Yes yes please. I am trying to figure out about this robot if my cat (5.8kg) will use it. And Thanks for this cleaning video too, super clear of all steps ❤
I have these as well. The cylinder will stay much cleaner if you program it to delay 20min before it cleans. Everything dries a little and virtually no smearing etc.
I learned more about the cat box in general from watching your video then I did with the manuals. I thank you very much for your video. It’s wonderful.
Just an update: mine was delivered today and it included that plastic piece used in the “dump litter” cycle. I had no idea what it was for. So thank you for including that in your video.
Wow thanks a lot for your video! I have been using this litterbox for one year and until today was finding it not easy to clean and just discovered HOW to disassemble it. You made my day! :)
Make sure you watch my updated video as well! I actually just ordered some new liners from Petkit so I'll do a new video when I replace them so keep an eye out for that too!!! :)
Hey, idk if you have already found this out or not, but you can also take out the bottom cloth section that is inside the tumbler when you clean the whole thing. Water and tiny particles of poop/litter can get trapped underneath there. Hopefully this helps!
I have one and reading the comments, I can relate with washing in the bathroom when there's no option to wash them outside. It took me about an hour to deep clean the whole thing. I dried them by wiping with microfiber cloth while the litter insert/mat inside is dried using a hairdryer 😀
Thank you for your detailed videos on this robot! I have had the Petsafe Simply Clean (it has a bowl that spins) for a couple years but is very noisy now and asking for a replacement. This Puramax seems the ideal next robot. I cannot really go back to scooping all the time! Greetings from Spain.
it seems you live in a humid environment. how do you stop insects from burrowing in the waste basket? that's my biggest problem! they were some tylenol maggot/flies that festered in there and grew and multiplied. how do you control that especially in summer months? thank you so much for you video
I think occasionally I had flies. The key is to empty the trash bin as soon as it says its full. Otherwise the lid doesn’t close properly and keep its sealed.
Thank you, it was very helpful, mine arrived today. But I must say I am shocked about the complexity of cleaning. My old normal catlitter is so much easier to clean, I bought this one because I am often very sick and thought this would help me save energy and time when cleaning the litter, but the big clean is much more work with heavier parts wich I won't be able to lift and clean at bad times.
I found that it was not so bad as I thought, the parts are not so heavy because the motor part stays on the floor when cleaning and that is the heaviest part. So When I am ok I can clean and maybe even on bad days with pauses taken.!
Hi Im not sure if i missed it but how often do u deep clean your puramax? And why didn’t you remove the litter mat from the barrel? Wouldn’t the water can get beneath the mat?
Hi! I do this deep clean every 5-6 weeks! The litter mat is attached and sealed to the barrel (to prevent cat urine or anything else leaking through when in regular use) it’s not detachable, and I have never experienced any leakage when in use, or when cleaning. Hope that helps!
I looked for this video exactly because of the litter mat - didn't know how to handle it. But I've noticed it has a little tip (in the middle or the right side for me) that allows you to take it out and wash it separately. And yes, it doesn't leak at all :) Hope this helps!
How on earth do you get it back in afterwards and ensure it is sealed properly?! I think there are two generations of this model. Mine does not come out.
@@SamanthaRoseKing oh, the outer edge of this membrane is flexible, and I managed to put it back by slightly folding it. It also has some lines and connectors that kind of guide the membrane, so that it's 100% sealed. Maybe there really are two models, but I also saw membranes sold separately, so I believe Petkit wanted us to be able to at least replace them. But your way works for you already, I don't want to impose mine. I just really wanted to wash the litter mat separately :)
You're welcome!! I just did another one of these vidoes now that I live elsewhere (I cleaned it outside instead!) ua-cam.com/video/pFS6vLFQHMU/v-deo.html I do this deep clean every 5 weeks or so (roughly). Generally, I buy the 8kg/20L box of cat litter (Cature Wood Clumping Smart Pellet Cat Litter), and I open a fresh box to refill the litter boxes after cleaning. So I then use the remainder of this fresh litter to top up the litterboxes over the few weeks that follow, which generally stretches it out to around 4-5 weeks. Once I run out of fresh litter for topping up (or when I am nearly out), I order or buy new litter, and once that has arrived, I generally do the deep clean not long after this! Keeping in mind I have two cats and two boxes... so it really depends on your ratio of cats to boxes! Check out my review, as I may answer any other questions you may have in this video! :) ua-cam.com/video/qzUHTDXg92U/v-deo.html Thanks for watching!
