wow thank you, i was able to get the system-board out and stuck there. Interesting, what is the tool to get the keyboard out and put the replacement back?
i was hoping to be able to replace my keyboard but i dont have much skills and cant do that for sure.. i wish they would make it easier for us to replace parts.
@maniaque37 I agree... the these days the manufacturers mount the keyboard under the frame just because it costs less... They dont care about the repairability.
The old keyboard lasted 2 1/2 years. Suddenly I regret buying this model of computer! I can change the keyboard in my old Thinkpad in about 5 minutes. Ho hum...
@@computergeeksrepair totally. Thanks for the video, it has emboldened me to give it a go. Going forwards, I'll just keep buying big fat heavy old ex-corporate laptops and not these shiny student toys. The Dell was a present for my wife. Hopefully I can fix it and keep it going a few more years. Otherwise I'll just turn it into a desktop, or take out the hard drive and sell the rest for parts!

@kvdp9543 Most recent laptop models, despite the brand, have an undermount keyboard. Laptop companies could save money by doing it...

what a horrible design. Congress really needs to get some regulations about non-serviceable parts.
