- In this video I install an aftermarket Hizpo brand Android 7.1 DVD Navigation System into my 2012 F250. This headunit is not completely plug and play in the 2011-up but everything works except the steering wheel controls. I will get them working in another video.
Updated Link to purchase this stereo amzn.to/2yzbpPe
100% would have put stereo back in box and returned if I hadn't watched your videos. Thank you so much
Thanks for taking the time to share your expertise. It is now less intimidating for a novice like me.
Wow great review especially of the lots of small annoying problems & tech issues that would drive most folks with less experience crazy.
Thank you
Can you post the exact stereo you bought, where can it be found? I have a 2011 F-250, don't need the camera, Did you happen to look for the harness to make steering wheel controls work? it comes with correct wiring plugs?
Where did you get the harness I can't find it anywhere
Great video, thank you for sharing your expertise
How did you order that radio with the f250 plugs? What model number is the radio
Andrew Beeman that link says it's for a 08-10 f250 will it fit a 11-16 f250
@@gabemeyer3688 yes they are the same. its the exact kit hes using, model number and everything
@@TheBeeMan1994 so the only difference is the link you have had backup camera with it and its one that goes on license plate then correct
Is that correct then ?
Did you figure out the steering wheel control
Cool.. it is what i want to do to my truck.. thanks u
what model number is the radio
Did this one actually work? I bought 3 from amazon, and they were all junk. Would power on, but wouldn't display anything
What do you wire the medium size plug to? I purchased a wiring harness and it only came with the larger harness. I wired it up and the unit comes on but no sound. I do not have steering wheel controls and have the basic stereo in my 2011 F-250.
U ever figure this out?
Thanks for making this video. It is full of valuable information that I used to install a Jensen CAR910X in my 2012 Super Duty with OEM Navigation unit. I too wanted to wire my AUX4 switch to force the rear camera on, but have failed. I used the switch to parallel 12V to the Reverse wire in the harness. I put in diodes so the AUX and Reverse signal did not back feed into each other, but both put 12V onto the head unit Reverse input. I assumed the radio would see the 12V on the Reverse and both switch to display the rear camera AND power up the camera by putting 12V on the Camera Power output wire. For some reason the Reverse Camera still works when I shift into Reverse. However, while the AUX4 switch makes the head unit switch display to camera, it doesn't power the camera, so the display reads No Signal from Camera. WHAT? How is this possible?
Is there a backup camera wire from my rear view mirror backup screen is to hook up to this radio thanks
Just bought this for a 2012 F250 and it doesn’t work. Radio works fine when truck is off, and then turns off when I turn truck ignition on. When truck ignition is on it get the “no signal message”. Don’t understand, I may try to return it and get a new one to try out again.
Great Video! Can you explain more on the diode information? Size ? Wiring? Thanks.
I’ve purchased this radio for my 2016 f350 and when I turn the key on for the truck the radio says no signal what could be wrong? When the key is off the radio works and does not say no signal
Mine doesn't even say no signal. It's on, but just a black screen. Did you ever figure anything out?
Austin Nichols we took it to a professional and they determined that the cam box it came with was not programmed for the right truck we followed the links for this radio and got the one for the 2016 supposedly however it didn’t work. We sent it back and got a name brand radio
@@michaelamanross3903 well, that sucks... I really like the way this one looks, but if it doesn't work, it's no good
Austin Nichols yeah we liked it to but it just ended up not working
Im gonna be putting in my old pioneer dvd player in and will have to buy a aftermarket backup camera. It has the logo camera now but wonder if the tailgate handle would be better? It's a little cheaper
The tailgate handle camera gives a much better view than the logo camera. Plus, you don't have to cut the tailgate open for it to work. Plus it's pretty much centered.
What connection in the back did u make I saw someone else say the same but no ones says what to make it to
Mine turns on none of my controls in the truck work and the unit will not shut off when the key is turned off
Canbus incompatibility most likely.
So, do you have a link for the aftermarket camera? I only saw a link for the radio…
I have a similar android radio and 2011 f350. I just can't seem to find the acc wire to tap into. My wireharness fits but doesn't quite work. I got mine from dblink. It's the fd03. Also could you elaborate more and a reverse wire signal wire. I've looked for ablue/white one but was told that was not a good one to tap into.
For the reverse wire i always run it from the backup lights in the bed along with the signal wire from the camera. See my other video for a good accessory wire feed. ua-cam.com/video/2hWT9sGHLgs/v-deo.html
Does this just fit a 11-16 Ford or will it fit from 08 -16
It's made for the 08up
I thought I put this question up but I guess not. Could you please tell me what value the diode you used and maybe a little diagram of the wiring? Also where did the cam box come from?
For illumination what if you don't have upfitter switches
Go from the headlight switch. That's the best way. Use the parking light power feed. Hot when parking lights are on.
I have an android head unit but mine doesn't have AM,
does your play AM radio stations.
Yes
Where can I get the camara?
How much can you see out the rar camera is it adjustable
Jack of All Master of None Where did you put tour mic for BT calling? I just bought a deck but can't seem position the mic in a position that picks up my voice, I am finding that the stock mic with the sync system is far superior to the driod head unit. I just want another opinion, thanks
+Cheyenne I just use the internal mic on this installation but I would normally put it up along the headliner near the mirror
Will this work with an Apple phone or do you need a different one?
How is the actual radio, someone installed a Jensen radio in my truck and the radio is horrible picking up fm stations that are normal strong. Thinking about going to something like this. Thanks!
It has worked very well for me no problems. The reception is worse than a pioneer or Kenwood
Did you have problems configuring the protocol for truck(decoder shit).
