why i was ready for sparks but they played a really mediocre game? and then made a draw. ding had the chance but alas. ding was playing by only defending
IMO, the longer the match goes without Ding being behind, the more it favors him. (frankly, I don't know if it's cultural or it's just Ding, but he definitely comes off as someone who isn't very confident as a person). Lots of people thought he was done for before this even started, so the confidence certainly will be going up every game.
@@descendency ding is just a really calm person he isn't a person to get the fight out he would rather defend and hold his position kinda guy plus his mental health over the few years have been unstable which affected his game drastically but still this is WC he seems like he isn't playing with the intention of winning. But What do I know maybe WC is a tournament which stresses out the players too much so they are not confident in their abilities gukesh is one of the strongest attacking player but this game he was stuck playing equal maybe because he didn't wanted to get the momentum in dings favor?
Always thought a draw here for Ding is a great result, if he manages to draw tomorrow and enter into the rest day ahead by 1 it's a massive success and the pressure will start to mount on Gukesh
Thank you, GM Hikaru! I saw Levy's take on the game, and I was very interested to see your take on the game. For everyone, Hikaru mentioned Josh Waitzkin, and I remembered that Josh Waitzkin was the person in the movie, "Searching for Bobby Fischer," was based on, (see the movie if you haven't!!!). This is the opening I use the most, and you explained to me why white would not trade the bishops, since the pawn structure, though there are two doubled pawns it is better for the other person. The A4 move was interesting. The R-D1 to R-C1, was interesting, and I do not remember Levy talking about the Knight trade, which I did not see. Levy said he was going to ask Magnus about the idea of the H4 move, and you agreed with Levy that was a good way to continue the game. My thinking was exactly your thoughts about this Draw was good for both players. You did a great job on this recap!
Waitzkin also authored of pretty awesome chess tutorials included in the Chessmaster program back in 2007. Very instructive. You can even find them on YT I think. I've also read his book "The Art of Learning...", although I'm probably not a great learner because frankly I don't remember a single thing : )
Not like this is that important, but your camera angle here is spot on. I thought you bought a new camera because the shelf in the back, along with the microphone in the foreground put more in the frame, creating more depth. Keep it this way. I don't know if it was an accident or intentional, but it looks great. If you really wanted to go the extra mile, you could even find a way to hide the neon power cable. Though, this is nitpicking.
Nepo said he is moving like a chess engine, he probably doesn't have stress neither too much emotions because he behaves like a robot. Will be easy win for Ding
i don't know if you've noticed but there is a bit of distortion when the audio peaks, it's very subtle but it's very uncomfortable to listen with headphones
They 100% are both fine with a draw in this game. Ding is ahead, Gukesh is on the board, lots of chess left. All is happy with this. See y’all tomorrow!
Maybe Ding's strategy for the rest of the tournament is to simply draw the rest of the games. If so it will be interesting to see if Gukesh can overcome that strategy.
Thank you so much for these recaps!! I am a long-time chess noob that gets interested during World Champs (and sometimes Candidate matches), and I am very glad I found your site for these.
Ding and Gukesh wait for Hikaru's recap to find out their result

Wow recalling moves from 1996 is just amazing

Hikaru with the quick turn around you the man!
Can't believe I uploaded a recap video 12 min before Hikaru... nvm 2200 online me just came up with a 4 min analysis for this 23 move game 😭😂

In the endgame I think you missed after Rc6 Kd5
Black has a fork on e2 which was previously guarded by Knight on c3

Hikaru sold me coke at a gas station.

me: rook c8 is the best move
hikaru: why?
me: symmetry of c-file.
hikaru: .........
Hikaru is ready with a video already. He knew what was gonna happen. Truly the best to ever do it.
Bro the Press Conference isnot even finish!!

Yo bro you high on shit 😂😂I mean why are you replying to your own comment
The Alemio team is setting the bar high for presales. Transparency + bonuses = community trust!
As a gamer myself, I can always appreciate a good Ding.
Now we can draw all match and gonna win world championship 🏆 what a clear plan 🔥😂😅
Faster than the light
Ding and Gukesh must be analysing their games from this video
You gotta respect this guy's work ethics.

ding never fails to mate gukesh’s queen
Lets expect Ding vs Hikaru next year
Projects like Alemio with strong use cases and a clear vision often lead the next bull run. Definitely worth considering!
Where is the recap of game 3? Wjy so slow?
Gukesh engine takes time. Give him few more games, then he will settle with nerves
Whattt right at the end of the match, Hikaru launched the video. Salute mister editor 🫡
Hikaru's audio is always peaking...
ICOs like Alemio ALM thrive during alt runs. Early investment now could mean massive gains in the near future!

Already waiting for game 3 review, please upload.
Alemio presale bonus tiers are a great incentive for early supporters-huge potential here!
Participated in the Alemio presale today-super smooth process and incredible potential rewards!
Hikaru,
You are the best explaining
Ah yes, the Gucci Piano opening. Pity they didn't play my favourite variation, the Massimo Dutti Attack.
This video looks like it would calm and motivate both players
Thanks for the reviews, they are very didactic.
We believe in Gukesh 😊
Hikaru probably recorded videos for the championship last week and is slowly uploading them one by one as the games end.
Ding played this game as he has all year, taking no chances.
Forget Ding/Gukesh getting a good night sleep, I hope Hikaru gets a good night sleep 🙌🏾
Ding cooking. Happy for him!
Amazing Hikaru is gonna be the next world championship challenger to Ding and then the next world champion ❤️🥳🥳
i don't know if you've noticed but there is a bit of distortion when the audio peaks, it's very subtle but it's very uncomfortable to listen with headphones
This really is the first rest day the players gave themselves a rest day with this draw.
1:49 more than 80% of the chat wasn't even born by that time.
I genuinely wanna see a series of 10 classical games between hikaru and magnus
Winning Candidates and Olympiad was Gukesh’s peak.
At his age? Come on : )
Waiting for Hikaru to achieving the World champion title in 2025 !!!

Hikaru gets content out faster than I can blink 😂
Well done Hikaru! Is Ding even aware of the popup Queen technology?
Did Hikaru said "risk" or "rizz". 🤣 6:27
So quick dude 👍
Ding has admitted that Hikaru is the hardest player for him to play and difficult to understand.
Why and how does the move rook c1 makes any sence???
Go Guca$$ !!!
Hikaru looks like he hasn't slept.
Hikaru is like the Flash of chess streaming 😂😂
Maybe Ding's strategy for the rest of the tournament is to simply draw the rest of the games. If so it will be interesting to see if Gukesh can overcome that strategy.
Bro, you are a machine of making content. Incredible ability. Congratulations!!! Record time to make the recap.
Secured my $ALM in the Alemio presale. LFG!!!!!!

The bag under his eyes tells it's all.
What about Bb4 after trading the light-squared bishops?
Fastest man alive....
I'm still cheering for Ding but I think Gukesh will win ultimately. I'm glad it's competitive.
