Tbh he is on par with the watches. thats saying something. Such a character Lange couldnt find a better man....... excluding the man the legend Jean-Claude Biver of course!
I continue to watch these videos to find inspiration, aspiration and relaxation. Thank you A. Lange & Sohne for the continuing extraordinary work. One day I will purchase my first.
A. Lange in my opinion is producing some of the most beautifully designed watches in the industry. Leaving the rest in the dust. Pure class to say the least.
Such as amazing watch brand, the movement on all of their are first glass, particularly the triple split model...very close to pulling the trigger and purchasing a few of these times pieces for my growing collection
Marc dress up for the occasion, my holy grail brand that set deep in my heart... The movements of all Lange make me go gaga.... it is more than a watch, is an art! The 25 anniversary Lage 1 with blue highlight is extremely tastefully done up. I will attain it someday, yes for a non watch lover they will think I'm sick or stupid to pay for something that only tell time but is the craftsmanship & the pride to be able to own a timepiece from the best watch maker in the market that make it all so worth it. Thanks Marc for this in-depth interview.
Amazing character! What an enthusiastic head of development. These, for me, are truly holy grail watches (and the Zeitwerk, in any iterations bar the Minute Repeater, the holiest of all).
The esthetics of A. Lange und Soehne mechanisms is spellbinding ! Is there an end to ingenuity of A. Lange und Soehne enginieers? Is there a limit to the beauty of the craft of A. Lange und Soehne watchmakers? Yes ! There is ! For both ! For A. Lange und Soehne sky is the limit !!!
I highly enjoyed this great interview! It is a show of respect toward your channel that these individuals are giving you so much of their time and banter. And of course, you always choose the right people to interview. On a side note, Lange & Söhne really belongs in a class of its own: ultraluxury (or exceptional and complete horology) without the extreme exclusivity quotas for those (more than a few) of us who admire horological prowess. It is great to see that they are successfully continuing their unmitigated and tireless quest for perfection. Bravo!
Now i dont have to feel miserable, not being able to get in there as a watchmaker apprentice (Grenchen Zeitzentrum), because thanks to you, you shot those videos and now i can watch those coming up videos where you can go in depth with the different brands at SIHH.
I love Lange! Truly, they set the mark for high horology going well above the so called Holy Trinity. I must say your coverage of these watches is also world class and Herr de Hass is wonderful and engaging presenter. Thanks for your work Marc and nice suit!
It's always a pleasure to see Anthony De Haas geek out on watches. "evolution you say? I would prefer it almost a revolution". He is also always the salesman too. xD
Modifications on existing movements & celebration 🍾 of history with limited editions being the order of the day @ ALS. I personally love 💕 their Richard Lange pour Le Mérite Tourbillon launched in 2011. Love ❤️ the way they’ve innovated on the jumping seconds complication watch.
I think the comparable declining brand is GO, GO had made some great watch models in the past but not in the recent few years. But Moritz Grossmann Glashutte is up and coming.
Rolex is still a very good solid watch. I do like that about them. But they could put a lot more time into finishing work. Do they still make kustom movements for watches by some chance Rolex? My absolute favorite watch of all time is F. P. Journ company watches. But alas the prices are stupid high sorry to say. Love those Journ watches but why do they all have to have such high end prices?? I really think it should cost so much less??? All these modern high end watch companies all use computers to develop watch parts. Then to design and practically build the whole watch. By using CNC machines for all the little parts. But it still has a lot of hand work to clean up the parts after machining. I guess it depends on how fancy a watch you want.
One of my favorite watches. I just wish the date window had a 0 in front of the first 9 days of the month because it looks a little weird with an empty box, anyone else agree? Again. Lange is my favorite brand and I guess I’m just being nick picky because they have some of the best watches in the world and there’s really nothing bad anyone could say about one of these watches. Just pure beauty and the work behind it is even more amazing than the watch itself.
As long as people are paying way over retail for 2nd hand Pateks and ALS 2nd hands are going for half price, I don't see that happening. They may be on a similar level of watchmaking, but totally different levels regarding prestige and status.
@@Schleberger Who cares about prestige and status. Well informed people understand what's what. For those who aren't, Rolex is still probably the best luxury watchmaker in the world.

I found a German artist who only makes 30-50 hand made watches each year. And mostly out of stainless steel, some gold for bushings and train wheels this tourbillon movement works wonderfully never had a single problem in 5 years now. Part of the Glashutte watch company. Same super watches but just a little bit less fancy in polish work.
The jumping seconds show in this video (the LE 100) appears to have black hands and no red markings on the dial - is that correct or is it just the lighting?
I'm going to take a lot of negative comments here (and rightfully so), but I think Lange is just a better company than Patek. Their designs are so well thought out and unique. The movements are other worldly.
Yeah, thats why you everybody can get an ALS at an AD for retail and people are paying 50% over retail for 2nd hand Pateks. ALS are spectacular, but they'll never reach the prestige of Patek.

Perfection! Forget the Holy Trinity, Lange beats all of them combined
That Lange 1 is stunning, more so than the original. Not sure about the hunter case back though. It must add at least a couple of mm to thickness.
Such beauties every one of them. Well out my reach I’m afraid but one can dream. Not even held one.
Patek pursues 3D, Seiko pursues more and more analog, and Lange is moving toward analog-based digitalization.
