Faker is such an enigma for League. A game notorious among fans and non-fans for being exceedingly toxic has a GOAT who is consistently respectful and grateful that he gets to play the game. He also was abandoned by his mother which contradicts the fatherless behavior so many league players display
True... apart from the last part There's no contradiction. As the idea that no father = trash person is not contradicted but bolstered as Faker HAS father = great person
Translated comment from a Chinese caster: Younger players might get the wrong impression, that faker is some kind of unimaginably consistent immortal legend. If you watch him, you will see that is not true. Faker has truly gotten old. He misses CS, misses skills, and gets caught out. And yet. Truly great players, at moments of their choosing, will create their own destiny.
@@toraccess I don't think it's pride and vanity is the truth He didn't win a single title besides the worlds title for a reason They are good but not invincible if you have 2 eyes you can see them losing almost every draft cause T1 champ pool is ass They are clutch not the best at first glance
@@AuroraTheFirstLight yeah, Oner has vi and xin xhao, guma is sub par outside xayah and ashe, zeus performs worse on full tank top laners, Keria needs to have play making heroes to be effective, Faker well we cannot talk about his champ pool though hahaha Also their play style is very high risk high reward. look at the T1 back in 2017 when they lost to SSG.. They preferred choking out enemies, playing slow, leveraging small leads here and there until they are so far ahead it is impossible to combat. A very meticulous, death by a thousand cuts type of strat. They lost to SSG who were very skirmish oriented. Likes to play fast and hard the whole time. these days, T1 is the Skirmish risky guys! haha All that said, they make it work on the worlds stage. I just hope that they could be as effective outside worlds though.
@@AuroraTheFirstLight They won what matters, so they the best, whoever wins the most prestigious international title in sports is who is bets, nobayd cares who win each country league in football/soccer is who wins the champions league what matters for example , any team would give multiple regional champiosnhips to trade it for an interantional tourney
@@chelo136 You can say that T1 were better that day but I don't think you can say that GenG or BLG are worse team on paper Or that Faker is the absolute GOAT and doesn't miss play ever, he is human The clutch factor is in T1s blood since last year and I'm the first one cheering but that's not to say they don't have gaps in their play Also you mentioned international titles I'll have you know GenG won the other one and no one expects the team to stay together talk about unfair
Keria praised the GOAT in his stream after worlds and said : Faker was playing so good since the beginning of the swiss stage, but after that solo kill on ziggs his movements completely changed, i sensed something great is incoming and when i saw him stealing rakan's ult, i also immediately flash ulted, we didnt even talk about it.
that's a thing you only achive by playing countless hours with the same person. You start to get a feeling for the other person, you just know how they will react in any situation and vice versa. A level of mutual understanding you don't even have to talk to each other. I had this with one of my best friends, we played duo bot back in season2+3 and we didn't talk. No ts, no skype, nothing. I just knew what he's gonna do and it was glorious
It's kinda mental to me that one player remains on top of a pro e-sports scene for over a decade. In any e-sport scene most veterans are replaced by new young playere cause they have quicker reaction time and such but the fact that Faker is on top of the world in LoL e-sports for over a decade just shows what a player he is.
In moba reaction times is a bullshit. People retire or become worse because eventually they lose the passion, go check what players say about it. The weird thing is not his mechanical skills imo, its his mental power. Imagine playing the game as a pro and with the pressure of being the best for more than 10 years now. That shit is crazy if you think how mad even the calmest person can get after 50-100 soloq's. Dude is at the top and losing worlds and shit, that requires such a mental fortitude.
Faker has so much respect for his opponents. There is a clip, that the cameraman wanted him to give a thumbs down after he won a Tournament round, but he refused.
There's a measure of self respect in elevating your opponents too. If you accept that they're amazing, and you lose, you're still good/great for competing on level ground with them. If you write them off as terrible and you lose, well... that says it all. If they're terrible in your eyes and you win, well, at least you're king of the trash heap, but what is there to aspire to (that mentality is a quick way to kill any interest you have in continuing). But if they're amazing *and* you win? Well, then you've actually achieved something. And, with that, you have every reason to keep pushing, because they'll just keep getting better, so you have to as well.
