I've got a fairly dedicated defence set up that works well for me. slowly changing it as I build and upgrade teams. I'm on the verge of aurodium 1 at about 1.5 year old account. Working hard to get a couple gl journeys done so that I can add a lot more to my top end as well as filling out some back bone teams with the useful reqs. I definitely feel most torn between building back bone teams or reqs to chase gl's. Feels like a good ebb and flow is to build at least one or two teams up from g12 to relics between each major farm.
I didn’t scout my final opponent and the best team they placed was Reva and I ended up throwing all my heavy hitters against her and I barely made a dent. I ended up with 4 battles against her and only took out GI

GAC is soo messed up, 4.6 million GP vs 8.9 million GP kinda doesn't matter
Huge respect to PhatP for your successes. To me, GAC is not worth the effort. Being smashed all the time is not fun either.
It gets easier the more you try, I'm 1.6 mil and getting wins
