2013 was by far the best f1 game codemasters released !!. i remember going from 2012 to 2013 and being amazed by how much better the car felt, but from then all f1 games feel like your racing on a cloud to a degree.
2013 was my second year on F1 and my year in racing league and can remember back in the day my first season in TRL when Jamie Metcalf was running it. My first team mate was TRL Martin and my gamertag back then was TRL Perez. The nostalgia is unreal watchin this video, defo wish we can go back to those days
for me this is best f1 game all this sick animations the cut scenes the lighting incredible. what i liked the most is that when you changed the setup the guys that are infront you actual are changing the stuff like anti roll bars etc etc really good game
I played 2011 as my first F1 game but this was the 1st one I really played competitively. I wasnt that good compared to my 2017 peak but I loved this game!!
I've recently played a little 2010 to 2014. These games are like time capsules, you can set how the cars change shape and sound, plus you see driver names that you remember.... And some you're like 'who the hell is that!?' 😂
F1 2013 was the most nostalgic for me as it was my first F1 game and the first time I properly started to watch F1. F1 2012 was also really enjoyable to play. Overall the previous games hold up well in comparison to now, the AI were no where near as good however. Codies I think the amount of time they've had the game should be producing a better online experience. Bugs in F1 2021 career and my team make the game very difficult to enjoy and the AI really need to be re balanced through high speed corners especially. Hopefully in F1 2022 they can make a very polished, well rounded game, with little to no bugs
It was a wonderful period back then, the enthusiasm/knowledge for racing from all the people was something special. i think that also made league racing feel more real, it was more than just a game. On f1 2012/13 the pace went another level if i got within 6 tenths of you i was happy!
I remember the AOR League Racing productions from this game. That was INSANELY great to watch! I watched every race from start to finish. Crazy! Remember Noble2909, you and xMattyG going at it :)
Yes F1 2013 was my fav game overall, great handling, great music, great career, plus the extra cars and 4 classic tracks, superb rounded game. And yes, it had an online mode that just worked smoothly as you'd expect. It is possible, codemasters. To get back to this, codies/ea need to cut out all the peripheral stuff that either doesn't matter or really doesn't get much playtime (Braking point, F2 etc) and just get the core game (online especially) working smoothly and properly, before branching out into other stuff.
That was very impressive, and I fully agree that the 2013 game is the best F1 gaming experience to date. The sound of the Red Bull engine in particular was magical.
f1 2012 is where league racing really started foe me, 2013 was just mind blowing at the time, especially with the classic content. just started playing f1 2013 recent and having some fun making some vids with it, still impresses me today in 2022
I tried many of the top F1 games everyone says - 2018, 2020, 2021, and even the latest 2022. Something common every single one of them had was that it always felt like I was watching a stabilised video. There was no feedback. The camera shake basically went down to zero, vibrations got weaker everytime, and dare I say the sounds got worse too. As many others say, it felt like I was on a cloud. In this game, on the other hand, even when you hit the curb - turn off the vibrations if you want - I could *feel* it. The camera shake, the sounds, the handling, everything felt so real. So unforgiving. I just can't go any further than 2013.
i used to absolutely love this game, fighting for top 50 on time trial with my madcat LAP RESTING steering wheel. which the force feedback was two rubber bands inside hahaha. good times.
i've been playing F1 games since F1 2006 in ps2, then the championship edition on PS3, and finally the long awaited (at that time) F1 2010 from codemasters... i got that one on xbox 360 and played tha hell out of that game... .. , but my fav will always be 2012 and 2013 ... i still have them and it feels nostalgic to play them again
I did not even understand when 17 minutes passed by. Time flies, I loved this game as well, it brings back so many good memories. I would like to see more:)
I started playing F1 games with F1 2012, but F1 2013 was my introduction to league racing. There was something about the overall driving experience that made it really satisfying. Also the extras like classic cars and circuits were really good.
