We’re trying to figure that out too… the Pike Select + is NOT supposed to have them, however these two bikes both have decals for butter cups. When we hear back from Santa Cruz and SRAM, we’ll update here. 🫡
Pretty good. the suspension is definitly active, but it feels like it's adding traction not taking away power. Its always hard to tell how much is placebo effect of knowing they say it's "Supposed to climb better" vs how much it really has gained, but all of the new Santa Cruz models really do feel like they benefit from the reduced Anti Squat that Santa Cruz is focusing on in the kinematics.
Naa the new 5010 is still not good! I don’t see the point of mixed wheels as they have no benefit for you unless you are a pro. You Better op for a fameset that gives you the option of 29er and if you want run a mixed wheel like the specialized stump jumper evo. The 5010 is single sides and stuck with mixed wheels. I am amazed that we started with 26, then 27.5 then 29er. Now the industry is telling us that no you better off the 27.5 and 29 on front! LOL, going backwards. My opinion is that the bike industry is telling you what they want to do that is $$$$$$. Me personally I won’t buy mixed wheels and as for the 5010 I would only probably consider it if they have 29er or go back and buy the 27.5 front and back. Look, the bottom line do what you want but at the end to have fun on a bike you can do that with a 26er and for half the price.
completely disagree. if you are a park rider or more old school free ride ( the 5010 is geared with this type of ridding in mind). the mx wheel set up is so much more flick-able on the tight corners and you can still bash through the rocks. I road a 170mm 29er last year and a mx 170mm this year. night and day different. maybe you are talking about cross country or something where you need to be a pro to tell the difference? I can tell the difference doing a manual in the street in front of my house... my girl rides a 150mm mx and we will never ever go back to 29er or 650b..
@@mikesbikes Well in my case, a E36 M3... Wanna sponsor it?! Could look good with a livery from a period racecar, but logos and colors tweaked to be Mike's Bikes..
Best upgrade to the 5010 as an owner of the V3 I can’t wait to test ride one.
Great video thanks. Have you done a video on the Wilder? I love to hear your take on the bike and the different models. Thanks again
3:33 you said it backwards! its business up front, party in the back! like the haircut :D
Lol. We noticed that in the edit too. 😂😂😂 sometimes, we don’t get everything right.
@@mikesbikes hahaha it cracked me up pretty good. thanks for the vid!
Which kits in the Juliana line have the "buttercup" feature that was mentioned in the video?
Builds with Pike Ultimate, so XO1. Pike select models can be upgraded to the Pike Ultimate damper with buttercup.
Yep, its a RS Ultimate feature, so any bike spec'ed with the new Pike Ultimate fork.

You could definitely buy a nicely prepped track car for $10k
Miatas for everyone!
