I wish I'd seen this before I bought an entire suit of cafe appliances. The fridge, microwave and dishwasher all work fine. The 6 burner gas range...I'm on my second one in a month.
I bought the whole suite when I built my dream home 2 yrs back. The appliances are the matte white with brass handles in a navy blue kitchen. Just beautiful! Now to the complaints. It takes 30 minutes to preheat either oven. After 5 minutes the timer will ding and say it's at 350, but my oven thermometer will read less than 200. The glass cook top works fine. The fridge freezerburns anything not double wrapped within 2 weeks. BUT, the dishwasher is sooo quiet and does a great job of cleaning. I hope you're happier with the jenaire. My daughter loves her LG appliances.

iI have the same GE Cafe stove and from first day I owned it the oven when on the Convection Bake or Roast cycles does not maintain the set temperature It will sometimes be a drop of 100 - 150 degrees. I had many service calls and the stove was even replaced and it still is the same problem with the replacement . GE is useless. In the Bake cycle it works fine
The same thing happened to me. After much research we found that the maker of the GE Cafe, (GE doesn't make them, they hire another company to make them)was a new company that did an awful job. Anyway GE fired them and went back to the old company, so when GE replaced my oven with a new Cafe model made by the old company it has made all the difference. My new GE Cafe range is as great as my old one was terrible
Do you re,ember the company names? We’re looking to replace our old oven & considering GE Cafe. I’m hoping we’ll fare better with the quality & service! This sounds like such an awful experience this couple endured. We’d be purchasing ours from a local chain and not Lowe’s.
Almost got me... im passing on this one too. I have a whirlpool and the stove and refrigerator are pure garbage. The refrigerator has cracks all on the sides and the tracks to hold the salad door has cracked off. The glass from the stove (oven part) keeps falling out. Lowes and home depot sell subpar items. They both are barely 2 years old.
Hope your new range was everything you dreamed of.... you are 100% correct about GE and their service, including Lowes.... Lowes did come through for me in the end. I swore I would never own another GE product.... We moved across the country and bought a new home - the package appliances were GE - High end....should have been a deal breaker... fast forward 2 yrs later - they are living up to their reputation of JUNK....ovens don't work - refrigerator doors are warping (replaced once already), range top has troubles, . Currently planning to build our new home - there won't be a GE product in it!!
Kathleen Gunderson GE is junk because of being made in Mexico, with components from China. Whirlpool might possibly be made in USA still...check before buying. Tell salespeople why.
SAMSUNG STOVE DOES THE SAME THING!! I bought my Samsung stove for Thanks giving also and after almost 6 hours of cooking it burnt the outside and the inside was raw. We kept checking and checking the turkey and it was so raw from the inside we had to cook it for so long and the middle was still not cooked. They told me the same thing that I didn't know how to cook with this stove. I bought mine from Conns and they haven replaced it. Im going on a year this month.
Poor thing. I’ve had a number of GE ranges over the years and loved them all. Mine have mostly been higher end profile units. I just bought a ge gas double oven today Fingers crossed
I had similar issues with a GE Dryer. MANY GE technicians came to try to fix it. I had to get rid of it. It sounded like the space shuttle taking off. GE should be ashamed of themselves! I feel so bad that you had to endure this from GE. Contact your State Attorney's General Office. They may be able to assist. Good luck with your new oven!
Bless your heart. We are going thru the same thing. Lower burner never worked, broiler came on and burns everything on top, bottom is raw. Of course, Lowes is utterly useless, no need even calling them. GE involved now. Well see what they do. Sorry for the treatment you have received. No excuse for that.
6 years into it, same issue for this GE Cafe stove (Canadian version looks the same, slightly different model number CBC980ST4SS). "Its not baking" states my better half. Turn on Bake and the bake element goes red. But cakes fail and meats are not cooked underneath, or overdone on top and take much longer. Bake element tests fine and heats up initially. Manual states that the oven control swaps between bake and broil elements during bake cycles and these relays are interlocked so they cannot be on at the same time. Suspect an issue with the bake relay. New control board WB27M02959 doesn't seem available anymore, but I can also try to swap the relay (I'm an electrical technologist and handy with a soldering iron). But there are other issues. From day one, leveling the cook top leaves the baking grill unlevel by 1/4"! If I level for the oven, then the cooktop is not level. We live with that, just can't overfill the lasagna dish, or similar. We have also had the stove shut down due to overheating when entertaining lots of people (like 30), where we use this stove and another heavily. The gentle lady in this video states it... the concept and functions of this stove are attractive, but it just isn't built to last. Lastly, the glass cooktop isn't available anymore ... 6 years after purchase, there is no direct replacement if it were to break. Family of 5... we certainly don't just look at it! Yeah.. yeah... should have bought a Wolf or semi-industrial unit of some sort. Trouble is, my Samsung fridge is having issues... 2014 furnace just replaced the $1000 blower motor (warranty... yes!)... does anything out there last these days?
I just bought a new GE gas stainless slide-in range . I bought GE because I have never had any trouble with any of my GE kitchen products . The only reason I replaced my old Ge range was because it was white and I wanted the stainless but my old stove was a perfectly fine working range and looked brand new . I guess I will go buy a turkey and roast it in this oven see if it comes out as Fabulous as my old range . You should have gone for a gas range as that is what the professional Chefs prefer . I wish you the very best with your new range . I now pray that I will not have any problem with my new 2 week old GE range .
I bought a stove from sears and I couldn’t afford the GE cafe at the time. The sears tech ended up screwing up the gas valve. It was past two years so Sear reimbursed the full retail of the range event though I bought it on sale. I went and bought me my GE Cafe dual fuel $3400 range and absolutely loved it. Sorry you bought a lemon at Lowe’s. I also had a friend who bought a LEMON LG refrigerator there. I think if you bought it at Sears you would’ve had better luck with them standing behind you. I’ll be buying another GE Cafe when the Range in our new home dies, it’s a Frigidaire Professional and it’s Okay. By the way, how’s the Jennair doing?
You should not go by 1 opinion of a disgruntled person. Do your research and check out the many 5 star reviews for Café. I'm expecting mine in 3 weeks but I did extensive research and bought from a major appliance vendor.
That HAS to be the biggest crime ever: Keeping mama from cooking Thanksgiving dinner. One just doesn’t do that! Having to leave her expensive kitchen to cook elsewhere? Whatever happened to customer service? Lowe’s sucks where I live, too. Home Depot’s not great, but they’re much better than those Lowe-lifes at Lowe’s. I just bought my dad a new washer/dryer set through Sears. They were very good with installs, and service calls immediately after.
i have a GE cafe double oven. The bottom is electronic the top is manual. Electronic board has gone bad twice. I have had trouble with the top oven as well. My last service call was almost 1100.00. The top oven scorches the bottom while the top is barely cooked. The bottom oven cooked uneven as well unless you cook on convection bake, which works really well. I have a very expensive GE side by side refrigerator that ices up the fan preventing the refrigerator from circulating. I had to install a line heater to remedy that problem. I never minded spending money for quality, but GE is like most farmed out manufacturers that throw the big name reputation from yesteryear onto products made in cheap labor countries and still want the long dollar. I could have saved money on a cheaper name and probably been less frustrated. Not again! GE, you lost me!
I bought a GE high end range with air fry technology. I constantly began to have cakes fail. I never had that problem until I got this stove. And I bake a lot of cakes.
I had horrible cooking with my newer ge profile. We were looking at the Cafe ones.... not anymore. I will say, we have an old Jenn Air in one of our kitchens and it bakes beautiful meals - it isn't pretty... but it cooks perfectly.
I am just seeing this video. I have bought a GE Induction Stove and should be getting it 1/30/21. I pray I don’t experience the same problems. I checked this stove on consumer reports and it rated 87 on the dependability factor. My sister loves GE and talked me into going with GE. High star reviews and glowing reports cause me to think that you got a lemon and believe me all brands have them. I am disappointed that GE did not replace the stove. I understand your frustration and am a senior citizen too so get what you are saying about not being taken seriously. Kitchen is lovely. I am wondering how you like your new JenAir stove?

