Hey, the pattern of application for the Junior Academy of Sciences has changed a lot now. In this year (2021-22) application process, we are required to write only 2 essays:
1) Why do you want to be in The Junior Academy? What will you get out of the program and what makes you a good candidate?
2) Describe a problem that exists in the world that you would like to solve. This could be a local or global problem. Why do you want to solve it?
(Both the prompts within 500 words)

Is the Junior Academy and the 1000 Girls, 1000 Futures different thing? do you have to get in to each programs in a different way? or do you get in to 1000 Girls 1000 Futures program 1st and then get into the Junior Academy from that? do I have to fill up forms for both differently?

Today I saw their email and they accepted me.....in their junior academy.. . but the thing is they had sent me that email 5 days ago and I didn’t check my email as I never thought they would take me....now the parental consent form was supposed to sent by yesterday and I sent it today..... I suppose it is for the recommendation letter but I am not really sure, I don't know the modifications they may have done to the new admission process

I have a question please , the challenge that I want to write about happened 3 years ago , so can I write about it or not?
If I were you, I would choose those topics you are passionate about even if they happened long time ago and project them to the present/future, perhaps showing how past determines present or somethig through that path. So if you ask me, I'd tell you to go forward for any of those topics you have in mind!
Remember I am just giving advice from previous experiences and that I am not part of the admission process or anything related.

You must complete all the modules (a new one is released every month) and review your workshops with your mentor. As how you decide to manage time you are free

Hola Jazmin! Entre 4-5 horas a la semana, si te organizas bien no es difícil, desde mi punto de vista no es difícil hacer ambas cosas.

I'm not really sure, I remember it took some time when I was admitted, if you are worried communicate directly with the Academy

I don’t think so, check out the dates in which they are supposed to send you the mail either accepting of rejecting you. If you still have doubts send them a mail, they’ll answer it

Hi Valeria. I received an email from the NYAS. They have accepted me to the Junior Academy. My mum has signed the Consent form, but I have not received an email inviting me to join Launchpad yet. Should I be worried? By the way, thank you very much for your advice. It really helped me to get in.
It took me time for me too but i got the launchpad link after about a week. Its usually in promotion tab of gmail. Dunno why!

hey so I'm back on this video-I have a question: for the "describe a problem that exists in the world and why you want to solve it", do you think it would be a very broad and general topic to talk about? Like I'm really interested in environmental engineering and clean technology, so I feel like it would be really fitting, but at the same time, idkk...what do you think?
I think you could do any topic you'd like as broad as it is, as long as you show up a scope and something that makes your point unique. I believe environmental engineering and clean technology are great topics! I would recommend you to keep in mind the "Think global, act local" perspective and that's it.
(Remember I am not part of the admission process or anything, everything is just said as an advice form my experience with my previous application process)

Hola Dalia! Todos los programas se manejan en Inglés, puedes empezar a comunicarte con Schoology y después mirar cuál es el mejor método

I didn’t do 1000 girls 1000 futures program however, in STEM U you usually take 1-2 hours per week for each module. I’d say its the same
