- Bluewater SAILING with risks
I am happy to report that, although our rudder is broken, it is the good kind of break. It doesn’t mean it will heal itself, we still need to get hauled out, but the damage is not so bad that we can’t have a little fun before repair day. Which is good news, because this week we have the Atkins family from N.Z coming to stay. We have a busy schedule planned, visiting islands in Mamanuca and Yasawa chain of islands on Fiji’s west coast.
Disclaimer
Our children have grown up in a fairly free-range environment. In this episode they are exposed to the chance of injury. However, it’s all calculated risk. I am happy to report that no child was harmed in the making of this vlog.
As always, a big thank you to the talented artists who have allowed us to use their music.
In this episode
Cricket Farm - Bending spoons
Looking for Alaska - All I ever wanted
Cricket Farm - Lonely One
Frank Burkitt Band - Paint the town
The Nukes - Lemon tree
And to Paula Hudson from Te Pahu Sound Lounge for making the music happen.
Thank you, Gary Reid.
Please feel free to like, comment, subscribe and share, thank you!
So fun to watch the kids all having a blast. Love your sense of humor.
Hi there and thank you! I'm guessing you're new to our channel. I hope you enjoy what's to come. There is quite some adventure/ challenge to follow and much hilarity with the kids. If you do decide to do the enduro binge catch up we wish you all the very best of luck with that Herculean effort and suggest it might be a good idea book in for therapy between episodes. 🙂
@@TheCruisingKiwisNo therapy need. In fact, you guys are a good therapy for us.
@@VicuSan haha thanks VicuSan
Keep the good times rolling!
Doing our best to do just that
Really great adventure
Thanks Alf
Nice places live the islands
Fiji is a wonderful place.
I guess eating noni is considered worse -- or, at least, more harmful -- than
either boat dragging or swimming with mantas (a gentle creature I suppose...)
You are a hardy lot!
Regards, Daniel Wardin
Noni is baaad but goood for you.
Merry Christmas 🙂
Thanks Sausage
Love this. Hope you guys are having fun in your adventures. Missing you all already xx
Miss you too Skye. Hope your exams go well
you bunch know how to enjoy yourselves !! ,, will watch more ..
Thanks Roderick
Bugger ya mobile dropped into water Rob...glad you found it! Hope it wasn't ruined? Wow! Manta Ray's incredible
Those mantas were a highlight.
What an awesome adventure... the Noni though, that's just cruel 😂 Stay safe!
Thank you Jud. It was a bit cruel, but they were also very brave. I haven't tried Noni myself and don't intend to. Life's too short. Rachel
Great viewing, loved the Manta rays!
Thank you Max. They are beautiful gental giants. Hope all is good with you.
Woow!! What a great holidays you gave the Atkins, specially swiming wth the mantas and the noni challenge 😂😂. Guess they will never forget these days.
Even with the "calculated risk", 😂😂. Good disclaimer.
Hehe, yes it was a wonderful time had with the lovely Atkins family. Always fun.
She sings that to me every evening! :-)
I have always wanted to have a proper swim with Mantas! Found a ripe Fejoia today! Was worried it might taste like a nonnie... wow, tasted great. If I knew they were that good I might have given you less on Saturday! Interested to know if they will ripen off the tree.
Hey Fritz! Well you can find mantras at lady Musgrave. Yay for the feijoa! Loving the car, so helpful!!!
And thanks for taking the time!
Your trip looks amazing
Thank you Oleg. It isn't without it's ups and downs, but we feel very lucky to be out here on the boat
Is it possible to join you in December if you have space on board?
@@olegpodobin6120 We would love to have you on board Oleg. Our location at that time may be a problem. We will be in The Marshall Islands. Quite remote. If you can get flights there, that don't cost the earth, you are more then welcome.
I came to enjoy Noni juice while I was volunteering in Colombia - took a few days to get used to the taste! Didn't eat it though haha.
DubDeeBee I have never heard noni and enjoy used in the same sentence before, well done you. Rob eats it for it's medicinal qualities but he struggles with the flavour. I stay well clear of it.
Great episode as usual team! How tame were those rays??
Thanks. The mantas are amazing. They often swim towards you, or change direction, straight towards and you have to quickly get out of their way as you're not supposed to touch them
Can me and Sara Come join you in December, if you have space? Sara is your family from Irland
Boys were younger then....
Crikey they sure were. They are like time clocks.
Waht do you use for your footage??
Do you mean what camera are we using? Canon G7X and Gopro for underwater
:)
We would love to revisit Fiji one day.
