This would be an awesome series especially if they would translate the nuances and commentaries that Howard included in the short stories too, in addition to the Lovecraftian elements from the books and the brutality and depth of Conan.
Since they can’t get him right in live action I agree. I love the Conan movies but they aren’t very similar to REH’s character at all. The Momoa performance was really close but the movie was still using the “you killed my father” bs that the Ahnuld movie did. A completely unnecessary and reductive trope for a really cool character.
I think the simplicity of this is its strength. Conan looks like Conan. Square cut black mane. The face and the body are not too detailed. This could be any artistic interpretation of him (maybe not Barry Smith but, hey...) from Frazetta to Val Semeiks to Cary Nord. It's Howard-esque for sure. The sound effects and the minimalist drum music are all top notch. Love those growls and clanging swords! The direction and the choreography are awesome. I would love a whole series of this.
Oh Mannnnnnnn this looks great! I'm 65 years old, a Conan enthusiast since 1970 (10, 11 years old). This animation brought back all the raw excitement that thrilled me back then. Bravo Maestro!👊🏾

This is the coolest shit ever. I've seen much worse fights in big budget cartoons. This is so dynamic and snappy. I love that the final monster has so much personality in his movements; at moments you can tell he's getting pissed at Conan playing defensively, which leads to his loss when he rushes in finally. You deserve all the praise!
A great attempt! I can't understand why the fantasy genre can't create a fast and agile barbarian. This is the closet thing I've seen to Conan's speed and cat-like reflexes.
