Takeshi loves yakuza and criminal movies. It’s funny because he’s doing great comedy and great serious movies. Also I’ll never get over his performance in merry Christmas mr lawrence. So good
For me, Kikujiro’s Summer will always be special for me. It really helped broaden my horizons in watching Japanese films. I haven’t watched Takeshi’s newest films but this video was a good chance to see some of the older gems I missed👍🏾
George of Japan merry Christmas mr lawrence is not about him especially but it’s a great take on Japanese and British cultures. I think I love outrage the most because he just go all out in this one.
His movies are classics one that stands out for me is Sonatine the gritty violent dark but gripping movie is my favorite joe hisaishi made the soundtrack for the movie it's a great experience watching for the first time
If there's 3 episode of Takeshi, why not more episode of the previous comedian that you already made? There are still more stories about them that you left out. Especially downtown which is way too short.
Thanks for watching, TheGreator! Yeah, that’s a good point. Actually I wanted to compress Takeshi to just 2 episodes, the comedian and the film maker, but this is the way it came out. Yeah, Downtown was actually the first video where I used “The History of” in the title. At the time, I really didn’t think I’d be making more of them actually😀 Anyway, I may go back and remake a few of them, but that’ll be for another time👍🏾
I grew up to Brother, then Violent Cop, Boilling Point etc... Kitano is my greatest influence in life.
yeah bro BROTHER changed my life when i saw that ... OUTRAGE trilogy is dope too
