+BFMachine I remember I had watched Goldeneye heaps of times, but I only discovered this song a few years ago. It was in the early hours of the morning, and for some reason, it really touched me.
Man, the nostalgia when I watch this :( Loved the music, acting, plot, everything. They just don't make 'em like this anymore and it makes me sad. Nowadays, movies are so forgettable.
Exactly. I loved this era of 1995. Movies had so much heart and substance. They also were the right length and franchise wasn't a common thing back then like it is now. Something is missing from movies today. I find them too saturated, lacking soul and just having a script that doesn't grab you. I think because everything has been done, it is hard to come up with something new. Even down to music, you'd never hear a track as soothing as this to end a film on. And a teaser after the credits was rare too. Boy, I miss this era of filmmaking.
My first true Bond experience in a movie theater. I watched them all after really liking this one. I had seen Octopussy and A View to a Kill in theaters with my dad. But I was so young, I didn't really care.
I was four when this movie came out. It was probably the very first James Bond movie I ever watched when I saw it on TV. And of course, the video game. This is my childhood here. Proud Nineties Kid, I am. And holy crap, do I miss the Nineties.
I still remember sitting on my parents' bed watching the VHS of this. Absolute classic of a movie and having just finished watching it for the thousandth time I must confess it's probably my favourite bond. Hard to believe it's nearly 18 years old.
Definitely Brosnans best and one of the best in the franchise. The Living Daylights and License to Kill are both up there as well. Dalton was great but he should've replaced Roger Moore much sooner.
Absolutely moving, this song and ending. Reminds me that we no longer have the incredible Arecibo Observatory. It's now been lost to time forever, now that it's collapsed. Goldeneye is easily my favourite James Bond film.
The ending automatically made this film near and dear to my heart, and it also helps that the game is one of the greatest video games ever created. Love GoldenEye, beautiful title too
As a matter of fact, every first new movie's suite appear to be the best one, it apply for Brosnan as the others. Anyway Goldeneye is probably the best JB ever made and its music is timeless.
@@crimsondeath7468 Agreed completely. Goldeneye's score is a real oddball, but very enjoyable in places. Serra's work on the fifth element is really fun too.
I agree , I just watched the film as I’m big fan …I get sad when the end credits roll with it as it brings back so many great memories of a different time 1995 is and so much better than the world in 2023 . Amen 🙏🏽
Now that's a Bond film Badass ending wish Timothy Dalton did another thow before Brosnan step in but hey at least they portrayed Ian Flemings legendary Character!!!
Eric Serra did the entire soundtrack for the film as well as this song. He also did the soundtrack for the Fifth Element, including Little Light of Love, and the soundtrack (music at least) for Leon.
That's what brought me here. Just watched Leon for the first time and I could hear this song throughout the movie. You could definitely tell it was an Eric Serra soundtrack. It may as well have been Goldeneye, heh.
Hey I completely agree, I can't decide if it's my favourite Bond film, but it's up there. And GoldenEye 007 is definitely the best game ever made, I still pull out the ol' 64 occasionally and play some missions.
Useless Trivia: This song was written by Serra for the film 'Léon' but discarded for 'Shape of My Heart' instead. They saved a little money by not bothering to write one for Goldeneye and just used this. This is why the lyrics don't really make sense for Bond, but for Léon - for example, "Just understanding for the first time what you feel inside when love is in your life." This is referring to Léon's character who has never experienced really loving anybody before his world gets shaken up by having to look after an orphan. Bond in the other hand has a brief sulk on a beach and gets his end away with another girl he'll never see again. The closest thing to love in Goldeneye is M's cheeky little, "Come back alive!".
A movie that sign my childhood. I will ever be in love with Goldeneye and this soundtrack. N64 was awesome and my little cousins now play with my Nintendo's game I bought in 1997. What a nice memory. :) Goldeneye the best bond movie. CHEERS FROM ITALY :)
I agree with you. Craig's films did have plenty of action, like pretty much any Bond movie does, but they lacked the witty one liners, charm, suavete, and "feels" that Brosnan's Bond films were able to convey so well. This ending is a prime example.
GoldenEye is my favorite Brosnan era Bond film. Izabella Scorupco is one of my favorite Bond women and certainly the best leading lady for Brosnan; so soft and beautiful. I think Peirce and Izabella had the best on screen chemistry. Does anyone know other films Izabella has been in?
*Vertical Limit* (2000) **[also directed by Martin Campbell (Goldeneye, 2006!Casino Royale)]** with Chris O'Donnell, Bill Paxton, Robin Tunney, and Scott Glenn; and *Reign Of Fire* (2002), with Matthew McConaghey, Christian Bale, Gerard Butler, and Jack Gleeson's (KING JOFFREY LANNISTER!) First Role
I honestly think Pierce Brosnan was born to be Bond. Timothy Dalton was a good experience but i felt he has too much of a Grinch who stole christmas, vibe to the actor. But Brosnan was just perfect Bond and i consider him so far the best Bond to ever been on screen!
even though im 15 years old i always liked the feeling of classic movies with their trailers and endings with the type of music mostly how it has its original sound than today movies which are just edited it always feels like you want to live this era but you were born in the wrong time.
This song is a tribute to Eric Carmen's All By myself marking the end of 80's and also to Native American films in vogue from 1990 to 1995 such as Dances with wolves and Legends of the fall.
I always thought this was a weird outro for a James Bond movie. Then again, I thought the piano in the Bond/Janus meeting in the statues graveyard was also odd.
@simplygareth This song was playing on my first kiss. Me and my GF kissed on a grass hill like James and Natalya did too. My mp3 player was playing this song. It felt like the movie!
@ulllshowmaster. Sorry but I disagree. As good as TD was I think Pierce is what makes Goldeneye so great. The whole point of Goldeneye is that it is meant to bring Bond into the new, post cold war, world and give the character a freash feel. I frankly can't imagine anyone else in the film.
very unfair to brosnan, his next 3 were overly criticized and were good spy thrillers for what they are, quit being a sheep and try to form an opinion of your own
Brilliant ending to a brilliant film.
God, this music always makes me nostalgic. Simpler days back then, when Brosnan was our James Bond.
And when James Bond was James Bond...
@@philla0076 When actors had fun...and enjoyed the role.
And when the character didn't perish.
@@mikeshirleyforever Ouch.
Were those days actually simpler? Or were they just simpler because you were younger?
I think about these things often, probably too often.
Only 90's people can understand the rhythm of the song, hope we meet after 5 years
It's songs like this at an end of a movie that really make you feel like you've gone for the ride.

