Is there a reason you didn't cut off the blossom end of the cucumbers?
I've seen it done both ways. I just feel that they stay firmer with it on. Just personal preference though.
@SurviveBetterTogether do they ? How is the crunch to you
So these are fermented pickles. How long do they keep in the pantry? And do you refrigerate after opening? Assuming so.ive never done fermented sometimes i see recipes that are more water and salt. But i know people used to have pickle barrels and they sat out and never killed anyone. I also want to make sour pickles.
These are just regular dill pickles, not fermented. Once opened, they last several weeks in the fridge.
Hi, I have dill seeds, how much should I use?
I typically use 1-3 sprigs. Depending on the size of your dill heads. Using extra won't hurt, I think it makes it super yummy😊
Does adding the sugar make it a bit sweet? I like traditional dill pickle flavor that’s not sweet. So I’m wondering if the sugar sweetens the flavor?
Great question. They do not seem sweet to me. They taste exactly like old fashioned pickles.
I find that adding sugar makes the pickles significantly less savory. I leave it out. I do not recommend sugar!!!
I don’t understand why you use water! Why not all vinegar?
Great question. Vinegar is needed as it is part of the fermenting process. Without it, you would not have the flavor that pickles are famous for nor the crunch.
All vinegar could result in a solution that is too acidic and lead to overly sour pickles. That being said I'm sure there are those folks out there that do use 100% vinegar
My pickles end up being soggy in the brine😖
Sorry to hear that. I wonder if something got skipped. I've been using this one for years and never had that problem. We're the cucs super fresh or maybe a few days old, that would make a difference.

Few days old and not all of them were pickling cucumbers.
That may have something to do with it. Sorry you had that experience. Hopefully you can try again.
4 cups of water and 4 cups of pickling salt ? are you insane ?
I think she said a fourth. Like 1/4 cup
I don't understand how wrote your ingredients down, i don't know whats what
They are listed in the description for you.
