  • Ring Racers, the sequel to SRB2Kart, is here, and I've already blitzed through nearly the entire singleplayer portion of the game in less than a week. Yes, there's enough content in the game to make Masahiro Sakurai blush. That didn't stop me.
One of the few things I have left to do is gather medals from Time Attack and Prison Break. That's how this video came to be. My first attempt at Metropolis Zone resulted in me earning a platinum medal, which is the equivalent of beating the secret staff ghost in a Mario Kart game.
I want to make it clear that I did so completely by accident. I'm not any sort of diehard racing game fanatic who restarts the same time trial hundreds of times to get the perfect run. This only happened because Gunla's top-ranking staff ghost made a critical mistake during his run, and I didn't.
I figured I might as well roll with it and submit this replay to speedrun.com, whose Ring Racers leaderboard opened about ten hours before this video's upload time. Even though no one else has submitted a time for Metropolis as of this writing, I'm not going to claim I hold (or even held) a world record. I know there's someone out there who's done far better than me and just hasn't shared it yet.

    hey man, cool driving!
Where did you get the tails model from? I've found a few model packs but they're always non-sonic characters...

@@RetroAussieBloke iirc you have to go into video options, then to advanced settings, and set the renderer to legacy GL
