    This really is the secret to Morgan's distinct style. He often sounds like he messing up or "losing it", but it's always in time. He knows where to land every time.

    I love everything about this video! Grate exercise from one of the greatest: Morgan Ågren. Notice he wasn’t out of breath after that last exercise! Beautiful drum kit! Morgan makes them sing. Love that dark snare to the left. Time to make these multi talented musicians the stars and role-models they deserve! The kids deserve positive role-models! Not “Big Brother”!

      Yep. 4 bars, not 8. Each bar is counted 1e+a 2e+a 3e+a 4e+a, repeat that three more times, crash at start of another four bars, crash, etc.

    Three bass drums. Is one tuned lower than the other?

    • @ArtOfDrumming
      @ArtOfDrumming  3 роки тому +2

      The three bass drums are 24“, 22“ and 18“. While the 18“ and 24“ drums have a closed reso head and are tuned quite open, the 22“ drum has a port hole and Morgan used some muffling inside the drum. All three sound great but give him a great variety of sounds to choose from. Sometimes he also places his foot on two pedals at the same time and plays two bass drums simultaneously, combining the attack of the 22“ with the open tone of the 24“ kick drum for example.👍🏻

    • @josecabildo1207
      @josecabildo1207 2 роки тому

      Yes his concept its not about metal drumming, its about having diferent sounds, like a very open jazz bass drum, or a fat r y b bass drum, or even having the bonham “mamut walking bass drum “, he is very known for the fredrick thing by almost everybody, but his vibe is not that , he is al about crazy avantgard drumming and a lot of melodic range

  • @mustafasheet9234

    People keep mentioning the likes of John Bonham and Ginger Baker, but in my opinion, the greatest drummer that ever lived was Dinky Flange. Now there was a drummer ! Sadly, Dinky died in a freak accident whilst vacuum cleaning back in August of 1979.
