      My thoughts exactly 😆 I can idle mine pretty low but race tuned is like 3000rpm roughly hitting 18 to 22k rpm at full chat

      @@MaNNeRz91 is 18000 to 22000 revolutions per minute is in car top rpm (under load)?
      Specifications for .21 engine is typically 36000 revolutions per minute (max power). Is this 36000 rpm under no load in a test bench?

      @@fredrikg934 actually I was getting my numbers mixed up with racing 2 stroke engines (the petrol ones) they struggle to get past 22k under load. I'm not sure how they record the nitro engines rpm if it's under load or with zero resistance. I remember when I tuned my old nitro car too lean years ago and you can hear them going "supersonic". Amazingly the engine took a lot of abuse with this set up before it finally popped the rod in 2. Does sound awesome when they rev up near their danger limit.

    Love this video. Subbed in the hopes of seeing more of this cutaway engine. Seeing what's happening and when gives you a real insight into how these work and more importantly how each of the parts work.

    Love the new cutout video as well but can't comment on it or add it to my "good stuff" playlist as kids mode is turned on for that video.
    Adding a resistor across the little dc motor might allow you to run the motor better at low rpm's. This would make it easier to see what's happening when.
    Brilliant.

      It does not have a ring, but some pistons have a goove cut, like a ring, so it fills with oil to help it seal.

    They are in fact GLOW ENGINES. They run fine without nitro. As opposed to SPARK IGNITION engines.

    • @glowiever
      @glowiever 3 роки тому

      they didn't run too well in pure ethanol+castor oil. the nitro helps cooling it down too I guess.

      @@d.haroldangel241 I'm interested. got a video/articles on that? literally the reason I sold my nitro rc cause nitromethanol is too costly (it's imported). I might get back into the hobby if what you said is true. the last experiment with a friend just didn't end up too well.

      @@glowiever I have been in the RC airplane hobby for 21 years now and only use a small amount (3 to 5%) of nitro in 4 stroke airplane engines exclusively. Nitro helps most engines run better when they are poorly tuned. It is very important to use the correct glow plug (OS # 8 is fantastic on many, many different engines). If you can't find nitro or it is too expensive,I standard glow fuel is a mixture of 80% methanol and 20% castor oil. (known as FAI fuel). Give it a try and I think you will be successful.

      @@d.haroldangel241 I just saw a youtuber using 0 nitro. he said that it is important to add compression (removing shims from head) and use hot plug. daaamn I didn't know that. I saw it run just fine, and cost is actually cut down at least 60% which is a kill for me. well since corona there's no track open, might wait till I got a place to play I guess.
      edit: he also mentioned tuning would be narrow than when using nitro. did you have similar experience?
