Great one guys and thanks for pulling this together Ben. The date of this race and the rain is debatable for classic DH, some would say we shouldn’t run from that. The real issue is certain features if it’s going to be run in the rain: this is known as a choice and trying for cake and eat it is lunacy. Oh, and building big soft berms just before the race is a recipe for disaster: soooo predictable and, frankly amateur 😊
Feels like every round is wetter and rougher than the last. Aside from World Champs, has there even been a dry World Cup yet this season? Absolutely wild year.
Maybe if they don't, they will develop a tire that digs into this slop. Even if they run the current mud tires, the engineers can come up with a better mud tire.
So next year’s elite races will potentially have a similar format to today in terms of quali’s and thirty make finals. How far down are UCI points set to be awarded for World Cup qualifiers and what value will they have vs other ‘point scoring’ results?
It's such a shame that Rob and RedBull aren't doing things anymore because the race tomorrow, these conditions, you already know the commentary would be amazing, exciting and would get you hyped. Shame that tomorrows broadcast will be shit with boring commentary
Tomorrow I have a race and ... some bad areas. I will try to surveive but not as hard as this one, that are awfull conditions. Mine are a bit wet, some roots and rocks but it is ...I can call XC or all mountain ... more less except for two zones. I will ride a Element 70, a 26" wheel bicycle because the narrows paths, the 29er and even 27.5 with long handlebars are a nightmare is 3-4 sections, and the 26 is a nightmare in 2-3. So ... I have made my choice, the SB5T no, the Yo Eddie no, the element yes🙄 I´m still thinking but the long handlebars ...
@@dkone1746 I think that's his point. Everybody also gets pist if f1 gets cancelled bcs of rain. They're the best of the best but can't ride in rain? I get that with tooo much rain it should get cancelled but now it gets cancelled too early in my opinion
races should ne delayed when too much rain occour i mean, its ugly for the fans, its ugly fof the riders, its ugly for the doctors... its ugly for everyone
Even when the weather kills any hope Ben delivers!
That dancing at 7:58 was a stunningly pretty bit of bicycle riding
Ben is such a gem. Gold content no matter the conditions!
Tomorrow will be very entertaning! Lets hope it will be an exiting one!

Joe Barnes should have had a wild card for this one!
Joe and Ferg man would have had a field day. standard conditions for the hazzard racing lads
That would've been unfair to the rest of the field
Joe Barnes wins this race by over ten seconds
love the ghost footage!

Ironically I think Fort Bill was dry. Couldn't have it any later in the year though or the midges would've eaten a racer or two.
@kingflynxi9420 good weather in May is Scotlands best kept secret
Looking forward to a Leogang World Champs style race from a few years ago. Or just Les Gets this year. Or Loudenville last year.
Are we talking like proper Vallnord steep or just regular steep at Loudenville?
cathro, you are such a funny guy😂
1.1.8 alot time 🤣🤣🤣. ❤ Ben's stuff always
"Beyond the loam" 😮
Man hope everyone stays safe! guess the mud takes a bit of impact from the offs
pretty bad last year as i recall, maybe change the time of year for this particular race.

Bernard seemed to be able to keep the high line on the steep bit?

Are they going to change the race season?

Cool
5:21 pudding!
I think most of us would be up to watch Ben just say stuff.
4:44 if you're not in the rut: your run is cut, the door is shut, you're on your butt
poet.
If Henry had as much enthusiasm as Ben, I think Henry would have a meltdown.
I suppose to make this video a bit more 'normal', someone could have thrown an empty beer bottle at Ben?
That Ghosty Ben seems like a bit of a shady character if you ask me
The old saying - rain rain go away come again some other day would be welcomed.
太炸裂了
Any riders still on clip pedals?
Loic was fastest in quali by 3 seconds to Amaury. Next one was a boy who the son doesnt know
So who's gonna pull a Danny Hart on race day an win by a crazy margin ?
Sam Hill would go good here
les get all over again
It's downhill MTB not F1 on a sterile track. The pros should be challenged at times
F1 will still cancel a session or race with too much rain.

But hey i'm just a keyboard warrior afterall
@@dkone1746because they’re doing 180mph ALL TOGETHER 🙄
Nobody is asking for a sterile track.
lol fatbike tires might work

ben is the only decent thing about pink bike at this point, sites fell off
True i haven't been to that site in 2 years. Just reading the comments confirms you are correct