I started League Racing on f1 2020, Because I watched your video’s before I started to play f1 2019, and I actually won my first league race on Silverstone. Due to Your Motivation that you have gave me over the past two years I have been improving a lot, so now I have won multiple league races and I am standing p1 in That championship with 4 races to go. Hopefully I can become a member soon to fulfill my dream to compete with you on a PlayStation Open Lobby
F1 2013 > Every other F1 Game I spent probably 1000 hours playing against my brother in Splitscreen Mode at the age of 12.. This got me into Sim Racing in the end
honestly i feel like they keep removing more features than they are adding... less effort for more money it seems... they copy tracks since 2014? and just slap a shader on it and BAM next gen track! whoo!! and they have the balls to say it takes over a year to develop a produce a track into the game, yet Jeddah, a track that didnt even exist in real life yet, was made to life into the game without any real effort... i think they can add alot more tracks... they need 2023 to be a COMPLETE game. all tracks they ever done, all modes, and the old cars from 2020. (talking about the historic cars). then the game might actually be worth the 60 euros/pounds/dollars they claim it to be. but 2021 definitely isnt worth the pricetag. maybe 2021 is a 20 pound DLC for 2020, and 2020 was a DLC for 2019 etc... they havent been actual full game releases since 2016.
F1 2012 closely followed by 2013 for me are the best codies F1 Games. First time league racing and i got so immersed into it all, some very close and clean racing made it so satisfying. Beyond these two, F1 2017 I really enjoyed for the feeling of the cars
I was just playing this game and it's servers are still up. This by far is the best Codemasters F1 game ever. My favorite part is the 80's content. Long live Ferrari and Of course, Ayrton Sena. Note: This game came out 10 year's ago.
They really need to bring back the weather they had in F1 2012, it’s unrealistic to not have a dry line and also some part of the track could be wet and others be dry or the sun would be coming through the clouds but it could still be kind of raining. Need it back
I've played F1 games since GP3 and the version that I really love is F1 2011, have it on xbox 360 but unfortunately doesn't accept any wheels... With all covid stuff and confined in home, I've made a transition from controller to wheel on F1 2020 and the immersion sooo much fun... You and Tiametmarduk are my source of setups since ever, thanks for your work :D
F1 2013? I remember playing F1 Challenge '99-'02. I was a new F1 fan and just saw Spa 1998 on youtube for the first time and I tried to create the biggest 1st lap pile-up possible. Tried to mod the weather so that everyone started on slicks but a few seconds into the race there would be a downpour, like Nurburgring 2007. I would edit the cars so that they would drive more at a speed of an F4 car and give the other drivers the names of my classmates and imagining we were racing each other. And everyone would complain that we haven't had a proper F1 game for years because it was prior to Codemasters F1 games but a good few years after the F1 Challenge came out. I probably wouldn't be able to enjoy modern F1 games anywhere near as much.
Really love to see you in a old F1 game! F1 2013 was really nice. I was playing it on Playstation 3 back at that time. This game has a good gameplay. The cars & tracks are so nice. It's a shame that the Korean track had so much bad publicity. Especially the 2010 race was an instant classic for me. It was quite interesting hearing your thoughts about the multiplayer of F1 2013 (quick modes). I wasn't playing online at that time, so I never got the see that in person. I don't like the F1 2021 multiplayer. I'm a dad of two children, so I don't have that much free time. When playing, I really hate having to wait minutes in order to get into a lobby. And often times, I never get to into a race as the connection breaks up or the game freezes. I would really love to see you in F1 2012 as this game was actually really good back at that time.
I’m very much a casual gamer. I played F1 back in 2009 but when F1 2011 came out I found it too hard to play on a controller and gave up for a bit. Not yet tried f1 2021
My first one was Grand Prix 2 and is still my big love when it comes to F1 games. Sadly, it only works via Dosbox which I have never managed to fully set up. It is either too slow, too fast or there are other issues like no sound. I was 12 in 1996, so I didn’t really understand how good the game really was, but looking back, the depth and sheer realism of Grand Prix 2 was maybe matched 10 years later at best. Sure, it didn’t have rain, which Grand Prix 3 did, but Grand Prix 2 remains a legendary game for me. I wish you could give it a go on your stream one time, have you ever played it?
