Thanks Tightrope! This video has improved the mechanics of how I will use my time efficiently in games with cover decisions, especially with the cover drag or click methods. Cheers!
Relic if you are watching these video’s, which you should be, give this man a job please. His attention to detail and in-depth analysis is utterly flawless and to the nth degree.
Thank you for the great information, Tightrope! From my experience, the amount of spaces a piece of cover provides could be increased. A lot of care is required when building cover; I try to give ~4 meters of space between objects that provide cover as it is easy for models to stick to whatever cover is closest to them, not the cover you want them to be at. There are some strange properties with curved splines and cover; it requires great care to modify a wall spline so that its pathfinding footprint takes up relatively consistent squares on either side of it. Conversely, I found perfectly square-on (parallel to the X or Z axis and perpendicular to the opposite axis) generally provide consistent cover. However, in wall splines, there is a strange visual phenomenon where part of the texture will disappear. In your case with constructed sandbags, I'm not sure what's going on. I'd venture to guess that the pathfinding footprint of constructible objects doesn't necessarily match the cover box that it provides as accurate as it should. That would mean that your sandbags, in some cases, are constructed close enough to an edge that they spill over and block infantry pathfinding but too far away for their cover box to match.
i finally tried coh3 and is pretty good, i watched you playing it since it you started uploading vids with it, one thing i dont like, is the range of AT guns
You can move your HMG with the attack Move used, Next to the Cover. I Never Had no Cover After the attack command. But now they have to set up first. Furthermore you dont have to think about the Direktion they get attacked
Are the cover spots indicator reliable? Like if it's showing 2 spots are green cover for a 4 man, will it absolutely always be 2/4 in cover or can it change once you actually enter said cover?
I believe so. With the way that snapping into cover works it is actually somewhat hard to only get 2/4 models in cover without giving a stop command when they are part of the way in.
It feels like in every Engagement the First thing the mg Team is doing, that they shout for a new loader in the radio, because this guy always dies super fast 😂
I guess they messed it up, when they changed moving of units to not prefer being close to cover. They should add stances to allow units to take cover automatically and only by order, depending on a stance... I have no Idea why they move even backwards in "smart" controls... I heard that team weapons in coh2 does not move when target gets out of range, but in coh3 everything works with follow command, without ignore values for some situations. I just fed up with their shallowness, but still only Relic makes RTSes designed like it, while clones are much simpler or done wrong. Last balanced patches made meta even more boring without solving core of problems, only side effects.... But they almost never revisit some changes like vehicle speed, some vet abilities...
Hey tightrope! Really useful video. I've noticed a massive improvement in your video production. Very professional looking! Well done 👍 keep up the epic work and I might see you out on the battlefield sometime 🤪🪖
Tightrope, the tightest pillar of the CoH community
Tight! Tight! Tight! Yeah!
that is what he said

Pretty sure they got him in for some of their official tutorial videos
Relic needs to hire you already!
You God damn right
tightrope is the best in the business rn. Respect!
You are a blessing to the community.

I was facing this problem, it`s impressive that you saw the same problem.
Great video once again Tightrope. Looking forward to some more COH3 WM 1V1's!
Always great videos!

Gotta pay attention to my MG positioning more now! Maybe they also need a buff after TTK to match the buffs to everything else.

Great work!

very nice, coh3 is shaping up to be just like coh2
just realized COH 3 looks like the game that came out before COH2...
like coh1 you mean?
@@Nathaniel-L96 yeah

Big issue contributing to blobs being so effective in this game.
LOL so a core mechanic of the game has been busted for 2+ years.... Relic really is a sinking ship.
The key mechanic of the Coh franchise (cover) is broken 18 months since release? Wow. Thankfully, I didn't buy it. Seeing the videos is enough.

The faster I get at making videos, I usually end up putting that extra time into higher quality production/effects.