Will it work with the sync system?
How do I retain radio after using a playstore launcher app.
Can't find the wiring harness anywhere. Keep finding single plug.
My 2013 F250 has steering wheel controls and I assume they worked with the factory stereo. The previous owner removed the stereo and installed a junk Walmart single din. Anyway, will I need FORSCAN to get the steering wheel controls working? I'm thinking no?
No you should not need to do anything
@@JackofAllMasterofNone Thanks.
Any info on the harness adapter you'd need to keep the factory microphone?
Looks good man
se puede cambio el tablero de f250 2011 a 2013
Great vid. Just ordered the same exact one off amazon for my 2012 f250, suppose to be here Monday. I'll be using this vid for sure, How are you liking it so far?
Jim 08 Ive had many Android head units and this is by far the best one Ive ever had. The sound quality is very good. In my other video I got the steering wheel controls working as well. Enjoy.
Jim 08 is this thing still going strong?
Daren Ferreira I'm hoping so. Im thinking about scooping one up for $200.
I am installing this into my truck and when plugged in and I turn the key I only get a white screen. There is a blue acc+ wire out of the main plug but I don’t see anything to connect it to. Do you know what wire or pin I can connect into the can?
Unfortunately I dont have enough information to help. It depends on what year you are installing this in. In my truck, there was no use for the can interface. The blue wire you describe sounds like the power antenna or amp wire. They will most likely not be connected to anything.
@@JackofAllMasterofNone I am installing in a 2011 f350. The red wires you had to connect to get the unit don’t appear to be on the unit but it’s the same unit you had. It’s labeled the same as your red wire was as well. If you would like feel free to contact me. I would greatly appreciate it!! Garrett.rose35@gmail.com
How do you change the radio Channels
Nice job awesome
I have a 2014 ford f250 and bought stereo using your link off of Amazon will I have and install that you did with acc power or will I have to cut red wire from stereo and run wire to purple green wire?
I have another video on finding the acc wire. It just depends on what truck you have but I bet you will have to get it from the bcm
@@JackofAllMasterofNone is that's where you found your purple and green wire?

Hi were did you make the back connection
was it hard to wire back up camera? like was there small thin wire that you had to ground. are the wires quality? how much did that camera cost?
I don't remember how much it was. Google Ford oval backup camera. It was not real easy to install. Had to cut metal on the tailgate. Not for beginners really. It was good quality and works well. You do have to hook up power and ground.
Jack of All Master of None ok where did you hook up to power and where did you ground it, I have a cheap one now and the wires are so thin and crappy and trying to ground to frame on outside of truck with thin wires isn’t idea
Hey man any idea how to change the operating system? I don’t like the one mine came with, it’s different than yours and I like yours a lot more!
It depends. Lots of info on the forums. Just Google it.
I installed this same system into my 2011 f250, without the can connected I have no power, with it connected it's on all the time with the switch turned off, any help?
ua-cam.com/video/2hWT9sGHLgs/v-deo.html
My unit wont turn on with the truck. I have to push the unit power button to turn on and off. Also where is the video for the stering wheel?
I have a 2012 F250
Great video. I want to put a radio like this in my 2013 f250 xlt. Does music sound the same as the factory stereo or do you need a amp?
Better than factory stereo
Great video!
I have a 16 xlt I already have steering wheel controls and sync also have sat radio. Will everything work plug in play? Or will I have to use 4scan also? Thanks! Your videos are very helpful!
If you install a stereo like this you will loose sat radio and sync.
@@JackofAllMasterofNone ok, since the truck has steering wheel controls from factory they should work plug in play?
@@dustinlee8389 No. Probably not. Watch this video ua-cam.com/video/38oEHUenAPQ/v-deo.html
You will probably need an interface.
I picked up a similar unit for my F250. Had the same issue with the illumination wire. When I tried to connect it to my upfitter switch like you it caused the illumination lights to flash on and off. Did you run into this? A constant 12V keeps the lights on so I’m not sure if it’s an issue with the wiring or unit itself.
The fix is to use +12v from the parking light circuit. The problem with using the upfitter switches (which i found out myself later) is they dim when u lower the brightness of your dash lights and drop voltage, which causes the radio illumination to go haywire.
Can you use an iPhone with this radio. And is it possible to have satellite radio
Yes and No.
got the Hizpo unit for my 2015 F250 and got it up and running but it wont shut off when the key is pulled out and door opened. It seems to be hot wired to the battery once it is plugged in. Any idea how to fix this problem? Or is it time to send back to Amazon for another one that is prewired correctly. The unit has good picture/sound quality and interfaces with the backup camera well, too. Thanks in advance for any info
hello I have the same problem, did you solve the problem?
@@hinojo8075 no. Returned it
Donde compro el radio igual que ese
Are you still using this head unit?
Yes
Is this unit compatible with iphone8 will it mirror or show youtube or video from phone
You can do apple CarPlay or Android Auto and there is an app on it to mirror your phone, but its very laggy and I dont recommend it
What are the aux 123 and 4 mean
Those are factory aux upfitrer switches. can be used for anything. I wired aux 4 to manually turn on the backup camera.
Where did you get the flush mount kit for the usb and aux cord?
Amazon
Do you lose function of the stock subwoofer if you go with a aftermarket headunit?
Depends on the headunit. But you can keep a stock sub working with an aftermarket adapter kit.
Is there an android deck for the superduty that has sub ore out for an aftermarket mono amp
This unit has a subwoofer output.
Hi my friend where can I buy the audio system
This is the latest version of this stereo amzn.to/3urEAig