Daniel Williamson the best to me
Daniel Williamson GoldenEye is easily Brosnan’s best outing as Bond.
I get goosebumps at these credits.
"The experience of looooooovvveeeeeee.............. *U N D E R T H E S K Y* "

God, so much 90s nostalgia!
I remember walking out of this movie. I was in high school. All was right in the world.
Alfred Valrie i was in 8th grade in 95, i remember seeing it at the local theatre in my town of Pelham, NY with all my friends. Time flies.

The best Bond film, maybe it's the nostalgia of it being my first Bond film from my childhood and the n64 game was awesome too.
FRWL is the best Bond film, this is one of the best though.
Best Bond movie ever. Watched this a million times as a kid in the 90s.
This is like when someone walks into your life, you fall madly in love and your perspective of life changes. In a perfect world 🌎
I told my missus that it was Pierce Brosnan singing this song. Fucking hysterical laughter followed.
Why would you say that Pierce Brosnan sang this?
Have you heard his singing voice? Watch Mama Mia. :D

Fantastic ending to a fantastic movie
After the most tense soundtrack moments in a 007 movie, this song is like a soothing post-workout mellow-down period for the ears. 🎵
🔥🔥🔥🔥 One of the best James Bonds ever. Movie and Actor
I do find Brosnan's last words "what could possibly go wrong?" kind of ironic in a way considering how his era ended.
Oh yeah I
Steve B this was by far his best film. Imagine if they could have out done this film over and over again. He’d be the best Bond without a doubt.
Yes
Victor Cruz Too bad his next three got more and more outlandish.
Sean Bean plays one of the best Bond villains ever too!
he was too busy collecting 50 millions for each bond to give a shit a bout libtard ratings
If anyone asks who Derek meddling she was the special effects director who passed away 09/15/95
Definitely Brosnans best and one of the best in the franchise. The Living Daylights and License to Kill are both up there as well. Dalton was great but he should've replaced Roger Moore much sooner.
I remember renting this on vhs back in the 6th grade my 1st introduction to Pierce as Bond man good times I had a huge crush on Famake Jenson