As controversial as it may be I think the one thing that would improve the F1 games, and thus all sports games, is to turn it into a live service game like Playstation did with GT Sport...but it needs to be done right. Unfortunately as long as EA owns this game it will probably never happen. As a live service game they could spend a few years properly building the game and then once released they just add new tracks that come up every year (or add classic tracks that they used to race at), update the teams and driver lineups, etc... Ithink if they follow th GT Sport model (Gran Turismo 7) and improve upon it, this game would be drastically better.
My main genre was FPS. I was playing from voodoo 1 days and even competed in tournaments in game Unreal Tournament 1999 and once in 2000 won second place. I still remember missed shot that put me second. I got Geforce MX for that second place. But slowly I was getting tired of always shooting the same arabs, russians, koreans, "ghosts",... And 2011-2013 were the years I completely stopped playing games. But in 2018 I found myself at sim racing expo and tried simracing. I then bought G29 and fell in love. Next was simrig, Then Wheel and pedals. Simracing became my hobby. I remember F1 2018. It was the game where one update disabled my FFB and then it was completely messed up. Even in F1 2019 FFB wasn't working correctly. So I wasn't playing 2019 and 2020 at all. I play F1 2021 for fun races with the AI. I just jump into simrig and have fun with AI for 40 min. I don't take F1 2021 seriously. Sim racing seriously. I accept the nature of F1 games, catering to a large audience and gamepad players. But all the bugs, problems with wheels, buttons on wheels, "missing buttons" on wheels, problems with FFB, problems with pedals, non-changeable buttons (!!!) for no reason whatsoever,... Why? F1 2021 is a game based on EGO game engine which got last major update around 2015. I would rather see "F1 Platform Game" which is always evolving and fixing bugs, and every year new DLC with updated liveries. I think that would be better for game devs and for consumers, even if every new DLC would cost the same as the whole game. iRacing with the release of Mercedes W11 was great and it could be great for simracing if they release more F1 cars, but I still want to see a dedicated F1 games.
It's very coincidental, but earlier this week I also returned to F1 2013 for the first time in many years. This game man... apart from the fact I started league racing there, I really loved watching the AOR coverage with you, Matty, Noble, Fisi and all those other guys back in the day. I have so many great memories from that time, it was just such a simple and more basic experience compared to the modern F1 games and I think that's what made it great. The games these days just don't hit the same vibe as F1 2013 did for me, and they haven't for quite some time. EDIT: I forgot to mention the classic cars and tracks, had so much fun with those as well. I could drive Estoril all day every day back then... probably nostalgia speaking, but I still think this is the best F1 game Codemasters ever made.
Bro, I might be a little biased as I'm indian and badly miss the IndianGP, could you please do a 25% race at india, with other people, I think(i think) you're just about famous enough that people who have f1 2013, might join you, I think a lotta UA-camrs would love to join aswell. I know, a very biased request, but you always deliver, and again thanks for the amazing sounds amd this amazing video. Keep it up brother. ❤
I'd also like some good match making where you can roughly select the settings you want and It finds a lobby that is ready to start of is nearly finished racing.
F1 2012 and 2013 were legit i only played classic cars in 2013 they were so good to drive the modern cars lacked that dynamic feel that the classic cars had and the modern games have now
This game looks beautiful, this track looks insane! Really wish I was into the F1 games at this time, this looks like I would’ve had a great time on it. I wish they had more tracks in today’s game, like Korea and India. Codemasters really need to fix the online servers and problems with griefers in ranked lobbies. For a AAA game, it’s not what I’ve expected. There are so many bugs and crashes on PC. I hope the partnership with EA doesn’t ruin this game
2013 was by far the best f1 game codemasters released !!. i remember going from 2012 to 2013 and being amazed by how much better the car felt, but from then all f1 games feel like your racing on a cloud to a degree.
Agree mate. 2013 hands down the best f1 game.
oh yes F1 2012 and 2013 on Xbox 360.....best F1 games
I was playing 2013 till 2019. because it was perfect.
I remember racing against you in a online lobby at Silverstone while at the same time running your Setup on F1 2013.
