Such a good use of space, way ahead of Princess and Fairline. Finally someone bringing thought and invention to the 40ft market, very fresh. Well done Galeon.
A very rational and focussed review..the choice between good cabin space and good deck space is a long vexing question but at least you showed the choice without bias. Thank you . Paul
I don’t have the money for a boat let alone this, but I would sacrifice the head room where I have to sleep for the awesome cockpit and entertaining area. This would be an awesome boat to throw friends on and head out for weekend having a good time.
"You don't have headroom in the master suite..." EXCEPT when you stand up right where you were saying that... Seriously. There's a head cubby just above you. Plenty of stand-up clearance...
The first model of every new Galeon delivered to the UK is purchased by the dealer with almost the biggest spec possible with the view that this will be a display boat. A typical UK spec boat that of course can be tailored to each owner is £570,000 inc VAT & Delivery. If the dealer displayed the first boat into the country with zero options would be a fairly poor show on the video's. The balcony's are optional although not one model with this option has ever been built without them, but not everyone can embrace change for the better. Yes the aft cabin is a compromise as all 40ft boats are. If you want bigger there is a 420 fly, 460 fly, 470 skydeck plus many more models around this size which has been mostly dropped by the UK boat builders, where as i see this being the biggest UK market segment. I think Tony Castro and his team in Hamble deserve huge applause for this 400 fly, although they have been doing the balcony's for over 5 years it shows how slow the UK market really is to catch up.
@@Beniamin6665 That's why he asked why others arent doing it on their small yachts. Maybe they own the rights to that design I donno. But it seems similar to how mobile homes extend their walls outwards and it seems like everyone is doing that.
I love what this yacht can do and I always have... I love where the tv is positioned... not sure if the table across lowers and slides out or not but it should. The master cabin is horrible and should be the VIP and bathrooms switched. I do not like where the kitchen is on this yacht but I think it is because I have loved it being in the back but on a larger version where it opens up to the cockpit and the side deck with bar stools. All in all decent ... it is just the size holding it back.
Some may call it gimmicks but I'm betting they aren't having a hard time shifting these flys. No other competitor is innovating like Galeon. They are going to be a force when they perfect their craft.
Hi Jack. I like all the transformer which reminds me off Thunderbirds. Shame about the dwarf master. So many other options for same size and price. Great video thanks.
Except that the place he was crouching and complaining about the lack of headroom appeared to have plenty of headroom in which to stand. So there is some adequate headroom, and seemingly no need to crouch where he was crouching. There are, of course some low parts that you have to stay aware of, but it's not as bad as having the whole thing be too low, you can stand in parts.
How much better would it be on this boat to have balconies right around the stern. 3 sides. I think they really dropped the ball here. And ya, 99 things right, and what do they talk about, the 1 thing wrong What a great improvement I gotta say
Galeon have some really good ideas, and the workmanship is really good. But then they have big issues, like the headroom here, an engine room that you can barely get into, clunky floors transitions etc. The helms are terrible - so much stuff, all those dials. And no joysticks on typical models. I like the bigger models with the rotating sunpad and I think the fold out areas are a brilliant feature.
She needs to be lengthend .. in order for the proper bouyance .. as she is way too small for those folding Balconys normally found on the much larger Superyachts . As she was well rocking about . Top heavy IMO . They have made far to compact like a Suzuki Vitara/Diahatsu Sportrak when turning a corner at speed it keels over ... And the Grill section is in the wrong place .
so i cant use the rear cooler while underway cause ill risk falling overboard ( or the rear sink) and then when the rear platform is lowered i cant use the grill cause im not 7ft tall. and that also makes the sink and rear cooler harder to see into. wow
A little bit disappointed with the master cabin height, but that's not nearly as disappointing as knowing that beige dashboards are considered contemporary again...
On mark: 1:11, that swim platform looks like a trip hazard, I plated it back a few times, do not see any type of non skid or covering to prevent little ones, or drunk ones from slipping into the step assembly or the tracks in which the steps came out of.
Allen Kracower totally agree. It appeals to people who don’t know much about boats. Just imagine when one of the electric motors fails. So much stuff in the salon you can barely walk through it. And what is the point of a mid full beam cabin with such low headroom.
It looks cramped, especially on the main deck, putting the galley aft and taking out one of the seating areas would make it feel too busy..and compromising headroom in the lower deck is a bad design move most companies wouldn't even dream of in this class..
too cramped. for that kind of money I do not want to crawl in my bedroom. also the galley placement, no one can pass you while cooking just too cramped.

so, not the coolest 40ft fly on the market... if I spent so much money on a boat I would expect a lot more then a room I need to walk on all 4s. Absurd

I wonder why more manufacturers are not doing it on their smaller yachts. Such a neat way to massive expand the space.

dose it have a seekeeper it seems very wobbly ?
Yeah seems to be moving quite a bit unless if its fitted with a seakeeper it hasnt had time to spin up to full speed
It is a low quality build that has no thinking involved other then it's gimmicky features.

Cracking boat but that headroom in the master/guest cabin is some compromise to content with permanently
Definitely. I think it even kills this boat
Cracking ??

Yeap for it’s size it’s the best but, not for the money. For that much you can have a princess yacht very well equipped
How much is it?
Mateusz MKEB this particular costs £710,000
Getting dressed in the master cabin while kneeled over isn't great. Bit of me wonders if its just soo much compromise
Seems like there was quite a bit of space above him, I wonder if he could actually have stood upright in that spot.
Wow
Perfect size
Very nice boat Jack
Exellent video Jack
Galeon makes some of the best Yachats around imo

Great video.

Hi Jack. I like all the transformer which reminds me off Thunderbirds. Shame about the dwarf master. So many other options for same size and price. Great video thanks.
Amazing boat, ruined by the lack of head room in the ‘master cabin’. I’m sure many would put up with it, but I’d buy a different boat for that money.

Mmmnn 700K for that pokey little thing ? for the same money I'll take a full spec 2005 Sunseeker 82 instead !
Absolutely -
2020 engine is not same 2005 engine you can have so much problem with an older boat
@@kitan0_tv351 that isn't true at all. Most of them are rebuilt anyway. You don't know what you're talking about

40' is a perfect size boat for me,,I wish they put the galley & bar stool arrangement on this model like they have on the 50'.
10 foot is more than 3meters, they can't put more things into 40feet.

A wireless mic would work wonders for the audio ... just saying. 🤔

That thing needs a seakeeper stat.
Seakeeper??
700,000 to get sea sick at anchor doesnt really make sense
So, basically a mini 640?
I just can’t understand why they wouldn’t prioritize headroom for the master cabin. The VIP should really be the master.
AKA. The _MY Tardis!_
Wonder what you do for a living to be able to buy a 700k boat.
Most likely 80 hrs per week for 35 years without vacations or breaks now finally hoping to semi retire and invest in a boat instead of a cottage.
Saving 2000pm invested at around 15-20% will do the trick in a decade or two.
I'd be a little nervous in the swell with the aft opened up like that. One big wave and you're a submarine.
The platforms are only meant to be deployed at anchor in calm conditions
Not a boater, but that many mechanical parts and hydraulics on trivial and questionably usefull feature looks like bad design
Interesting boat, but what happened to the audio? 😕
Quite a bit of weight up high for a 40 footer.
Good presentation, but just another boat with too many gimmicks such as the balconies.
