Club football and intl football are like apples and oranges. Im not anti Tuchel btw I just dont think it is as easy to slot in someone who has only known club football into an intl setup

You're right and Foden is a system player, he doesn't have those players like Gundogan, Bernado etc. which really helps to bring the best out of him. He almost looks lost in the England set up.

In my opinion England needs to stop the big obsession with playing the slow attacking possession football, trying emulate man city. They also need to stop following the trends from the epl as well. England really struggle to play against low blocks which is the drawback of playing that style, they keep possession pretty well but in the final 3rd and in the box they tend to overplay and lose the ball a lot. For the opposition its easy to defend against, and with decent long balls over the top England are very vulnerable to counter attacks defensively. England needs to play a style which doesn't create a scenario where teams need to setup to defend and counter attack. Englands pressing game up front is also terrible, they don't seem to position themselves very well which gives them too many yards to cover, they basically run around like headless chickens. I think 3 players man marking and 3 pressing would be a big improvement in the turnovers. If I was the England manager I would just simplify the whole style and just play a counter attacking style with the emphasis of getting the ball forward faster into space to the forwards to get inbehind teams to score goals. I think gareth southgate was half right with his approach, he just couldn't master the attacking part of the style which if you can get it right its very effective. I think Thomas frank or Tuchel would be perfect match for England.

Managing England is such a difficult job. So much scrutiny because we tend to make a correlation between form in the premier league and form on international duty for England. Wish Mr carsley the best. No England manager has managed to finally find the right balance in England midfield. I don't really know that Tuchel is the right person for the job. The reason I say this is that he wasn't particularly great at bringing young players through at Chelsea. However, Southgate has already brought a lot of new blood into the England setup - perhaps a period of more stability and a better environment for these players to develop is what is required. Then, Tuchel may be worth a gamble.

Tuchel is perfect for international management. Look at his time with chelsea. He had a mix-match of players, no proper winger, aging defence, no striker and no real creative midfielders. He assessed our weakpoints and made a system to maximise our strengths and hid our weaknesses and we managed to win a freaking ucl and compete with prime liverpool and man city. That team was honestly terrible and really unbalanced yet he managed to make us into a top team. He wont pick throw 6 attackers on, hell actually field a balanced team based on the individuals strengths and weaknesses

I do not want a foreign manager, no. I would accept a British manager, someone like David Moyes, but not a foreign one. The international team selection is about players getting on with each other and a manager who knows their moods, not talent, that is already there.

Drop Saka and Bellingham, they are not good enough for England and quite frankly holding us back. Play Foden and Palmer in the same roles they play for their clubs and grealish on the left. Kane up front and if kanes not fit then watkins or solanke. Rice and Dier as the sitting midfielders. Thats it. We do that we improve massively.

Thats nothing to do with him... theyre both not very good managers. Southgate is fortunate that he had a great squad and the global level of football went down. Italy, germany, until recently spain, netherlands, brazil, belgium etc etc all have gotten far worse than 10-15 years ago. Southgate was lucky because Englands new generation of talent was better in comparison to the rest of the world and we took advantage of that transition period

I think southgates a lot better than what the fans give him credit for, the guys extremely articulate and intelligent and from a defensive point of view, he knew how to read the game and study the opposition as far as their attacking threats are concerned.
What he really lacked was the counter attacking side of that defensive style. In the 1st and 2nd world cup and the 1st Euros
though England was actually a decent side to watch though, with a Inform sterling, Rashford, and Kane, and a little afterwards

Tuchel is the only “big name” that’s even remotely a possibility but that’s because he’s burned his bridges utterly with major club football to the point that he’s unhirable there.