F1 12/13 were the best
just watched the intro of F1 2005 with Muse’s song and it brought so many memories. An now JD reminiscing as well 🥲
Eminem
2013 was my second year on F1 and my year in racing league and can remember back in the day my first season in TRL when Jamie Metcalf was running it. Good to see you again man 😄
2012 and 2013 are my absolute favorites, loved doing 100% races as often as I could, the games definitely dropped off starting in 2014.
I just appreciate that they've programmed the flexi wing, it's just mesmerising to see it in action
for me this is best f1 game all this sick animations the cut scenes the lighting incredible.
what i liked the most is that when you changed the setup the guys that are infront you actual are changing the stuff like anti roll bars etc etc
really good game
I played 2011 as my first F1 game but this was the 1st one I really played competitively. I wasnt that good compared to my 2017 peak but I loved this game!!
Classic Cars, Classic Tracks, V8,V10,V12, BEST F1 GAME EVER
I've recently played a little 2010 to 2014. These games are like time capsules, you can set how the cars change shape and sound, plus you see driver names that you remember.... And some you're like 'who the hell is that!?' 😂
Murray Walkers voice in classic cars mode of that game hit different.
Noble was the original Opmeer for sure
That silver Vodafone McLaren livery is freakin iconic! What a livery
The Best For Me 2020 & 2013

Still playing F1 2013 to this date

Completely agree man, just had an atmosphere that really made it special. Hope you're keeping well man 🙏 👊
I remember the AOR League Racing productions from this game. That was INSANELY great to watch! I watched every race from start to finish. Crazy! Remember Noble2909, you and xMattyG going at it :)
This is wholesome content! 🔥

Suddenly driving without FFB.
Me, with a Thrustmaster Ferrari wheel with no FFB on F1 2021:
I feel ya JD, I feel ya
2017 was my favorite f1 game, driving that ferrari was pure satisfaction
That was very impressive, and I fully agree that the 2013 game is the best F1 gaming experience to date. The sound of the Red Bull engine in particular was magical.
f1 2012 is where league racing really started foe me, 2013 was just mind blowing at the time, especially with the classic content. just started playing f1 2013 recent and having some fun making some vids with it, still impresses me today in 2022
Engine sound incredible.

2013 is still my all time fav. I actually booted it up a few weeks ago and it doesnt work with my T300rs.
My first & favorite f1 game was countdown to the championship. Had so much fun on that game as a kid
for me this is one of the best F1 games. I love it!
i've been playing F1 games since F1 2006 in ps2, then the championship edition on PS3, and finally the long awaited (at that time) F1 2010 from codemasters... i got that one on xbox 360 and played tha hell out of that game... .. , but my fav will always be 2012 and 2013 ... i still have them and it feels nostalgic to play them again
I mean in the intro to this game always got me so pumped to play, best game they have made!
I did not even understand when 17 minutes passed by. Time flies, I loved this game as well, it brings back so many good memories. I would like to see more:)
I held the 23rd fastest time on Spa on 2013:) this game brings me so many good memories. I loved this game so much. Still do
I want to buy it but it dosent show up in steam
I started playing F1 games with F1 2012, but F1 2013 was my introduction to league racing. There was something about the overall driving experience that made it really satisfying. Also the extras like classic cars and circuits were really good.
I run 1-1 wings in online races in Monza and Spa, combined with a good suspension setup they really do it for me perfectly
Yes, pressing like instantly.
The tracks bring back so many memories! I wish F1 2022 had more classic and older tracks.
F1 2006 championship edition is the best F1 games of all time!
A SHORT VIEW BACK TO THE PAST!! Great content...
I think driving the classic turbos was totally sublime.
I have it in my ps3 and I will never stop playing it till it breaks down
F1 2013 > Every other F1 Game
I spent probably 1000 hours playing against my brother in Splitscreen Mode at the age of 12.. This got me into Sim Racing in the end
Oh man the splitscreen
honestly i feel like they keep removing more features than they are adding... less effort for more money it seems... they copy tracks since 2014? and just slap a shader on it and BAM next gen track! whoo!! and they have the balls to say it takes over a year to develop a produce a track into the game, yet Jeddah, a track that didnt even exist in real life yet, was made to life into the game without any real effort... i think they can add alot more tracks... they need 2023 to be a COMPLETE game. all tracks they ever done, all modes, and the old cars from 2020.