Faker and teammates were not surprised that he was Mvp because Zeus as he was behind the stage asked who the Mvp was and once he entered, convinced that they had already announced it, he congratulated Faker
I love how each region has a champion that Faker manages to give PTSD to their playerbase. LCK - Zed 2013 LEC - Ryze 2015 LCS/LTA - Ahri -2013 Worlds LPL - Galio 2017
@@BroOk-LyN-co yeah i follow chinese media as well, theres a copy pasta that loosely translates to "Guma praying to god to manifest a win, Faker praying to god and accidentally manifested himself from 2017"

@@pqndagfx1143 Hazarding a guess here, it might be Chovy? I'd say that Chovy definitely is second best mid laner, but it's hard to judge across different lanes. I'm trying to think of who else this year would even have close to as many Worlds appearances as Faker and I can only think of Deft, but that's because I only started casually watching League again in 2022 so I still don't remember all the names.
@@Gender_Ascender it has to be showmaker, showmaker won lck in 2020 and 2021 and revived lck in 2020. chovy did nothing to contribute to the lck except free wins for the lpl
i was supporting T1 up until the finals (just felt like i liked the BLG storyline more so i rooted for them instead) by game 3 i thought that it was finally time for the demon king to be struck down, but apparently there was a second phase to the boss fight, those game 4 and 5 took me back 2015-2016 faker era, it was completely unbelievable but couldn't even be mad, i was witnessing absolute cinema the broadcast ended around 3am my time and i couldn't even sleep afterwards, what an experience
Yeah, G4 and G5.. the True unkillable demon king came out! How many times did faker get out alive with a sliver of HP from a successful fight? Statistically, we could only say he knows the true limits!
I also rooted for BLG after DoinB said LPL might crash if they lose this. Last thing I want is one region dominating a game, it will kill competition...but after seeing BLG BM'ing I didn't think they deserve the win anymore
I was out of town, doing a bit of visiting. I heard my friend KkOma had finally taken the time to settle down in the countryside. Rightfully so, after what he’d been through, with all the pent-up stress and frustration built up over the years of coaching the most successful KR team in League. “How have things been buddy?” I asked, as I saw my man step out of the house upon hearing my car come in the drive-through. “All good, life’s been a lot more chill, now that I’ve retired,” he answered. “Hey, wanna check out my animals out back? I’ve taken up farming as a hobby with my free time,” as he motioned over to the back gate. We headed out and he started introducing me to some of the livestock, mentioning how he had named them after his players, as the unhinged animals they were. Just then, I was hit by an unbearable stench. With my eyes watering uncontrollably, I questioned through gritted teeth, “What in the hell is that smell?” He looked over knowingly and said: "Ah. Faker? The goat is never washed.”
Why Faker is able to step up is absolutely astonishing, Faker has this playstyle of high risk high reward playmaking when they are behind, or need someone to open up the game. Sure, there are many times, especially during regular seasons where he is struggling and seem like hes inting, but despite of all of that, he never shy away from trying to make a play for the team. And this mental fortitude is the difference between a great player at worlds, and a living legend.
From 2017-23 he inted a lot of times in crucial situations as well. Shaker, the Ryze ult vs Damwon, the Viktor flash v DRX, the Nautilus play v JDG. That Ruler play changed everything
It's baffling to me that T1 just makes every Worlds they go to better than the last. I swear nothing could beat 2022 finals than 2023 happened. THEN 2024 happened. Cinema at it's finest.
This was my first in-person Worlds experience and oh my god it was made so magical by both teams, but especially those ground-breaking plays by T1. It made for an event I'll never forget :')
Hearing the T1 chants from the crowd was emotional even on cast! That had to be incredible to experience in person. Did you interact with any of the players? Did anyone stand out to you in particular?
@chetranqui I remember me and the friends I went with screaming our heads off when Faker got MVP lol. Honestly he had us on the edge of our seats game after game, and I'll never forget how loud the O2 was during game 5. I was incredibly lucky to experience this era of T1 and hope for times like it again :')
One day, someone will adapt Lol history into an anime revolving around Faker, and the anime will only get better as time progresses. Imagine all the storylines: Faker vs LPL, Faker vs SSG/GenG, Faker vs Ruler, 2022 heartbreak, final Bo5 curse, the 2017-2020 drought
I feel like if they do, the best place to start off would be the 2017-2020 drought, cause Imma tell you hate for T1 was at an all time peak it *almost* made the DDoS attacks not be the worst thing happening to them especially with the amount of funeral flowers being sent.
