Visited Setthorns a couple of years ago. Lovely site. Paid the price of being in the trees a week! The roof of the van was green!! Better site than the caravan club sites. We had deer every evening around the caravan.
In the summer the squirrels can get a bit confident so you need to keep doors and windows closed. It's not only the green roof you have to worry about, I wouldn't put an awning up under the oak trees either, the tannins can really stain the fabric ruining your lovely clean awning.
Wow, when you first showed the pitch, I thought you were in the middle of nowhere. Then I saw you plugging in the power, lol. We lived in Bournemouth when I was younger, so I know the New Forest well! Glad I bumped into your channel Keep it up!

Good vlog. We stopped at the CAMC there back in April and loved it. Was trying to figure out if you actually need extended mirrors as your caravan looks the same width as your car.
Thanks for your comment @k9caravanning313. I haven't been to the CAMC site but have seen it in other vlogs, maybe I'll visit one day. You're right, the caravan isn't much wider than the car, the mirrors help with awkward reversing more than anything. I did shorten the bars by about an inch too!
@@ChrisGetsOut lovely place, and wouldn’t mind going back. Lovely walks 👍 You may want to be careful as you may find the opposite problem to not having mirrors is that your mirrors stick out to far and could be deemed illegal.
I believe the law states a towing mirror can stick out 25cm further than the widest part of the caravan. Taking an inch off my mirrors bars brought me well inside that range. :)
Great video again. Last time I went to Setthorns, I don't think my family even went outside, so I haven't bothered again 😅 I am hoping to get out in the boat again but it won't be for at least 2 weekends, I will keep a look out for you
Thanks Tommo, I can always chill out at Setthorns. I also want to do a boat camp soon but need to adjust the trailer brakes first. Maybe a couple of weekends away too. Hope it stays warm enough!
@ChrisGetsOut that's a sore subject at the moment. Several times the guy hasn't shown up when arranged to carry on with it, but he has had a few issues and he is doing it as a favour for me though.
Thanks for the comment David, we love walking in the New Forest. We have been to many pubs in Brockenhurst and some of the cafes too. It wasn't about walking too the closest pub but having a good long walk in fantastic surroundings. I'm sure we will visit the pubs in Brockenhurst in another video! 🙂 If you have any good ideas or recommendations please let me know.
Ahh quick Google search and I found this statement , but I can see lots of hoops to jump through to get this permission , I was informed by beulieu aerodrome flying club that there was the only place to fly without permission.
Oh intersting, but I would of thought drone assist (which is the app showing flight restricted areas) would have blocked an aerodrome for drone flight. I may have to look into that further! Thanks for the info.
That’s not true. Only thing the land owner can do is stop you taking off and landing on there land. Unless there’s restricted air space which only usually have at prisons and airports you allowed to fly over 👍

not allowed to fly drones on the new forest , be carefull the wardens will not approve
That's not exactly a true statement. You are allowed to fly a drone for leisure purposes but you must seek permission first from Forestry England.

@ChrisGetsOut It is an organised club area, as long as your a member , they fly model planes from there all through the summer