Can you do more of the old games please
F1 2012 closely followed by 2013 for me are the best codies F1 Games. First time league racing and i got so immersed into it all, some very close and clean racing made it so satisfying. Beyond these two, F1 2017 I really enjoyed for the feeling of the cars

to sum it up when you saw LG and a purple time, then you know its the good old days and the perfect feeling

Yoooooooooooooooooooooooooo JD here Trl limitless
I still have F1 2013 and to me, it's still the best F1 game. I can spend like 3-5 hours on this game 🎯❤
Legendary game. F1 2012 & 2013 ARL/AOR times
Korea and malaysia are such fun tracks to drive, wish the new games would use these old tracks.
F1 2013? I remember playing F1 Challenge '99-'02. I was a new F1 fan and just saw Spa 1998 on youtube for the first time and I tried to create the biggest 1st lap pile-up possible. I would really love to see you in F1 2012 as this game was actually really good back at that time.
F1 2013 was the best, many hours with my old G25
I’m very much a casual gamer. I played F1 back in 2009 but when F1 2011 came out I found it too hard to play on a controller and gave up for a bit. Not yet tried f1 2021
I raced this game too, it was a great game, hoping to make a return to the series soon, I have the skills.
Started sim racing on f1 2020 but seriously debating getting this game it looks so simple and fun
My first one was Grand Prix 2 and is still my big love when it comes to F1 games.

This game is so good that F1 2014 is the exact copy paste of this, despite the huge rules change

EDIT: I forgot to mention the classic cars and tracks, had so much fun with those as well. I could drive Estoril all day every day back then... probably nostalgia speaking, but I still think this is the best F1 game Codemasters ever made.
turn off the DRS before the corner it helps alot in braking. Love from INDIA. Please try and race at NEW DELHI CIRCUIT TOO
The biggest difference I get by watching this video is THE SOUND of a V8, 18,000 RPM, naturally aspirated engine. Power at your disposal at all time!
That tune… beautiful x
"That's what I'm talking about, that's why he's better than me, that's why he's the goat the GOAT!"
I raced in AOR as well. The first call competitive League Racing for me. Way to get my feet wet.
finally someone plays this game with a wheel. What is your wheel seetings?
F1 2012 that’s where it started for me
F1 2013 wow what a game to remember
Awesome to see you play an 'old' game in anger.
my favorite f1 games are 2005, 2012 and 2013. idk they just hit different when I'm playing.
that mclaren livery is just soooo good
I loved 2018, would love to see you playing it
They need to make it a Full Sim.
To this day I have a soft spot for that lotus.
I'd also like some good match making where you can roughly select the settings you want and It finds a lobby that is ready to start of is nearly finished racing.
Microprose gp was my favourite F1 games
F1 2012 and 2013 were legit i only played classic cars in 2013 they were so good to drive the modern cars lacked that dynamic feel that the classic cars had and the modern games have now
More tracks besides the yearly calendar, so you can make your own championship.
2006 / 2012 / 2018 was my favourite imo
I got all the F1 Codies games since the F1 2010 version. My favourite is still F1 2012. The last one I just didn't buy anymore.
Why does the helmet look so big?
Yeah...the head looks so closed on the tvcam. Weird though.
Idk why you didn't have ffb but I do have with my Thrustmaster Wheel very good FFB and I love driving this game with wheel too
Is there still any active servers on that game? I wanna play an older F1 game where they have 2010-2012 V10s.
I hope the partnership with EA doesn’t ruin this game
that intro made me tear up
Go back on F1 2010, at Bahrein, the track was just a pleasure to drive !
Does this have different difficulty levels and views and best line?
My first game was f1 2012 and I've loved it I also played 2013 which was amazing but from 2014 onwards every game feels like a letdown
Codemasters best F1 games chronologically are: F1 2013, F1 2016, F1 2020.
