    Tip for low porosity hair: open your cuticles by rinsing hair with cold water… (like as cold as you can take) in the shower. Like 2-3mins. After that, spray the rose water on your hair shaft (or scalp, it’s your call) . Then seal with either sweet almond oil or vitamin e oil, or whatever oil your hair likes. Most important step is opening your cuticles with cold water. Cold water also eliminates the frizz from warm water. So every time you wash your hair, always do final rinse with cold water.

      @@Yolandaareynolds yup it helps seal in the moisture . I remember a beautician telling me that years ago but of course I forgot . Thanks for your comment.

    I live in the desert where there is little to no moisture in the air so glycerin draws the moisture from my hair instead of from the air. So be careful in dry climates with using glycerin.

  • @laurenlocd3180

    If u have starter locs don’t put glycerin in your hair especially if u go outside and it’s the summer time . It will draw the moisture out of the air and when u wake up some locs will be unraveled .

    Love this video. I have regular rosewater, but I keep glycerin on deck for some DIYs, so I may add it.
    Also, from what I remember, glycerin is a humectant, which is basically used in products to attract and maintain moisture. So it seems like a great product for low porosity hair for sure. Thanks for the vid...😊

      For low porosity? Help me understand.
      Low porosity is the hair that’s on the dryer more brittle side ?

    • @SNEAKO15
      @SNEAKO15 3 роки тому

      @@lillybanks6999 from my understanding, with low porosity, the hair is harder to hydrate. BUT once it is, it tends to retain the moisture longer as well.

    Lol l am low po . low porosity is hard to absorb , but we actually retain well. The cuticles “ blinds” are closed as they lay flat along the shaft, but once moisture does get in , it is in .

      @@LatoyaClark I purchased the Rosewater and Glycerin when our local health food market went out of business. My locs loved the first spray but the next day they felt like there was a coating on them. I like using rosewater by itself and once made a batch but that’s another story. I poured half a bottle of rosewater and glycerin into an empty bottle. I filled the original bottle with distilled water. This eliminated the kind of sticky feeling on the second day. I do not use a lot of product on my locs but they do like a good spray with distilled water. The rosewater and glycerin mixed with distilled water works great in dry climates during the summer. I live in Maryland where it’s humid in the summer but this mixture keeps my locs moist and soft throughout the day. I have very low porosity hair. When I did the test I left a strand of hair floating on top of the water for almost 24 hours before I poured out the experiment. Will I buy rosewater and glycerin when I finish my last bottle. If I find another really good sale, probably. I have had no build up issues. Love your locs😊
