I have to say the visit to 64 Audio is something special, because you get to see a real perspective from a real person, with nothing being prepared before the filming, no marketing parasite put his little hands on the video, its not made to show off or to advertise, its just the real fking experience, you actually get to see whats in there, nothing was altered to seem like something else. loved the video man, you're awsesome!
believe me, when he asked to come in they googled who he was and new exactly how many views his youtube channnel averages. they aren't stupid and are very social media savy.
Thanks for providing us a tour of the 64 Audio facilities. It’s great to see how much work is put into making each set. I’m currently saving up for my own pair.
i have custom fitted earplugs for work like this and after awhile you don't even know you have them in your ears, well worth the money and good for taking to concerts.
Myself and 2 of my band members are in the market for making the transition to IEM. I have seen many videos about 64 audio monitors and most people seem to like them. Being new to this, I reached out twice via e-mail to 64 audio looking for some help and have not received any response as of yet. One thing that's important to me when making a sizable purchase is the quality of the companies customer service. Thus far I am not very impressed with 64 audio in this regard and I am going to look elsewhere. I also read that Alclair makes a great in-ear monitor so I'll check them out.
@@nathandrums0 I ended up speaking to the manager at 64 audio and he was very apologetic for not getting back to me sooner. I did purchase a rather expensive set of in-ears from them and they are simply amazing. I could not be happier with the fit and sound quality. I purchased a 12 driver set.
@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy awesome dude. I went with alclair’s $500 tour triple drivers. Best IEMs I’ve personally used, hands down. Great customer service too. Glad it worked out for ya! Custom IEMs are a game changer.
Hey Ryan! Love the video. What A series did you go with? I own a pair of the A6's. And they sound flipping amazing. Best in-ear monitors/headphones I've ever had. I use mine a lot for lisentning to music, watching movies, editing videos, traveling and drumming. I plan to visit the 64 Audio facility in the future. Now I know what it's like there. Thanks for sharing this video.
hey man this video was awesome! Did it really only take 2 weeks for yours to be made? I just ordered mine it says 5 to 6 weeks, I think I'll explode if I have to wait that long:D
It's not that one is better than the other, as they both offer top of the line iems. They just have different sound signatures, however if you are quick the ue's are on sale right now. It also depends on budget and what you need them for, e.g. if looking for more bass or more of a flat response as both have models that cater for those. My advice would be to first identify the sound signature you are looking for and your budget then read reviews on the models that fit on websites like headfi etc.
What model is best suited for a lead vocalist ? Years ago I had a set made from alien earz and the vocals sounded distant... Didnt like them at all.. I need vocal up front and center
That's one option. I prefer an on stage splitter. All onstage cabling are y split. One to your desk the other to an on stage monitor mixer. Monitor mixes are linked to individual channels, which are linked to individual trsnsmitters. This gives each person their own individual mix.
The price steered me away to be honest. 500-3000 dollars form what I saw just looking though the different models. No customization. Just the base colors and options. If I could ever afford these. I hope they are worth it.
Sorry if this is a newb question, but what's the box the earphones were connected through when you were listening to music (the box with the red lights on it)?
+Hanza Ahmed no, it's a DAC+Amp combo. DAC is a digital to analog converter (converts 1s and 0s to analog sine waves) and the amplifier boosts the output signal to voltages capable of driving the headphones. Every phone, tablet, pc etc has a DAC and Amp, but htey are generally lower quality and thus can be bypassed, like in this case.
I bought my IEMs from what was 1964 Ears at the time in July, 2015. I got the Qi models. I'm not sure which model that most closely matches now. I use them when tracking drums. I'd never use them when mixing, not even for referencing. My earbuds sound better. It's possible that over the last couple of years the drivers have improved. You can't beat them for comfort and isolation. If they were lost or stolen I'd buy them again.
I'm no musician but I do write software for a living, meaning that I listen to music some 12 hours a day. Who here can can confirm or deny the comfort level for them personally when worn for 8+ hours straight?
I get my in-ears in Taobao, which designed only for me. And each side has five movable iron units. I also redesigned the skin of each earphone and leave my name on them. The whole project cost about only 750 dollars and the quality is very amazing, even better than UE. There are a lot of stores on Taobao or Alibaba, next time, maybe you can try buying one pair online and make a video about it.
I don't think I am ever going to get my own custom IEMs. I've been loving My SE215 for a long time but they are definitely nowhere near a custom solution.
That is called ear impressions. I don't really like the feeling of that step at all(sticking things into your ear and all that, and potentially damaging your ear due to unprofessionalism. I mean, it probably does not happens a lot, but you only have one set of ears for your entire life to waste and that's it.) so I never had my CIEM ever. Plus for all those applications that you use CIEM, you are either always having outside interference that you lose out on extreme highs and lows of the audio, or when you are in complete quiet situations, you could just use a better set of full size over ear headpone for quiet environment, or a pair of studio monitor when you can open up volume. So I figured out that the diminishing return is too big on CIEM that I'd just go with decent universal fits.I'd just use ER4s for on stage anyway. They isolate like you're deaf. When on the road I just slap on my JH universals. I swap to SM64 from earsonics time to time. Then at home I use my Beyer T5p 2nd gen and Denon D7000s when late night. All other time monitors are the best.

I wouldn't say that everything you said was true because we'll never really know.
Same here. I'm going to take the plunge and have a set of custom fit IAMs made, sadly I'm in the UK, any recommendations?
I live in Malta and I got mine through 64 Audio. Couldn't be happier.

I 100% agree about RAM being one of the greatest sounding records ever. It's near perfect.
New Fluff video on a Monday morning. Life is Good.
Also, nice Ghost shirt.
I had the same experience with my A18Ts, such a perfect fit and amazing sound quality!
Out of curiosity, why did you choose the a18ts instead of the a12t?
I bought a pair or V6's back in 2013. they have ambient ports. still in love with them.
i have custom fitted earplugs for work like this and after awhile you don't even know you have them in your ears, well worth the money and good for taking to concerts.
I just got my impressions today! Can't wait to get my A12Ts!
Great stuff man!
Can’t wait to buy a pair of 64 iems.
Not able to go all out with 12 or more drivers, but the A6 will definitely suit me well!

I may have missed it but how many drivers are in the ones you purchased for this video?

How would one get the audio information from the sound desk to the IEM's? Through a wireless transmitter hooked to a stereo out aux from the desk?
That's one option. I prefer an on stage splitter. All onstage cabling are y split. One to your desk the other to an on stage monitor mixer. Monitor mixes are linked to individual channels, which are linked to individual trsnsmitters. This gives each person their own individual mix.

Ryan Bruce, between you and Pete Thorn... I need a bigger bank account.

IEM for mixing? I travel. Which ones? First hand experience only please.
WideOpenChange I wouldn’t recommend the Shure SE215’s. They are slighted bass boosted and do not respond well at all with highs.
ooooh thats what that place does. you were really close to my house.
pretty cool!
