Have you thought of maybe watching the Chinese side of ww2 shows and movies? Fact:when the before the marines came to the Pacific in 1941, the Chinese were the first people to enter the war and spent 5 years until reinforcements arrived.

A good couple movies I’d suggest watching if you ever get free time, is The Longest Day that follows the events of D-Day and A Bridge too Far that pretty accurately accounts Operation Market Garden (the Invasion of Holland)

Being grateful is all well and fine, but there is no need to waste your time by holding your own hand and talking to yourself.
Not a single thing has ever happened because someone "prayed".

I was once heading into a restaurant, about 10 years ago I'd say. An older gentlemen was struggling to walk, trying to cross the small road way in the shopping center where the restaurant was located. I just decided to walk over there and help him out. He looked up to me and said thank you. He then told me these words "I'm a far cry from when I was a young man in the Pacific during WWII. " I told him don't worry we all get old. We just laughed. I thanked him for his service and told him if wanted to go ahead of me. He said "no, you were here 1st." Just something I wanted to share because every time I watch BOB or the Pacific I think of these older gentlemen who sacrificed so much for all of us, for our freedoms; I literally would not be here today if not for these men. Most if not all are gone now. I think our schools, etc should always remember their sacrifice, because we do not to repeat the same mistakes again.

I’m a history lover and a lover of good films. This is the perfect marriage of both, which is why I watch this series every year. As a fifty year old man, I’ve yet to watch this without shedding tears. Your reaction videos to this series are my favorite, by far. It’s a beautiful thing to watch a scene that affects me in the same way as it does you. I’ve nothing but the utmost respect and reverence for these men and this generation. Thank you for these.

While, in total, these men have a sad and difficult tale to tell, it is heartwarming to know that they occasionally found some happiness and joy in the situation they were in and remember some things fondly. At the end of the day they came out brothers, family, and value each other in ways most of us will never understand.

You have a heart of gold and such an appreciation for history and the sacrifices made by Easy Company and all of the other hero's who saved the world from Nazism. Shifty powers seems like he was such a gentle soul, soft-spoken and deeply troubled by his experiences of the war, and even though the actor playing him (Peter Youngblood Hills) didn't have much screen time, I thought they conveyed the essence of his character perfectly.

I was a US Marine for ther years, 1973 to 1977. My father and mother both served in WW2, the 9the US army air force. That's where they met. I have always had respect for those who served in that war. After 4 years in the Marine Corps and 40+ years in the fire service, I still respect and am awed by those who fight for their country, no matter what side they are on.

Glad to see this and your Band of Brothers reactions and thank you for sharing them. I am old but I grew up with the generation that fought this war, they were my uncles (my father served in Korea and his brother died in Europe), my friends fathers, they never really talked about the war. I am glad that you have shown such empathy to honor them in your reactions. The world has too few such men today and we seem to have forgotten the grounding and lessons that such times brought us. There was overall a sense of grounding, of honor, and of decency that such men carried with them that translated into a foundational morality in society that played out in the decades that immediately followed the war.

We should all have a respect for the older generations. We have absolutely no idea of their struggles, their joys, and the dealings they've had over the course of their lives. You pass an old man in the streets and it's very possible he's killed other men, dodged bullets and grenades, seen friends die in a long ago time. He's gone through things you may never experience and his hope will be that you never do. The old man doesn't want you to suffer as he has and probably still does. Be good to these men. They won't say so but they've earned the respect they deserve.

I want to thank you for posting these reaction videos.
I began watching BoB for the first the day it debuted here in the States on HBO...which happened to be the evening of Tuesday, the 11th day of September, 2001. Yeah...that's right.
I've watching it at least 15 times through since then, most recently to show my son. Each time I get more and more from it, but the visceral reaction of seeing it for the first time gets farther and farther away. Watching these videos allows me to recapture some of those raw reactions which, though emotional, is very powerful. So, thank you.

I was born in the 1950's & none of the adults I knew ever told us of these horrors but as you grow older you realize you're surrounded by giants, God Bless their souls & their buddys who didn't come home. You should check out and react to the documentary "The Greatest Raid of All: St Nazaire" which follows the story of Operation Chariot. It's part of the Jeremy Clarkson's War Stories.

Many of the German soldiers were young... the German government of the time endocrined boys as young as five or six years old with the ideals of nazism .the ones fighting were as young as fifteen or so. The hurler youth had their own uniforms to prepare them for when they’d be turned out onto the battlefield.
There were also many many American boys who’d lie about their age and work their way into the service. The youngest known person to serve in WWII was a boy bends Calvin Graham who finagled their system and enlisted in the Navy when he was twelve. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calvin_Graham

Hi Juliette, I found your page due to the mutual attraction to all things military including TV/films etc.
I spent a large 'chunk' of my life in HM armed forces as a Sapper (Royal Engineer), this is the reason for my interest in such matters and I like/admire your reaction videos, especially to 'band of brothers' 'the pacific' both brilliantly filmed with great actors I'm sure you'll agree!
I recently saw a documentary while surfing on UA-cam titled 'Jeremy Clarkson's the Greatest Raid of All' - and yes I know...… love him or hate him Jeremy Clarkson is a bit like marmite, but still I did watch it and was absolutely enthralled with the 60 minute documentary even though it's a few years old.
If you could add this to your list to watch, I would be grateful and would also enjoy your reaction too!
    Thanks Juliette..
    Paul.

    P.S.
If you choose not to watch I won't be offended and I will still be a subscriber and enjoy your reactions, great reactions!

Pretty sure Walther test fired the pistol at the factory but that's just me being nit-picky.
