this was by far the superior program, you can't base a program on a jump count, its the total package, line, edges, etc.... also this was a new and fresh routine they presented, not one that had been repeated for years
Thank you for posting this beautiful quality clip. This was stunning in 2002 and still wins the gold, hands down, IMO. Difficult, precise, fast, intertwining moves...no contest. The only good thing about the "scandal" was that it led to the infinitely better scoring system we now have where difficult SKATING is properly rewarded rather than just whether or not you jump cleanly. Thanks for the reminder.
Imho, this LP had the potential to win but ONLY if it was perfectly executed (and it was not, it felt like 85% of their form). Only then- combined with that amazing, beautiful, absolutely PERFECT SP- Russia should've won. This was still very good, but it felt like they didn't practice LP as well as they did the SP :D. While the Canadian Short program was not as good as Russian, the LP should've put Canadians 1st. Or idk, maybe there should've been TWO first places :)
Well, what can you say, this wasn't a clean program, on both Sikharulidze's jump and the first triple landing of Berezhnaya, whereas S&P were technically flawless. I think this program is much more beautiful, better music, better choregraphy and costume.

Какие же они молодцы! Вспоминаю как смотрела их выступление в прямом эфире и переживала!

Гениально!!!
Шедеврально !
Класс катания на несколько порядков выше, чем у канадской пары.
they are like a dream........wonderful
Simply the Best Team at 2002 Olympics. It´s a shame that they had to share the gold. They truly were robbed.
