I have my go-to thriller authors but I have been thinking that I want to branch out. This is perfect! And I love distinguishing between light, medium, and dark. I prefer light to medium.
Great list! I’ve read several you mentioned and agree wholeheartedly. There were some I haven’t read and have added to my gigantic TBR list. One of my recent favorites is The Last Word by Taylor Adams. That was such a good time until my dogs barked while I was in an intense scene which made me scream and my book went flying across the room. I think they do that on purpose. 😂
Big fan of your videos, but not really a thriller reader. My go-to genre is mystery/suspense, so I was really curious to see your take on “The lighter side” And since I’ve read most of these, I’d say you were right on! One of my favorites in this category is Richard Osman. The 4 book series is fantastic! Can’t wait for you to pick them up ❤
Vera Wong is a great fun one with heart! I also like the Dial A for Aunties series when I have read all the Finlay Donovan and can't get enough these felt like the same vibe to me. 😊
Yes! Thank you thank you! Exactly what I'm looking for! Light for me is little to no graphic violence, gore, and language. I love Kate White! Thanks for recommending her. I'm reading her newly released novel, The Last Time She Saw Him, because I loved The Sixes. Again thanks for the lighter recs like White, Greer, and Pekkanen. The Wife Between Us and Anonymous Girl was so good! I like Alafair with Mary H. Clark but I'll check her out now.
Definitely like both type of thrillers. That is why I have gotten so many good book ideas from you. I have read several of these and really enjoyed them. Can't wait to see the dark and messed up list lol. I did get some new ones from this list added to my TBR. Great video!
I'm in a deep audiobook groove lately too. I listened to The Mystery Guest and really enjoyed it. There's a novella coming in the fall - The Mistletoe Mystery. I'm also all for more books in this series!
Thrillers and mysteries are just my 'happy place!' The series i have been enjoying recently is the 'Three Dahlias' books by Katy Watson. The first two are out at the moment and then another two are due out this year (in the UK anyway) Also reading and loving Riley Sager's backlist on your recommendation.
I'm not a big thriller reader, but you make everything sound so good! I don't know if I'm more of a suspense reader (not sure of the distinction), but this year, I enjoyed The Family Upstairs/Remains by Lisa Jewell and The Plot by Jean Hanff Korelitz. I think I gravitate more towards the character driven books, which is what I liked about them.
Alafair Burke YES! Riley Sager YES! Ruth Ware YES! And the Finlay Donovan series is great--even though I only read book 1 I bought the rest and look forward to reading them!! Love the Ellie Hatcher series, I'm up to book 4.
Love Benjamin Stevenson’s books! So many of these are on my want to read lists. I’m definitely a light thriller reader so this is right up my alley. ❤️
❤ Great list. I just finished the latest Ruth Ware, One Perfect Couple and it was great. It is couples competing in a reality TV show who get stuck together on a remote island and trouble ensues…excellent! I also just started the new Riley Sagar, If Something Happens to Me….so far so good. And Jamie Lynn Hendricks latest is this month, A Lovely Lie (haven’t started it yet).
I'm currently Reading Paid and Loving Eyes: A Lovejoy Novel of Suspense by Johnathan Gash. since it had been years since i last read a lvoejoy novel i forget they are narrated from his point of view.
I have recommended a few books to my aunt that I thought were “light” that she was horrified of 😂😂. I am definitely a dark reader. You need to get on the Thursday Murder Club train. I would read as oppose to listen. I had a hard time figuring out what was going on while listening.
Great video .Once again you have added to my TBR. Enjoyed writing style Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone. Whats not to love about swimming nude in the Thames😅
The Maid was very disappointing for me. The writing and story was too simplistic, and even though I love thriller and horror in general, there’s a very particular violent scene in this book that still haunts my dreams to this day. I guess it’s because it’s very unexpected in a book like this.

Excellent video. I am looking for the medium and darker thrillers. Cannot wait to see those video’s.

Did you read No Exit by Taylor Adams? Great book
Saw movie recently .
@@erinmaggio5620 No yet, but it’s high on my TBR list. I’ve heard it’s really good.
Yes top one book I read last year. Saw movie this year.
Loved this! Thanks for sharing. Mary Kubica is my ‘light’ reads. Can’t wait for the dark and darker videos 😊
I like Sally Hepworth and Shari Lapena for my light thrillers. They are so addictive.
Those 2 are also my favorites. In addition Lisa Jewell and Mary Kubika
I agree with Sally Hepworth. I am surprised that our Audrey did not mention her.
I like both Sally and Shari
I totally agree
100 % agreed

Yes! Thursday Murder Club series is fantastic.
Yes! I liked the second better than the first. I hope they keep getting better as I go!❤

I would love a video on the most intense most psychological thrillers that u love
I just finished Listen to the Lie, Tintera upon your recommendation. It was fantastic! Do you recommend any other of her books?
My fav thriller is Savages by the late great Shirley Conran, RIP. Lace with claws. Enjoy!
I love The Maid and The Mystery Guest. I hope there are more. I exclusively listen to audiobooks.
I'm in a deep audiobook groove lately too. I listened to The Mystery Guest and really enjoyed it. There's a novella coming in the fall - The Mistletoe Mystery. I'm also all for more books in this series!
I will be rewatching this to add more of your recommendations to my TBR which grows daily!

Currently reading What Happened to Nina? by McTiernan and am hooked!

I am so enjoying your recommendations! Thank u!
Okay. I'm going to ask. How do you have time to read ALL of these books? Impressed!
Horowitz for the win!! I just finished his most recent Hawthorne book and it was terrific. Great video, thank you. xx
Love Taylor Adam's. Love No Exit, Last Word, and Hairpin Bridge. Want to read Eyeshot.
We’ve just had the bbc production of the Marlowe Murder Club here on tv in Australia. Very true to the book, great adaptation.
I love Ruth Ware's books. I'm looking forward to reading this one.
Alafair Burke YES! Riley Sager YES! Ruth Ware YES! And the Finlay Donovan series is great--even though I only read book 1 I bought the rest and look forward to reading them!!
Love the Ellie Hatcher series, I'm up to book 4.
We have such similar taste!!! Yes!! Yes!! Yes!!!
Agree with so many of these rec's - Looking forward to more ♥ Have the best time at ThrillerFest - You may be there already xx
Love your content! Thanks for your hard work in getting us recommendations ❤.
Thank you so much for watching and for being here 💕
I just wish there was a good cosy series that didn't insult my intelligence. Any recommendations appreciated.
Agatha Christie’s Poirot and Marple, Agatha Raisin…
Love Benjamin Stevenson’s books! So many of these are on my want to read lists. I’m definitely a light thriller reader so this is right up my alley. ❤️
Good recommendations. I also recommend Mother Daughter Murder Night and Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice for Murderers for light mystery.

The Maid was one of my favorites last year….but please don’t tell people it’s a thriller!! It’s a mystery.
Megan Miranda books tend to feel cozy to me.

I just fot the better sister from my local library yesterday. Saturday, Australia time
