This song is so underrated and barely gets any mention. It's very beautifully written and the grooves kick in so perfectly when they do. And well played sir!
5:47 always gets me when I listen to this song, impressive to see someone actually play it because lord knows Periphery isn't gonna play this one live any time soon. If they play any 15 minute song it's gonna be reptile because it's a crowd pleaser. It's all good tho, Racecar is a gem regardless
@@doozythedoctor It may not be super polished like their latest stuff but I think it's my favorite. I just can't seem to get it out of my head the past couple days
Ryan Sadauskis jake was here nearly from the start hes the only one with misha in PI think he came a bit later in it we see him in the clip of jetpack was yes
@@nickolasthompson431 mine too. It's been years but I still can't stop listening to this. This whole album is the best work of periphery in my opinion. Totally unique.
Dude, you're cover is awesome. I've learned a lot of how to play this song over the past few weeks from watching...however I need some help. Could you shed some light on the tabs or how to play the tappy part at 11:52? The tabs just don't seem to make sense to me and I really want to play it haha.
This is by far the best cover I've seen. Nice job dude. I attempted just a section of it years ago and you even did that part far better than me. The notes seemed correct for 99% of the video - did you have tabs for this that you'd be able to share?
I need to figure out what your right hand is doing on the solo. I play kinda legato because my picking hand isn't great. Looks like you're doing some good hybrid picking and hammers/pulls. That would be better for me. I need to try to learn this solo but I don't have a 7 string.
You should either turn your guitar volume up, or change your tone cuz it's hard to tell which part is you and which part is the recording, especially during the solo. Great playing tho

It's one of the most loved periphery songs actually. I don't think it's underrated. People have always thought it was their best
12:28 is the most slept on part of the song
this is one of my fav sections
the whole song is slept on super hard
The tone, the playing, it's all there! That was my dream tone!
9:28 One of the best thing Misha has written.
d j e n t
agreed.
The groove is good but it isn't very impressive, the other parts are definitely insaaane though
mishas made much much better grooves imo
This is the one that will not leave my brain no matter how long ago I last listened to this song

The fact that I saw them perform this live in 2010 is something I underappreciated for years. Just how lucky I was....

@@judahatkins6069 it’s super catchy and way ahead of its time. It’s a solid song I can listen without getting bored and it’s a very long song
@@DarkVileScream I know right, it might actually be my favorite song, and I hope Periphery does more like it some day.
This has always been my fav song by them. This shit is and will always be next level
Dude that solo @10:19 was so sweet. Nice cover, straight through the end.
at last, someone who covers this masterpiece the way it deserves.
WOW! Bravo for learning this entire song, including Jeff Loomis's facemelter, and playing everything so cleanly. Very, very well done.
4:25 - 6:30 always gives me chills in this song
I love the overlay when he says “ LOST IN A WAKING DREAM “ 4:53 jeez love that part bad
the sound, it makes me scream..........
The part after the 11th minute drives me crazy! Cool thing!!!
That's like THE part of the song that I think drives everybody crazy.
You seriously have the best solo out of all the covers I've seen
You know the song is a masterpiece when like 20 people comment different time stamps for their favorite part
1:45 how the hell can a human being even think to write a riff like that
Misha Mansoor.... he's a god
5:50 same reflexion ^^
Jake Bowen wrote most of Racecar.
+F34R I thought Jake and Mark weren't in PI? I thought they came into the picture in PII?
Ryan Sadauskis jake was here nearly from the start hes the only one with misha in PI think he came a bit later in it we see him in the clip of jetpack was yes
Your sick dude! 🤘🏻🔥🔥🔥🤘🏻
1:02 that section is dark.
My favourite part of the song... Hell one of my favourite of periphery
Arguably my favorite part of the entire song

You sir, have ascended into interdimensional levels. Holy shit this was phenomenal.
The finger picking on the upward whole note passage at 10:45 is so fucking sick
holy fucking shit man....you did this legendary tune some justice!
Phenomenal! Please for the love of god write up a transcription for that Jeff Loomis solo!!!
Pinpoint accuracy. Well bloody played mon frere
god that guitar is clean
Epic shit bro. I'll get there one day. But for now, I watch in awe.
This is absolutely awesome!!! You did a great job, man!
best cover on youtube
Best cover! All the tone was phenomenal!
OMFG, this cover is the best version.
You are amazing bro!!! Very very very nice job!
Super impressed, this guy might as well be Jake Bowen unless... are you Jake Bowen? Haha, awesome job!
Ahhh Man ! Clean AF ! AWESOME AF! God Damn it :))
You're amazing dude 😱
Great job man!
AMAZING JOB!!!
great job, dude! awesome.
7:12 I was waiting to see if he’d play this part. I don’t think it’s humanly possible lol.
There's a live video from 2011 with Jake playing it directly in front of the camera. You can see how he plays the entire song + some of Misha's parts
How would it not be possible? It's just a few clean guitars parts layered
Amazing!!!
very impressive,
still learning guitar, i hope i can cover this song too someday!
but my progress very slow 😅
Very technical i like it
Mark Holocomb is my mancrush monday. These riffs are just too tasty.
mark joined in Periphery II tho
Mark wasn't in the band yet
the 11:52 part was so sick holy fuck
great cover. Would've been perfect if he also did the clean parts
fucking props man! was epic!
Fucking killed it man.

A sweet sweet guitar ya got there. Oh yeah, and the playing isn't so bad. 🤪

look it up on songsterr.com
oh wow this cover is amazing, I don't suppose you could share those Syx presets for the axe FX gang?

You don't need a 7-string, this guy played it using a 6-string, E standard: ua-cam.com/video/JciGVjyA_iY/v-deo.html
11:51 o.o
How did the tuning?
"Tosin tuning": Bb Db Ab Db Gb Bb Eb
(So like, good old 6-string drop-D tuning, but then down a semitone and add a low Bb string)
How is your tone so perfeccccccttttt
he's using basically the same preset on the same amp they used in the recording, so it's bound to sound pretty similar
Guitar tune? do you have the tab?
Ayo my guy ima need tabs
UG has a broken link for the pro interactive tab to this song
Didn't mean to sound rude but I deadass love this song and I gotta learn it
Goals tho
How much did that guitar cost?
Everything
best
sorry i ruined the 666th like but cover spot on worth it
bruh, do froggin bullfish

Joep Kanters I can hear it perfectly! He's just in really good time, his tone is the raw gain sound the crispy wave the recording is more clean
Misha, Mark, Jake, and Nolly disliked this video.
No way.
what tuning?
"Tosin tuning": Bb Db Ab Db Gb Bb Eb