His life and his story is not a normal one, even a sports anime cannot have a badass storyline like this, too good to be true. And he's a real person that make his life even more cinematic
@@mattheww1930 2013-2016 could be exposition, flashbacks, or just the literal start of the story and your suggestion, 2017 could also be the start for sure, the fall of an era start
This was my first Worlds ever. I started watching during semi-finales and watched all of them. I was shouting, jumping and slapping my own hand and shouting korean names i cant even pronounce like GUMAYUSHI GOOO in my native language. It was absolutely amazing and now i know why this sport is so watched in the world. Faker = goat
Yeah I had a friend watch along (it was their first Worlds and he hated T1 because everyone loved them) and rooted for every team that fought against T1. By the end of Worlds he switched teams and finally realised why everyone loves T1 😂 I think he bet a lot on GenG & BLG winning too
Last year I thought the Azir play was the pinnacle of it all and then Faker just dismantled it like thrice in 2 games. That arrow was personal.... Elk shouldn't have done it 🤣🤣🤣
It was not the arrow, it was the emote. The Unkillable Demon King summonning ritual start when enemy flash emote after killing Faker. He took it personal, let his body to be taken over by the Demon King, then smashed the enemy to pieces. Remember SKT - EGD Worlds 2017? EDG ADC flashed an emote before Faker, the rest was history.
What blows my mind about this series is that if you watch it straight through, you can almost feel faker's influence over the rift. Faker's galio has such a commanding presence, that it must be so comforting to play with him calling shots. Keria had an interview where he was talking about Faker's 1v4 Rakan ult engage where he says that he saw my goat going in and just blindly flash ulted because he knew if Faker's in, its the best chance of winning. This roster just plays so well together, usually when you get such young talent, they win 1v1 or 2v2, not just in league but in all competitive sports as well, but they all move and fight and win so well together its incredible
I think the finals was my favourite worlds experience of all time. That Galio ult, sniping kaisa, the hourglass and justice punch in the final fight were so good I get chills looking at them. I think he might genuinely be better now than he ever has been before. In that final game at the very least.
This is indeed the strongest roster of all time. This Worlds run is the best one yet. The level of play in this Worlds was too damn high, that's why we got so many bangers. T1 played against a lot of good teams also, G2, TES, GenG,BLG, so this trophy is a true testament to ZOFGK"s skill level
@@lorenzocarreon7261 This didn't age well for the roster. Zeus got out, seems like his agent scammed them out. T1 had to replace top for Dorian. He is Mr wonderfull in LCK, but at worlds he never showed prime performance.
It's kind of mind blowing when you notice that...T1 and Faker is just one game short of being 3 consecutives Worlds champion if T1 won game 5 against DRX
bro next year will be history in all Esports in all sports in all history because T1 will win back to back to back to back to back to back to back 1st regular season, MSI, EWC, 2nd regular season, and the Summoners Cup World Champions in the whole wide world of galactical universal multi universal infinite dimensions of the entire living and non living things!!!!!!!!!
True but I think that 2022 loss was important for them to make this back to back win. Without learning anything Zeus wouldn't have been the same guy we have now which is the leave him counter pick and you're gonna suffer(his Gragas to Jax games this worlds was some of the best performance he had on Gragas). The same with Keria or rather the entire teams identity, they didn't kneel to the meta but find some couple of loopholes to abuse like the pyke/bard pick vs "immobile" supports and the renata blind.
@@slippy47 Zeus was so into the Gragas mindset he bonked himself on the head with the trophy. Watching anybody else play Gragas was borderline inting whereas Zeus makes it look like a cake walk. I don't think he gets enough credit. He was literally GIGA camped multiple games and was useless for 20 minutes, like on Rumble. Multiman dive then repeat dove on respawn. Then as soon as he gets a couple items he'll make every insane engage that gave T1 the edge or lay down a sick equalizer. It's shocking the casters didn't focus on it at all, but all of the Chinese Jax players were legit unbeatable, literally all of them. For T1 to get to leave Jax open and even force Chinese teams to ban it on blue side just because Zeus is the only one in the world that can make that matchup work to any effect. I kinda feel bad for BLG like what are you supposed to do when T1 is firing on all cylinders? They used to be the slowest team ever that played PvE macro games by stacking tiny advantages. Then the direction the game was being developed was to favor big team fights, so now T1 is the team that out teamfights the Chinese teams, which has always been the LPL's trump card.
I was some of the fortunate enough to be in the UK, in person. It was THE most hype I've felt in my life. A 5 game banger with both teams being so skilled. It was absolute fucking cinema. Everyone was screaming the last two games. There was a very palpable pressure in the air as game 5 rolled around. Equal score of 3 on 3, then minute 28 came where both sides were treated to some of the best League of Legends ever. No one got left wanting, both teams delivered. But in the end, it was a GOAT diff that secured the victory. ZOFGK being the most goated line up.
This was a special worlds for me. Due to life circumstances for me I had to basically cut league out of my life for 3 or so years, and I just happened to come back in time to see that the finals was on. To see faker still being the best is one of the few things that felt familiar to my return to league as so much has changed it feels.
