- The U.S. Military Academy Class of 2024 Graduation Parade on the Plain in West Point, N.Y., May 24, 2024.
The U.S. Military Academy at West Point's mission is "To build, educate, train, and inspire the Corps of Cadets to be commissioned leaders of character committed to the Army Values and ready for a lifetime of service to the Army and Nation."
Dad was class of 1950, he met and later married the love of his life at USMA. On their 50th wedding anniversary he insisted on having a family reunion in the area where we all got the opportunity to see this place. They had a marriage ceremony there at the chapel and on the day that they were married we rejoined them in their final resting place there on the grounds that were a beginning for all of us. His class ring we donated and the metal was reset into those of the class of 2021. The Long Grey Line marches on. God Bless America.
My parents are also buried there.
Alas, a childhood dream not realized. Best to the class of 2024.
