I love how passionate he is about this song. He’s said it’s one of his favorite songs of his own. It seems like he is almost struggling to sing though. Almost as though he wasn’t feeling well at the time of the show. I love john, such a talented and dedicated performer. He loves his fans and he’s loyal.
For the guitar players, I figured out what’s going on at the 1:58 mark. We have some semi-tonality going on, where he’s playing two notes that are a half step away from one another (on the b & e string). In most instances, and if played alone, our ears perceive the notes as dissonant, but John has a beautiful resolution back to the root. In music, resolving back to the root often triggers a feeling of relief in the listeners brain 👍 wonderful stuff.