This video must gain more views. It explains the biggest details that some people might miss and this kind of video allows us to remember Faker as the GOAT longer.
I played League back in college as a way to hangout with my friends but never been that into it really. That was 10 years ago. Never watched worlds, but somehow by complete luck I got recommended to watch the worlds 2024 finals live stream on UA-cam. Probably one of the best matches in e-sports history to be honest. So fortunate to have witnessed this live. The last play my reaction was pretty much the same as everybody's. I was like "what the fuck, what the fuck, what the fuck".
Who is Faker? For the blind, He is the vision. For the hungry, He is the chef. For the thirsty, He is the water. If Faker thinks, I agree. If Faker speaks, I’m listening. If Faker has one fan, it is me. If Faker has no fans, I don’t exist.
Something that's also very notable about Faker is that throughout his games against Gen G and BLG, he went for both more offensive runes and items. Example is instead of grasp on Ahri, he went electrocute. And on Galio, he built death cap.
Faker's performance at Worlds 2024 was a thing of beauty. Game 5 in particular was exceptional, Faker went above and beyond, but so did every T1 member. Keria was the unsung hero of that game, his awareness gave T1 the best winning opportunities.
This vid is great, and really helped me understand how clutch fakers game 5 play was. I saw it live, but didn’t realize it at the time. Awesome job on the vid!
I sincerely hope whichever designer came up with the name Hero's Entrance was paid well for their work. What a perfect name for one of the most straightforward, but exciting abilities in the entire game
Great recap! As a T1 fan, the GenG and BLG matches made me really anxious. I know T1 was capable of beating them but they were the best teams in the world and T1 had a really bad Summer split performance for their standards. Glad to see my prayers answered and T1 played some of the best League of their lives! And the final game vs BLG coming down to a clutch performance by T1 was just so cathartic to me! I wish T1 and ZOFGK the best this coming year!
I too agree with you that the T1 vs GEN G / BLG series were absolutely on another level in terms of both hype and gameplay, however for me there was this spark lit by FLY from their series vs GEN G, which reminded me of Misfits from 2017. I hope it did the same for all the western teams as well. Who knows, maybe next year we will finally see a reborn of EU / NA on the international stage. :D ^-^
Ok fun fact i just discovered your channel this morning on my train to work and i binged through your videos I just got off work and this appears on my feed Banger
I haven't played League in years, and generally don't watch worlds that much either. This year I decided to tune in to finals for whatever reason, and BOY am I glad I did! Faker's performance may be the most clutch in worlds history.
And to imagine the Worlds MVP was banging his head against the stage a few months prior because of a bad phase. I mean, T1 almost didn't make to the championship and Faker was on a pretty bad low, but if it has "world" in the name, Faker has to win, it's just natural. He probably has the best mental any e-sports player will ever have.
Such a goated vid, ty so much for the summary of the worlds finals bec I havent seen them and this video was just perfect for me. Ur content in general is insane btw, pls keep it up man
I'm not sure why, but that moment, watching the series live and now checking this summary/essay about it it's making me do the same... Tear up. I just don't know but both moments are making me cry. What any passionate League player or enjoyer watched that day probably won't be topped in a very long time, and if so, it won't have the legacy of being from such a Player... Or maybe 2025 worlds we can see Faker doing it again..
After slowly watching League less and less since 2020, I started watching again earlier this year because of Caedrel. I gotta say, what a great year to comeback. I'm first and for most, an LCS fans, and then a western fan, but I also root for most underdog in almost any matches. Seeing R7 beating 100T was awesome, seeing Gam made a deep run was awesome, even though they didn't make knockout, G2 did really well and didn't sit down and die like the old TL and TSM at world, they played amazingly against all those strong team they were unfortunate enough to draw. And of cause, seeing Fly punching well above their weight, with their unique pick and aggressiveness against HLE and GenG was one of the best experiences watching world, giving me hope that maybe the often dismissed LCS still has a lot to give. And then there's Faker, when I saw the clip of him banging his head against the wall in LCK summer, I was heartbroken, he was already the goat without question at that point, yet he was passionate about the game enough to do that, his competitive spirit is just incredible. It was awesome to see him at the top of his game again right when Worlds comes around, not saying others don't deserve to win, but it just feels right to see him win. All in all, this was a fantastic Worlds, couldn't ask for a better one to comeback to.
I stopped watching League 10 years ago. When I saw Faker was up for esports athlete of the year, I thought no way he’s STILL playing. Check on UA-cam and see this. Absolutely insane. The one true GOAT of any sport
A little fun fact is when Zeus went to the backstage to get help after hitting his head with the trophy, he asked the staffs "who's the MVP" and they said it was Faker. So my boy wore the V5 shirt, went back to stage and said congratulation to Faker without even knowing if it was announced or not 😂.
