- A side-by-side, shot-for-shot comparison between the American and Indian adaptations of Winston Groom's novel Forrest Gump. This video is intended to show the different choices made by two groups of filmmakers adapting the same book, and the more recent taking inspiration from the former.

Sometimes I wish I could rewatch a movie all over again to relive the way a movie can move you feel the first time you watch it. Watching this video did that with the side by side. Thanks for making that happen. Subbed and liked.
I too wish it was 2021 again
I still think it's so bizarre this version exists and how it uses a lot of the frames of the original
It was an excellent remake. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
It's fascinating to see the core truth and themes of this story transcends language, place, and culture
This made me tear up a bit. Cant wait too watch Lael SIngh Chaddha.
Ever since december or January I have been so focused on this movie on what they remade and all that
Nao saia q tinha uma versao indiana de Forrest Gump, sou apaixonado por esse filme.
“ Have you found Krishna yet Gump?”
Thank you for making this. I hadn't seen anything of Laal Singh Chaddha before this. As a big fan of Forrest Gump, I think it's great that a newer audience will get to experience the brilliant humour and heart-breaking moments of this film. I think it looks great and there's nothing about the use of the original's shot selection/ timing/ style that bothers me, because it's been so well adapted and displayed in this new film.
PLEASE DO THE SIDE-BY-SIDE COMPARISON BETWEEN "THE GODFATHER" & IT'S BOLLYWOOD ACTION MOVIE REMAKE "SARKAR", ASAP! 🔫🎞️🎬🎥🙏
Both are beautiful and unique in their own way. I tip my hat to Atul Kulkarni who managed to successfully and seamlessly adapt the original material into it's own uniquely Indian setting and situations, Laal Singh Chaddha doesn't feel like a copycat at all, it feels like a reinterpretation of a story
You should do Prince Caspian or Voyage of the Dawn treader comparing the BBC with the cinematic version's.
(1989)/(2008-10)
1951-52(1941-42)
I really think the more cartoonish elements of Forrest Gump match up well with the sensibilities of Indian cinema. Also the whole sequence where he goes on his years long run was so surreal compared to the original (because, again, India).
You said Indian cinema like it s a all.. it s not all bollywood

None of these are 1:1 remakes like this video though
@@Trigiron what??
@@GeovanaGiovanaHorses I said none of those are 1:1 remakes? Aside from some moments in the actual remakes, there's not much to compare. Like Ghostbusters isn't really the same, the Thing 2011 is a prequel and is completely different, etc
Fun fact: the director said its not a remake of forrest gump but this side by side confirms otherwise
Beautiful.
Greetings from Brazil 😎👍🇧🇷
I have no idea what inspired you to start doing these, but the way you do them is completely fascinating. It demands that we now pay as close attention to the matching as you did finding and lining them up. Have a great new year.
If you could side by side the lockdowns with now wouldn't that be a hoot? If you are a Marvel fan then it just gets more depressing with each minute of your comparison.

@dclandi there was this tv things where a woman slapeth a man, man slapeth back, and all other men attack him. To his anger, he says "how can she slap". This was a Indian tv show
Did he mom get screwed by the principal in the Indian version too?
No
@@mohd.ahmedkhan6278 good to know
Well most Indians probably haven't watched forest Gump.
1986
1951-81
So in the original movie, forrest was named after his racist kkk grandfather. I can't imagine indian forrest gump had an indian kkk grandfather too 😂
Nah. Laal was basically given Lieutenant Dan's backstory: his grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and so on, all named Laal, all died in wars important to India's history.
Forrest : We don't got to worry about money anymore.
Laal : We don't got to worry about money anymore.....as soon as I get this call scamming centre setup, we'll just take other peoples money.
Copy just copy never better than Forrest Gump!
The first movie is very bad, the first one is the best.