It’s fine for cookies, pizza, or roasting with a lid but any longer baking or roasting without a lid burns on top! It has a heating element on top that cooks almost like a broiler. Bad design.
I just ordered the same advantium microwave. I am looking at the ge cafe induction with hestan cue smart cooking. Does this model induction and have the hestan cue smart cooking with the bluetooth pans? Just looking for reviews on this 5k stove im thinking of getting. The model im considering is CHS950P3MD1. I will reconsider if yours is the same or similar model.
I despise convection for pies, bottom of pizza crusts, etc. A few things they are ok with. But give ME a top and bottom coil I can control separately. The little fan you can add in mine...only if it's FREE
i’m so done with Lowes. They hire people on cheap pay rates and those people really don’t know their job. they are not even trained. we ordered wood cabinets and they rep messed up my dimensions even after i had signed on every box.

i have a 15yr old ge profile slide in range...its never given me any problems..but this wk the oven stopped heating..everything else worked..i bought from a mom n pop local store..i called a local tech they recommended..he came out said just a calibration needed...i came home and it didnt work...he came back out a few days ltr and said it worked for him...i got home and again it didnt work...so i was and still am lkng for new induction range..was considering another profile..consumer reports does give it high marks..
Bottom line is any appliance can go wrong. It is about the warranty and where you bought it. Some appliance stores do not care about customer service or have no moral compass.
oh you're using the freestanding cook n oven, i only have the GE french door oven n that's perfectly fine. i don't own other product by GE so i don't know how they work