The thing I said it’s hard but also built by this team is the level of trust you can see once one person is out although they are individually skilled they make some decision that always need a backup and go in. In a lot situation teams choose to forgo and get other thing on the map but I think what T1 do that other can’t is the level of trust they have on each other while playing. You see LCK they are not working tgt it’s Bad but when they do it’s such a treat to watch.
the final fight top lane, Zeus also contributed. right before he hit Zhonyas, he placed a ward. Bin ended up auto attacking the ward twice instead of Zeus or Faker. based on Faker's HP at the end of the fight, Zeus placing that ward in all that chaos is just chef's kiss.
I disagree with this take. Bin wouldnt have known Faker would live at the end of the fight with 1 hp. If he moved away from Gragas to auto a full Hp Faker, he would have opened up an escape. Having the ward there helped him build his passive, otherwise, if the ward wasnt there, Bin probably would have just stood around blocking the angle regardless.
5x world champion (2x finals, 2x semi finals) 2X MSI champion (3x finals, 2x semis) 10X LCK champions EUW Champion+ other mini titles… No wonder everyone hates them coz no one gets even close and will never get close…help me with anything else 😂
T1 won back to back finals twice....with 2 different rosters 3 consecutive finals appearance, with T1 winning 2 out of the 3....TWICE......with two different rosters.
2013: The unkillable demon King 2015: The unkillable demon king, again 2016: The unkillable demon king 3 2023: The return of unkillable demon king 2024: The unkillable demon King, once more
All this story ark, starting from 2013 are just unbelievable. And final chapters with ZOFGK in 2022, 2023 and 2024 are truly breathtaking. For me this is one of the best stories ever.
I was so annoyed with the schedule of the tournament since it was so late into the night in my region. But it was "THE" finals and as a fan nothing can stop me EVEN sleep and it was worth it. I'm not really into the game and only watch the big tournaments, and the only lol streamer i watch is kesha. Stumbled upon faker in 2014 and been a fan of him since..thanks for the trophy faker its an honor to win alongside you. We always believe.
Yes, considered how complicated it is to pull it off. Faker has to steal Rakan R, cancel his W and charm him in the single moment before he can move to belt and flash onto both blg carry. This has to be done with correct sequence and timing. Wrong sequence will give On opportunity to Ult and stop Faker from continuing the play. Mistiming will give Zigg and Ahri enough time to move to far out of reach.
For context, Faker did the right play, but bare in mind keria and the rest of the team were pure linking without clear communication to pull off that team fight. The one who ints and the follow ups are just pure cinema.
Most missed that Faker is the only one to build a death cap on Galio. Faker, quad and Maple are the only players who built Stormsurge on Ahri in this worlds
The last play only worked because Keria stayed midlane and Ult-canceled the AhriTP, he couldnt know where Ahri would TP from but somehow we smelled it and ran down mid to prevent the TP, thats CRAZY!!!
I started playing this game in season 2, while Riot has done a great job in continuing to improve the game every year, the evolution of Faker has been the most amazing thing for me to experience. In 14 years of LoL, Faker has made this game interesting for me to want to watch year in and year out. Honestly, I think when he decides to retire, this whole game will come crashing down. He is the face of T1, but he is ultimately the face of LoL.
A shoutout for Rekkles. The dude ofc did not supp in but he did massive behind the scenes work, including just repeatetly beating Faker in chess and Keria in Ping Pong.
People here had been gushing over Faker for a couple of weeks after the Finals, and it generated some genuinely funny comments with lethal doses of second-hand embarrassment. Those were like: "You can do a 5v5 game with Faker's champion skins only. Only 9 of them were made after him, but you can still play a game of 5v5 with Faker's champion skins because a) Faker always uses vanilla skins, and b) he is LOL itself." "BLG in the 2024 Worlds was one of the best teams to ever compete in the Finals. The match was a toss-up because BLG had the best players. They could have won, and their defeat was an unfortunate _act of god."_ "Even if T1 had won his fifth Worlds, there's still an important unanswered question: we haven't yet decided who's the best mid-laner in LOL esports history and who's the second-best. Between SKT Faker(2013-2019) and T1 Faker(2020-present), who is No.1 and who is No.2?"
