Indeed it is! I always wanted one of those older Electribe models with tubes, but never had one... I did own the ER-1 (that was my first groovebox), but it felt kinda limited.
Thanks mate! I also have both versions, and I've kept the stock firmware on my blue one and "hacktribed" the red one. What you get is basically Electribe Sampler with all the filters from synth version, a few extra effects, synths, and some extra groove and scale templates. There may be extra features in future. If you do decide to attempt this, I highly recommend you to backup your existing patterns and samples, because hacking it will mess them all up. I also recommend you to hack the Electribe Sampler instead of Electribe Synth, because Hacktribe does not have multisampled instruments/samples that can be found on the synth version.
