, it was more fun to watch.