T1 is like Team Seirin in Kuroko no Basket. Faker just elevates the people around him. Like in the anime they enter a "team zone". So much is said with so little in their comms because they have practiced so much and are all on the same page and see the game the same way. Rarely do they have 2 or more players making different calls. And if they do, Faker's call above all is answered. There is no hesitation in the other team members. Faker is like the Kobe Bryant of League of Legends. That man went through a lot of injuries and had to learn to play the game in another way. When you lose your reaction time, speed, ability to jump, etc. You have to learn other areas of the game to still perform at a high level. Faker might not be the best mechanical player anymore, but he's made major improvements in other areas to still be at the top. His leadership skill I'd say is the most improved. The play of him as Galio, not a carry, to go in and create the play for his teammates to shine is a perfect example. He's the Theoden leading the charge. Leading his team to victory.
I love this video , watched it 5 times. Before this I didnt even know much about faker or League, I just watched it to eat my food. Then went on a binge watching who faker is and T1's history. Loved the vid 10/10. I would like it if you made a video about the 2022 heartbreak to 2023 win.
It's really emotional when Faker open the incredible fights in G4 & G5. He may lose, he may mess up, but he never be coward. Greatest of all time, Faker.
as someone who doesn’t play the game (I watch Worlds with my partner who does), this was honestly really helpful in helping me understand play by play just how epic Faker and T1’s skills are 👏💯 thanks a lot for making this video!
Faker is such a perfect name. How often does someone think they've got him, caught him out, or found a flank just to get 100 to 0 out of nowhere. Thank you for explaining that last play where he jumped to help Zeus. It was so chaotic, your blow by blow really shows just how amazing he is.
Faker is truly the equivalent of Messi in E-sports. I'm thankful to have been able to have witnessed both of them in the same lifetime. Generational talent mixed with generational hard-worker. Lethal combo.
He does have competition as the goat of Esports. Flash was a dominant starcraft player who won 10 1st place trophies for just over a decade. In terms of dominance in the field of esports, he probably reigns king. The one thing that might put Faker above is league is way more competitive with a way bigger player base. League also relies on 4 other players whereas starcraft is 1v1
football is a bad example because they dont have a undisputed goat. Faker is more like: Magnus Carlsen in chess Tiger Woods in golf Michael Phelps in swimming Roger Federer in tennis (Men) Serena Williams in tennis (Woman) undesputed the best ever in LoL and maybe in e-sport general
@@psy_99 1v1 is easier to win, because you only have to be the best at the game. in League of example you have to be the best in the game, have heavy micro and macro coordination, 4 teammates who can run down the game, you have to find the plays to turn around a losing game, you have to lead your team in harsh positions, you have to make team decisions as the leader. And 5 enemys who does the same, they can group to focus you down, its hard to impossible to carry a game alone (skt t1 2017 is a good example) Flash is the goat of starcraft, a game with small playerbase, not worldwide played or popular. And then starcraft had many goats, legendary player with a hugh amount of wins and achievements. Flash is not that far ahead. thats why i dont like to say Flash is a competition, 99% of e-sport fans have to google what flash did to be the goat of starcraft. Faker is known even outside of LoL, outside of e-sports, he is a idol in korea, the most valuable e-sport player in the world and even people who never watched or played ever a e-sport title heared once Fakers name. thats the big difference between them
Faker is one of the biggest fucking people in this age. His abilities, ressilience, skill, passion, honor, humbleness. This guy is a Korean national treasure.
I watched this live from start to end because it started right after the clash royale league world finals and it popped on my recommended. Although I knew nothing about LoL I still watched it all, thanks for the amazing recap
Faker already had 4 trophies, so the 5th is just a cherry on top. But he also had so many fans because of his history. Faker was able to lock in because of this perfect mixture of pressure. Not too much and not too little.
Its been like 2 weeks but I can still remember the moment I watched the stream. It was Faker and only Faker who can win this game, no one else can ever save the world against all odds like Faker.
So I get to 22:03 of the video just thoroughly enjoying it and loving the summary and editing and then you have to go and make me cry OUT OF NOWHERE. well played, sir.

Faker is such an enigma for League. A game notorious among fans and non-fans for being exceedingly toxic has a GOAT who is consistently respectful and grateful that he gets to play the game. He also was abandoned by his mother which contradicts the fatherless behavior so many league players display

True... apart from the last part

Translated comment from a Chinese caster:
Younger players might get the wrong impression, that faker is some kind of unimaginably consistent immortal legend. If you watch him, you will see that is not true. Faker has truly gotten old. He misses CS, misses skills, and gets caught out.
And yet.
Truly great players, at moments of their choosing, will create their own destiny.