Same thing happened to me I bought same Ge cafe from Lowe's after few months oven stop heating up and it cause us more 500 dollars to repair .they told me it's pro quality and in sale it was 3500
@@sabinaarbab6586 if you use PSE&G for gas or electric for your home, they offer a service for appliances in your home to repair anything for a monthly fee. Very reasonable.
When I cook turkeys I put them in tied bag which helps keep the moisture in and probably helps keep the heat in the container and cooks faster. Maybe would than help? But would it Bake. We made cookies today on a black tray and regular metal ones. The black one cooks hotter so it burns the bottom of the cookies even though 4 other batches of cookies did not get burnt. So even colors of insides could effect the heat! We did our Dream kitchen too. And so far GE is in there and we hope that the ones we did get keep functioning good enough and yes they are pricey for that "result". But JennAire is owned by Whirlpool not GE for that person who thought that. Whirlpool owns many brands. GE is being purchased by an Asian company that will be interesting. Is Trump listening.
Ge is their own entity and the appliance division is actually owned by the Chinese company Haier. The Whirlpool corperation owns and builds Jenn-Air, KitchenAid, Maytag, and Amana.

GE quality has gone downhill and they are sitting at the bottom now. This is what happens when things are made overseas without that American quality. Cheap Junk.
My sister have same oven, didn't include an instruction manual and too confused to use. She baking in middle not cooked. She gave up and bought different brand. STAY WAY FROM GE.
I don't remember the brand but in 2008, we refurbished out kitchen. The new oven range didn't work. We complained to the store where we purchased it and they sent guys out who acknowledged it didn't work and they replaced parts but still no luck. We went through Thanksgiving with no oven. Christmas was coming. So, what I did was I went to the store on a busy Saturday morning and I found the owner. In the middle of his busy store, I had a nice scream at him so EVERYONE in the store could hear that he had a very dissatisfied customer and that nobody should trust that store. Amazingly so, we had a new range in our kitchen pretty darn fast after that. You need to hurt them in their pocketbook by causing their sales to reduce.
Well if there is any comfort G.E will be focusing on health care and air space products from now on. They sold their other brand name products to china and Taiwan. Dr visits? beware we may not be making it to 80 anymore 😂😅😂😅

You should of contacted corporate. I did and got results if u buy extended warranty and have had multiple repairs..they can buy back your item.

i have a 15yr old ge profile slide in range...its never given me any problems..but this wk the oven stopped heating..everything else worked..i bought from a mom n pop local store..i called a local tech they recommended..he came out said just a calibration needed...i came home and it didnt work...he came back out a few days ltr and said it worked for him...i got home and again it didnt work...so i was and still am lkng for new induction range..was considering another profile..consumer reports does give it high marks..
Now. Currently the Café has a 20 yr predicted lifespan. The current reviews are stellar.
I will never buy any GE appliances again! NEVER! MY stove was a waste of money. Buyer beware!
Bottom line is any appliance can go wrong. It is about the warranty and where you bought it. Some appliance stores do not care about customer service or have no moral compass.

oh you're using the freestanding cook n oven, i only have the GE french door oven n that's perfectly fine. i don't own other product by GE so i don't know how they work
My GE JS760SL1SS oven quit working after using the self clean mode. We bought it several years back during a Black Friday sale.

Same thing happened to me I bought same Ge cafe from Lowe's after few months oven stop heating up and it cause us more 500 dollars to repair .they told me it's pro quality and in sale it was 3500

When I cook turkeys I put them in tied bag which helps keep the moisture in and probably helps keep the heat in the container and cooks faster. Maybe would than help? But would it Bake. We made cookies today on a black tray and regular metal ones. The black one cooks hotter so it burns the bottom of the cookies even though 4 other batches of cookies did not get burnt. So even colors of insides could effect the heat! We did our Dream kitchen too. And so far GE is in there and we hope that the ones we did get keep functioning good enough and yes they are pricey for that "result". But JennAire is owned by Whirlpool not GE for that person who thought that. Whirlpool owns many brands. GE is being purchased by an Asian company that will be interesting. Is Trump listening.
Ge is their own entity and the appliance division is actually owned by the Chinese company Haier. The Whirlpool corperation owns and builds Jenn-Air, KitchenAid, Maytag, and Amana.

My sister have same oven, didn't include an instruction manual and too confused to use. She baking in middle not cooked. She gave up and bought different brand. STAY WAY FROM GE.
I don't remember the brand but in 2008, we refurbished out kitchen. The new oven range didn't work. We complained to the store where we purchased it and they sent guys out who acknowledged it didn't work and they replaced parts but still no luck. We went through Thanksgiving with no oven. Christmas was coming. So, what I did was I went to the store on a busy Saturday morning and I found the owner. In the middle of his busy store, I had a nice scream at him so EVERYONE in the store could hear that he had a very dissatisfied customer and that nobody should trust that store. Amazingly so, we had a new range in our kitchen pretty darn fast after that. You need to hurt them in their pocketbook by causing their sales to reduce.
If you are a large unattractive man and do this, you will find yourself in jail. Its a shame people are treated this way.
