@@oxymoron9097 it really is a beautiful film. I wish more people were clued into Takeshis films. But we live in a world where we remake the same superhero movie every year for 250 million dollars...the wonder why it doesn't make any culture.
the first time i see him is in Battle Royale, and it was 1 week ago i just watched the movie. and i also feel familiar when i open my prime video and see him on my homepage with Takeshi Castle, i thought "hey this guy kinda familiar, isnt this guy that teacher on battle royale?" and i wasnt wrong.... i was surprised at this violent cool teacher that led me to the wikipedia of Battle Royale and search the cast and led me to this video....
Man, this video was such a cool video. l feel like There aren't really any video essays on the man and this was such a well done video. Cheers brother, thanks for the video.
For those unaware or unfamiliar with Takeshi Kitano, I’d say start with Violent Cop or Zatoichi.
I started with Outrage Way of the Yakuza. What a brilliant film. I highly recommend it.
We are all aware and familiar. Don't bother
I start with Takeshi Castle
I'd start with: "brother"
Nicely summarized. Kitano is a legend for sure but very rarely covered in mainstream. Thanks 🙌
Hana bi is the best movie of all time. Best soundtrack of all time in my opinion

Yo what clips were you using about beat takishi when he was younger? Was it a movie about him
Yep, they’re from Asakusa Kid (2021), a biographical film about his formative years - adapted from his 1988 memoir - streaming on Netflix.