@@AuroraTheFirstLight yeah, Oner has vi and xin xhao, guma is sub par outside xayah and ashe, zeus performs worse on full tank top laners, Keria needs to have play making heroes to be effective, Faker well we cannot talk about his champ pool though hahaha
Also their play style is very high risk high reward. look at the T1 back in 2017 when they lost to SSG.. They preferred choking out enemies, playing slow, leveraging small leads here and there until they are so far ahead it is impossible to combat. A very meticulous, death by a thousand cuts type of strat. They lost to SSG who were very skirmish oriented. Likes to play fast and hard the whole time. these days, T1 is the Skirmish risky guys! haha
All that said, they make it work on the worlds stage. I just hope that they could be as effective outside worlds though.

Keria is such a GOATed Support because of that. Sensing the energy shift in his teammate and adjusting accordingly is 10/10 support awareness.
that's a thing you only achive by playing countless hours with the same person. You start to get a feeling for the other person, you just know how they will react in any situation and vice versa. A level of mutual understanding you don't even have to talk to each other.

Well he really said it that "IF U REALLY ENJOY AND LOVE PLAYING LOL, NO MATTER THE SITUATION IF U PLAY UR BEST, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE"
Faker is literally held back by his hands. The hours dedicated to league/practice is crazy for 11+ years.
Mang0
League is easy and you have teammates

With my eyes watering uncontrollably, I questioned through gritted teeth, “What in the hell is that smell?”
He looked over knowingly and said: "Ah.

Nah, that arrow is necessary part of the ritual to summon the demon king

Faker's performance at Worlds 2024 was a thing of beauty. Game 5 in particular was exceptional, Faker went above and beyond, but so did every T1 member. Keria was the unsung hero of that game, his awareness gave T1 the best winning opportunities.

27:08 Really happy that you actually covered Keria's ult here! That's really another important key to the win which was barely mentioned.
I haven't played League in years, and generally don't watch worlds that much either. This year I decided to tune in to finals for whatever reason, and BOY am I glad I did! Faker's performance may be the most clutch in worlds history.
23:49 the german casters actually said "well, noone would galio ult into thi- HOLY SHIT GALIO ULT"
"Faker scales with pressure" what a good line
And to imagine the Worlds MVP was banging his head against the stage a few months prior because of a bad phase. I mean, T1 almost didn't make to the championship and Faker was on a pretty bad low, but if it has "world" in the name, Faker has to win, it's just natural. He probably has the best mental any e-sports player will ever have.

Or maybe 2025 worlds we can see Faker doing it again..
crazy that even now faker finds new records to get the only player with 2 MVPs in worlds the man with the most world tittels and highest world winrate
I'm not a LoL guy, but THAT was a complete masterpiece! Well-edited vid, too, parsing all the background, context, and timeline!
I literally watch this video 3x a day.
A Faker-esque video.
It's the best worlds recap on yt.
Overlaying Faker's "Prove it" with the hourglass fountain dive finisher is diabolical
Bin was just stacking for his passive.... It is Bin we are talking about, he knows how to 'attack champions only'.
Bin was trying to keep passive up for the empowered auto since there was no one in range when zeus went golden.
No Bin was just stacking passive, but did you see that Faker E after zhonya straight movement
if you watch the ward, it gets hit twice.
so ya'll telling me that Bin knew Zeus would place a ward for him to hit to keep his passive up?

2024: The unkillable demon King, once more
All this story ark, starting from 2013 are just unbelievable.
We always believe.
love your vids fr, gonna have to rewatch
I had such an amazing time watching it and was so immersed in it that I got so nervous that I got a headache.
That Sylas Rakan play might be the best pro play I have ever seen.
wait you forgot the sylas gnar ult 5man caught is the peak sylas combo
@@mukamuka0 and both flashes were coming back up soon. It was his only shot.
@@mukamuka0 why was xun's skarner just standing there the whole time.
Most missed that Faker is the only one to build a death cap on Galio. Faker, quad and Maple are the only players who built Stormsurge on Ahri in this worlds
That would be such a high
"Your 2024 mvp is..."
And the crowd screamsback your name
The last play only worked because Keria stayed midlane and Ult-canceled the AhriTP, he couldnt know where Ahri would TP from but somehow we smelled it and ran down mid to prevent the TP, thats CRAZY!!!
"Chovy, you will win Worlds one day.. once I retired and T1 gets you as my replacement.." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Excellent video highlighting some of the best league games of all time
A shoutout for Rekkles. The dude ofc did not supp in but he did massive behind the scenes work, including just repeatetly beating Faker in chess and Keria in Ping Pong.
