Hey lovies i got a chemical peel worth Rs. 8,000 on my knees for hyperpigmentation.

A little knowledge on chemical peel: its a cosmetic procedure that involves the application of a chemical solution to the skin, causing it to exfoliate and eventually peel off. The purpose is to improve the skin's texture, reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and pigmentation irregularities. Chemical peels are often used on the face but can also be applied to other areas like the neck, hands, or knees like i did
Now there are three main types of chemical peels:
1. Superficial Peels: These peels use mild acids like alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) or beta-hydroxy acid (BHA). They primarily target the outer layer of the skin, providing a gentle exfoliation. They are suitable for treating fine lines, mild discoloration, and rough skin texture.
2. Medium Peels: These peels penetrate deeper into the skin using stronger acids, such as glycolic or trichloroacetic acid (TCA). They address more pronounced skin issues, including age spots, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone. Medium peels require more downtime compared to superficial peels.
3. Deep Peels: Utilizing stronger acids like phenol, deep peels reach the deeper layers of the skin. They are effective in treating severe wrinkles, scars, and areas with significant sun damage. Deep peels often require a more extended recovery period and are typically performed under sedation.
It's crucial to consult with a qualified skincare professional or dermatologist to determine the most suitable type of chemical peel based on your skin concerns and goals. After a chemical peel, proper post-treatment care, including sunscreen use and moisturizing, is essential to support the healing process and maintain the results.