Hi I love the pura max everything is so easy never had a leak issue only question or complaint is in the app it doesn’t show the litter level I contacted PETKIT customer service no solution yet if anyone had it before and can help would really appreciate it.
Have you tried resetting the pura max manually? Maybe uninstall and reinstall the app and set up from scratch again? I'm suer you have tried this but that is what I would do first.
I found mine a nightmare to clean - who wants to clean a cat litter tray in their bath really? I just didn't think it could be kept clean enough day-to-day so I returned mine and went back to using a normal litter tray for my cats. I used a top-entry box with corn-based litter.
True. It is a lot of effort! I only use the bath because I don't have an alternative... Ideally I'd do it outside if I had hot water out there! My main motivation is that its a small house and it keeps the smell at bay when I am at work!
@@SamanthaRoseKing I understand because I didn't have an alternative either! I'm lucky in that I work from home so can keep on top of things but I can see why it would make things easier for you. It's a shame as it could be brilliant but the cleaning issue is definitely a problem.
I had a litter robot many years ago, an original. What a pain it was, one cat would use it the other one always stuck her bum out the opening and eliminated on the step that at that time wasn't removable. Then she decided she wasn't going to bother and went on the floor. Liter Robot left outside with Free sign on it. Now I use two ModKat boxes and love them, so do the cats. Easy access and they don't stink as long as they get scooped daily. I use gloves and wear a mask when scrubbing them out. Thanks for the video.
I use the petkit liners. I’ve used generic tray liners (when I had run out once and was desperate!) they still fit but there’s a lot of excess plastic that makes it a bit harder to lock the drawer. The only litter I find between cleans is underneath the pura max on the floor from the cats kicking it out. I don’t use the litter catcher tray at the front of the pura max cause my cats don’t like it. I will also sometimes find some litter stuck to the underside of the lid of the litter bag bin if I don’t replace the litter bag when it tells me it’s full! That’s about it!
Sure! I didn’t have the attachment that goes over the sifter at the time. Plus it only appeared on the app a few days prior to filming this…but I have the cover now, and that is what I use!! Keep an eye out this Sunday as I’m uploading a review that also covers this feature!
Hi! A while after this was posted I discovered you can remove the liner. I remove it and scrub with hot water and lectric soda. But eventually it will need to be replaced (the non-stickness goes away eventually). Hope that helps!
It is a bit time consuming. I guess versus the time I would be scooping every day, it's saved up and used in the cleaning process. Plus a bit of maintenance here and there (topping up litter etc)!
I’ve started scraping any stuck on bits off the liners with a scoop before I empty the litter out. Makes it a lot easier during cleaning! And better for the drain!!!
thanks for posting. very intresting, i was wondering how all those litters went under the device. does it have any hole or something? how many days does the bag longs? i mean how often do you change it --- --- - _ _ _ _ but i think you need some gym? i see you are breathlessness ... just joking by the way
Do you mean during a regular cleaning cycle after a cat has used it? There’s a pocket at the back behind the orange sifter, so as it rotates it falls into that space. For two cats with two boxes, I replace the bags in both every 10 days or so.
I am! But I would definitley recommend replacing the liner after about 12-18 months. Which is hard to get in some countries. I order mine direct from Petkit. But definitley needed. The non-stickness does not last and drastically decreases the performance! But aside from that - still LOVE them!

Glad it helped! Thanks for leaving a comment! :)
The litter level feature can be activated by hitting ok twice after it finishes with maintenance mode. It will beep to indicate it is calibrated
The cleaning actually starts at the 5:00 minutes mark 5:08
The plastic cover thing comes with it now, I got my petkit max about a month ago and there was one in the box. Haven’t used it yet though
Oh lucky you! Figures!!!

I use Cature natural wood clumping cat litter smart pellets!

I think I’ve linked it in the description! It’s from a company called Cature 🤩 they’re natural wood clumping pellets
Does the litter have to be pellets ?
I think as long as it's clumping litter it's fine. If they are pellets, the smaller the better.

No I don’t! But I do need to replace the liners if it’s possible as they have started to lose their non-stick effectiveness!

it really seems to take a very long time to wash them well