Having a 100% win rate against a whole entire region is criminal
And that is versus the 2nd best region
People here had been gushing over Faker for a couple of weeks after the Finals, and it generated some genuinely funny comments with lethal doses of second-hand embarrassment. Those were like:
"You can do a 5v5 game with Faker's champion skins only. Only 9 of them were made after him, but you can still play a game of 5v5 with Faker's champion skins because a) Faker always uses vanilla skins, and b) he is LOL itself."
"BLG in the 2024 Worlds was one of the best teams to ever compete in the Finals. The match was a toss-up because BLG had the best players. They could have won, and their defeat was an unfortunate _act of god."_
"Even if T1 had won his fifth Worlds, there's still an important unanswered question: we haven't yet decided who's the best mid-laner in LOL esports history and who's the second-best. Between SKT Faker(2013-2019) and T1 Faker(2020-present), who is No.1 and who is No.2?"
"Act of god"? I'd say act of GOAT.
@@johndoh9395 The original expressions in Korean was "재난" or natural disaster. I used some creative liberty instead.
Your video is so well edited that gives me chills!!
that means a lot - thank you!
You have criminally low views and subs for how excellent this video was dude. Amazing work. Hope to see more
360k for 30k subs isn't anything to scoff at kid. What's more impressive is that he makes like 500k view quality videos and only has 11 videos.
As a BLG fan, Faker will forever be in my nightmares 😅
Your videos are so good man
ZOFGK please run it back boys
Don't worry, they will announce Zeus later
this did not age well
still cant believe how good faker truly is. there will never be again someone like him
" guma is making xun look like a pincushion " 😂😂 love it
as someone who doesn’t play the game (I watch Worlds with my partner who does), this was honestly really helpful in helping me understand play by play just how epic Faker and T1’s skills are 👏💯 thanks a lot for making this video!
For someone like me who hasn't played LoL for several years, this was such a treat to watch!
Faker is such a perfect name. How often does someone think they've got him, caught him out, or found a flank just to get 100 to 0 out of nowhere.
Thank you for explaining that last play where he jumped to help Zeus. It was so chaotic, your blow by blow really shows just how amazing he is.
The final 2 games, all I could say was Faker just refused to lose
Faker is truly the equivalent of Messi in E-sports. I'm thankful to have been able to have witnessed both of them in the same lifetime. Generational talent mixed with generational hard-worker. Lethal combo.
That’s an awkward take since half the football fans think another is the goat 😅
He does have competition as the goat of Esports. Flash was a dominant starcraft player who won 10 1st place trophies for just over a decade. In terms of dominance in the field of esports, he probably reigns king. The one thing that might put Faker above is league is way more competitive with a way bigger player base. League also relies on 4 other players whereas starcraft is 1v1
football is a bad example because they dont have a undisputed goat.
Faker is more like:
Magnus Carlsen in chess
Tiger Woods in golf
Michael Phelps in swimming
Roger Federer in tennis (Men)
Serena Williams in tennis (Woman)
undesputed the best ever in LoL and maybe in e-sport general
@@psy_99 1v1 is easier to win, because you only have to be the best at the game. in League of example you have to be the best in the game, have heavy micro and macro coordination, 4 teammates who can run down the game, you have to find the plays to turn around a losing game, you have to lead your team in harsh positions, you have to make team decisions as the leader. And 5 enemys who does the same, they can group to focus you down, its hard to impossible to carry a game alone (skt t1 2017 is a good example)
Flash is the goat of starcraft, a game with small playerbase, not worldwide played or popular.
And then starcraft had many goats, legendary player with a hugh amount of wins and achievements. Flash is not that far ahead.
thats why i dont like to say Flash is a competition, 99% of e-sport fans have to google what flash did to be the goat of starcraft. Faker is known even outside of LoL, outside of e-sports, he is a idol in korea, the most valuable e-sport player in the world and even people who never watched or played ever a e-sport title heared once Fakers name.
thats the big difference between them
@@psy_99 faker also has 10x lck over the decade man
Faker is one of the biggest fucking people in this age.
T1 Fan from 2015 here... Just happy to see the two goats (Slayer_Boxer in SC1 and Faker)
Ahh yes, my daily dose of Faker videos never runs out 😅
I normally focus on the more historic League content, but Worlds 2024 was so fun to watch I had to do something
@@myth-leagueoflegends It's okay lol I love your videos. It's TheScoreEsports' fault giving me Faker vids daily 😂
@@Hachi-Mi the score is probably the number 1 reason why there is so much faker hate
@@queensforever7498 IWD must've gotten tired of watching them vids 😂
Faker 2025 worlds with Doran will be the final cinematic masterpiece
one of the best roster of all time. for me this the one
Absolutely the best... Fave part when Galio crashing in like superman =D
