Whenever I came across such news, HAL LUH always comes in my mind. Our military is still using outdated Chetah helicopters even after presence of a superior indigenous option name HAL Light utility helicopters.
Army had asked for a dual engine luh. Hal even after that developed single engine luh.
Our psu develop things without looking at requirements and then want forces to aquire it.
Forces keep changing requirements that is also a thing.
@@nikhilverma2647 Bro, in higher altitudes like Siachen glaciers, single engine helicopters are required, not dual one. Atleast LUH is better compared to decade older and inferior Chetah helicopters.
2 Cheetah fly daily over Clement Town cantonment in Dehradun. I wonder why they are flown daily over the same area. Sometimes I spot one Chetak accompanying the two Cheetahs. Army Aviation Corps Dhrub has also been spotted but occasionally. Chinooks too have been spotted by me but that's very rare and only when they are lifting something to or from the Chandigarh depot to locations deep inside Uttarakhand's mountainous regions. Mi-17s are seen regularly ferrying VIPs. I wish to see more of Dhruv and less of Cheetah and Chetak. Only once have I spotted a WSI Dhruv over Dehradun, and that was about 5-6 weeks back.
@@Ronit_9977 I am telling you what army wanted. 2 engine make it safer, even if one goes out other can do the job. Possibly the reason.
Dhruv is heavy for the requirements.
If they make luh with 2 engines, it will be taken immediately. obviously without increasing the weight.
Don't worry, in the near future they will order it. Army is waiting for the production line to mature enough to work in its optimum capacity. If you know the recent helicopters manufacturing plant opened (which is the largest in Asia), and HAL itself is increasing its capacity. Once these all problems are sorted, we will order them. In the next 2 year.
Dhanush 52 has one massive advantage over Bharat 52, the former's barrel is retractable!

MIL needs order since atags goes to Bharat forge.after dhanush 45 Calibre, dhanush 52 will keep the production lines running for MIL
Every now and then it appears we are lacking in Metallurgy and Material Science...advance composites that can reduce weight comsiderably and infact increase strength..
The higher ATAGS weight is due to the completely automatic loader system and long barrel size which give ATAGS the advantages that it enjoys over other systems.

Please fast track our paper work and get the orders and make it happen within 2yrs timeline. Both the guns are good enough.. Go for made in India since during war procurement of ammunition and service, maintaince become easier and any modifications are upgrades we can do it as per our requirements without any issues

Bharat 52 or Dhanush 52...Which one would be better option based on performance & reliability...kindly throw some of your insights on this please...because, as far as i recall, around 2019 or so i came across some news-bits that our 'Dhanush', 155mm 45cal or 52cal, had some issues with barrel and/or muzzle brakes during testing...on the other hand Bharat 52 might be based in gerald bull (45 cal) design....btw its good that IA is going for this instead of Israeli option
The Indian army will first go for a proposal under DPP 2020 and then find some lacuna in Bharat-52 and Dhanush-52. They have already thrown out the biggest threat in the form of ATAGS out of the competition through maximum weight requirement. After the lacuna is found, IA will say we are helpless as there is no indigenous option available, and we will be forced to go with Athos 2052 with maximum possible indigenous content.

This has been a recurring issue with Indian development agencies. The weight limit is being criticised in the Arjun tank also. In both the cases the army had already specified the limits before hand.
Army requirements are also really odd at times. They want the best of Armour but light weight. These two cannot go together in the budget available with DRDO and IA. This was clearly communicated by both Manohar Parrikar and the then DRDO chief. The defense minister had even gone on to say that the requirements of armed forces come from the moon.
